  • "Consistently great service, creative but approachable pan Asian. The open walls atrium is serene and a chill spot to see and be seen with a cocktail and sushi set in a sea of tranquil blue."

  • "Food is fine but this is a very NOISY place. It is hard to carry on a conversation without shouting. The décor is attractive but the seats & tables are very low making it generally uncomfortable for all but the very young."

  • "I had a cocktail while waiting for a friend on an early weeknight. Observing the bartender (a pretty foreign young lady, whose name I neglected) create complicated cocktails while effortlessly attending to the customers, and/or those dining at the bar, and drinks for waitstaff's table orders. She gave each customer personal and patient attention. It made me want to go back for the drinks alone. ***New to me - edamame comes in flavors here*** the "spicy" version is for the most serious. Sushi rolls are v.nice but menu has been westernized; cream cheese makes an appearance here. The mix of people & attire makes it comfortable; I saw casual/jeans, the typical after work crowd & the "Rush St" date groupies. On a weekday, it was a nice mix."

  • "Great sushi a little expensive. Try going from 2-5 and check out their happy hour menu with reduced price rolls. All of them are delicious!!"

  • "Great place to take someone special. It is a quaint location on Rush St. with an outstanding menu of fresh tasting sushi. Nothing rubbery or tasteless about the rolls we sampled. Highly recommend the Black Diamond and Mexican roll."

  • "The food was wonderful, crab tacos and honey walnut shrimp appetizers were so yummy that we had a second order of them. Sushi was fresh and excellent grade of fish"

  • "I am not a sushi pro, but often dine with those who are. I find the presentation, quality, and flavor of the maki rolls at Jellyfish to be exquisite, and my companions who actually know sushi quite well agree. We have always found the service to be excellent, whether we were a table of two or (on one occasion) a party of 20+ that we planned with the excellent assistance of the staff there. The bar scene is definitely something for the young at heart and (let's face it) in years, but the occasional older interlopers seem to be welcome. Jellyfish is one of my favorite restaurants and (on the rare occasion when I go to a bar) bars."

  • "My MO when traveling is to dine at places I don't have in my Dallas-Fort Worth home town. So in Chicago for a few days on business, I was looking for that special someplace different. Jellyfish fit the bill nicely. So glad I went. Great good. Great service. Great location. Not much more I can say."

  • "Went their on a Friday; great service as always. Margaret was our waitress. She comped a round of drinks which was really nice. I felt bad after seeing I only tipped 20% for the great service--I should have left more :) Anyways, you can't go wrong at Jellyfish great place!"

  • "Jellyfish certainly seems like the place to see and be seen, the decor and energy similar to that of Osha Thai in San Francisco; high-end Asian with a nightclub twist. Despite briefly wondering if I was trendy enough to sit at the "cool kids table" upon arriving, the staff was gracious and accommodating enough to dispel those worries. The menu creative and extensive and certainly a great value for the portions and quality. The cocktail list was innovative and refreshing as well. Overall, Jellyfish managed to combine cool with comfortable in a refreshing way."

  • "My boyfriend and I made reservations for a Saturday night and we had to wait although we had reservations for the time when we arrived. After being seated, we sat for 30 minutes without any waiter or waitress coming to our table. No one acknowledged us or told us they would be with us in a minute. We decided to leave and the hostess who sat us watched us walk out without saying anything. The service at this restaurant is so terrible; it is literally nonexistent. "

  • "Seats in the dining area were a little too low for my short date, so we decided to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a great experience."

  • "The title says it all... Our server was very attentive and accommodating. And the food was drool worthy -every single bite. If my husband and I decide to move to Chicago, we'll definitely be going back!"

  • "Chicken and green tea waffles, fruit maki roll (they should call it frui-shi), unagi Benedict, nori Omlette, bloody with uni shooter, lychee mimosa...no brunch like it."

  • "The new summer drinks and food were good, but very over priced for the quantity. Great location in Viagra Triangle--was expecting a more lively scene, but was pretty empty for the after work crowd. I had been wanting to try Jellyfish for sometime now and did, but don't think I need to rush back anytime soon. "

  • "Was very excited to have a new sushi place in my neighborhood. Went to Jellyfish with a couple friends, and while the food was great, overall, I wasn't too impressed. The food was overpriced for what you got - $9 edamame? C'mon. The blue lights make it seem like they are trying a little to hard to be cool and the service left a lot to be desired, and it was a slow Monday night. The Crabby Eel roll was amazing, but everything else was on par with Friends sushi which is also on Rush and better priced. Overall, we had a good time and good food, but I don't really know if it would be my first choice in that area when you have RA and Friends so close by. "

  • "My group was a little old for the crowd, but we had a good time and the food was terrific. Started with appetizers like soy beef bao, cooked wasabi beef on a hot rock with a great marinade. For entrees we had a great looking and tasting El Sol roll, sushi combo, fire dragon, spicy tuna tempura and tuna nigiri. The place has a great look, a little loud but manageable, at least early!"

  • "The food is decent but the scene leave much to be desired for depending on where you sit, which could be right next to the window of a clothing store looking at a mannequin with thumping club music blasting in your ears. It's very very loud in there; both the music and the people eating there. Crowd was in their 20's and 30's. The tables that we ate off of were essentially tiny end tables. Not the comfortable and elegant style I was expecting for a restaurant in such an upscale area. The place feels like a cheap knock off. The food was good though."

  • "Clearly, this is a hot spot in the Gold Coast for the younger crowd, and that's cool. It's a nice environment, but the server was awful. Thankfully, the food was real good! We'll probably not be back."

  • "This is my second time at Jellyfish (the first was during Restaurant Week earlier this year). I HAD to return to celebrate my birthday. My group was quickly seated. Our servers were friendly and extremely attentive (despite the Saturday night dinner rush). The ambiance is best described in three words: sexy, chic, and fun! The cool tones of the lighting and the live DJ spinning house and dance beats enhanced our dining experience. Dinner was phenomenal! The food was flavorful, masterfully prepared, and artfully plated. The kitchen even prepared a modified version of the noodles for a friend with dietary restrictions. Dessert was breathtaking and the waiter surprised me with a celebratory ice cream scoop!"

  • "Went with a group of girls for a 30th birthday and from the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by blue lights and great music. We were given a small cozy booth near the bar and started off each getting a different specialty drink (all of which were amazing...especially the prosecco drink and the old fashioned!) The edamame can be dressed in a variety of sauces (yum!) and the crab tacos were a huge hit. We ordered several rolls along with a veggie noodle dish for one of the girls (which ended up being devoured by all of us!) The waiter got blue birthday shots for all of us and the GM even stopped by and helped us get at in at a nearby exclusive nightclub! We felt like royalty and will definitely be back next time we hit the town!"

  • "The booths in front of the bar are way too tight. They need to remove one and space the rest out accordingly. The bases on the booths are huge and take up all the space for your feet. I couldn't get mine under the table without being on the base and then hitting the person sitting opposite me. When left to the side the waiter was constantly stepping on my feet. All of us are slim tall guys that went so the issue with tightness was NOT due to being obese."
