Side dishes of a baked potato, green beans, and sweet potato were large enough for sharing. Celebrating a college graduation, we were given a small complimentary dessert. We were looking for a place in downtown Cincinnati to dine for my 60th birthday anniversary. We had heard great things about the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, our service was outstanding, everyone was very attentive and when we mentioned it was my birthday, our waiter took a complimentary keepsake photo and prepared a serving of chocolate mousse. Bar is the first area you walk past and it's up to standard for a high-end streak house. Bar area could be a bit larger, but plenty of stools if you arrive early. Beautiful women employees walk around which seems to be more form than function. Guess they are paid to model? Booths and tables are nostalgic and a bit of a throw-back, which I like. Service was very good and nice to know there is still some integrity in a wait staff when asking about wine selection. Management is present and doing what they can to help out while not getting in the way...more restaurants need management on the floor instead of in back offices. Food was very good. Our steaks were outstanding, and the service was very good, with a very friendly, congenial, not-stuffy-at-all demeanor. Noise level was moderate, with lots of activity. My particular table was in a good location, but right behind my head was a wait-station, where waiters were constantly filling ice water into serving glasses. Tasted great, but one crab leg the same price as my steak? I felt a little taken advantage of. Oh yeah, and keep the homeless away from me at the valet! Every time we eat at Ruby's downtown we are harassed for our left overs. All that said, you can't beat the best steak in America with a beautiful wife in downtown Cincinnati. The Potatoes Anna are heavenly. The portions are huge (much like the price). You definitely get what you pay for here.
