  • "Our lunch at Jean Georges was our second in the last year, albeit a special occasion. We were delighted beyond expectations. The space, looking our at greenery (trees) including Columbus Circle and Central Park West and Central Park South was nourishing. Then came the pre-appetizers, and appetizers, entrees and deserts that were so delicious as to defy description. This is inspired cuisine that doesn't try too hard to be different--often resulting in "strange." This is well-thought-out, carefully crafted for the special moment that one's tastebuds are thrilled--making our eyes light up and our tummies say "Wow!" But it is subtle--and unmistakeable. Worth the extra expense to one's budget--if you are a true gourmand do not miss this!"

  • "My wife and I love to treat ourselves to gourmet a few times a year and this was an absolute DELIGHT !! The Service is everything that you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. The food was just perfect with every detail of presentation and an unbelieveable taste!! The Chef takes great care to assure that the flavors blend together and pop in your mouth. It is a great food experience and The Chef comes out to assure that everything is going according to plan. This is our second time here (the first was at the bar) and we will certainly go back to enjoy the magnificent food again!!"

We had to go with the smallest menu of 4 courses so due to time constraints there was little time between courses which was a shame. The dessert was huge with 4 separate dishes."

  • "We had been to Jean Georges a few times in the past and were expecting a great meal. I remember vividly what I ate there seven years ago and hoped this meal would be equally memorable. It ended up being memorable only for its ridiculousness. Preciousness has completely overtaken flavor: my husband and I actually burst out in spontaneous laughter at one highly contrived course which tasted like ketchup on tasteless fish. This was not for anyone who actually likes food! So sad."

  • "I was there with my wife celebrating our anniversary. The courses, which were delicious, followed each other with great speed. Before coffee and dessert we wanted to enjoy our glass of wine but felt pressured to keep going. We only wanted a few more minutes to enjoy the ambiance. To our surprise once we finished dessert the check was placed in front of us without our asking for it. A very poor practice in any restaurant, but at JG it's inexplicable. And all this happened at 2:30 pm, in an off-peak time. That explains the 4 stars, instead of 5."

  • "As a personal opinion, lunch service was completely undeserving of a Michelin three star rating. Scallop appetizer looked like it had been plated by a 5 year old: sewage colored sauce completely drowned the poor scallops on our plate. We ordered a cod and a hake entree, both had to be sent back to the kitchen. The cod was not fresh at all and tasted to us as though it had been immersed in a salt water bath to disguise any indication of spoiling. The kitchen sent over dessert as an apology which also looked like a disaster in our opinion. Presentation does not seem to be their forte."

  • "I recently dined here after watching a late show and they were extremly accomidating, however the reservation we made, we were not aware it being a 3 course pre-fix menu. The food was outstanding along with the staff, everyone was polite and helpful in our inquires on certain dishes. I ordered the yellow tuna ribbons as the first course, the crispy salmon as the second and the parmesean crusted organic chicken as the third, all of which came out outstanding. Not only did you recieve the 3 courses you each have a choice of dessert which consisted of 4 small desserts which were to die for, and a choclate tasting. I would love to go back but def would only return if celibrating a special occation."

The squab didn't do it for me but overall a fantastic experience. We even got a window seat and a mini birthday cake as I'd told them it was for my wife's birthday."

  • "Went for the $48 2 course prix fixe lunch which is an amazing value for this quality of food and service in a beautiful light filled dining room with lovely blue and yellow flowers. Stayed for coffee and dessert. Very good wine suggestions, maitake mushroom salad was delicious. Ordered the cod which had a slightly overwhelming vinaigrette. The server noticed my hesitation without me saying anything and offered to replace it . In its place I had the most wonderful sweetbreads I have ever had."

  • "My family and I (wife and 12 year old child) visited for a lunch, we had previously been with my wife to Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea for lunch a few years ago and now when in New York wanted our daughter to also experience good dining. Service was spot on throughout the meal from the Maitre D, waiting staff were attentive and time was taken to explain menu items and also cater for our child. The lunch was very tasty and well presented. Only downside was that the closer we got to 1330, the more rushed we felt it became, we had eaten most of our 3 course lunch so were not rushed that way, but the start was very relaxed, so the quick hustle at the end was notcied."

  • "Herb yogurt soup was too salty. Salmon tartare/sashimi was too warm. The American white sturgeon caviar didn't taste fresh. Bit into something hard in the sea scallops. I pulled out something white and jagged. The frog legs were done perfectly. They spilled much of my Mckenzie Rye manhattan when pulling my table out to ease my return to the table but didn't offer me another drink (I haven't even taken a sip yet). My wife's lamb came out med. instead of med rare. The table next to ours got it rare instead of medium rare. When their dish came back from the kitchen, it was overdone. Probably the biggest failure was on my part; I didn't complain to the staff about any of it. On a positive note, wine pairings were spot on. Andrea was awesome."

We had the 7 course tasting menu because it was a special occasion and the times had recommended the spring menu and we didn't want to miss out on anything. The food is very rich so seven courses is too much food. We would be better served by choosing from the a la carte menu. Favorite dish, asparagus with Morel mushrooms, truly fantastic! Needless to say it was also crazy expensive. The atmosphere is very professional with good food but not a mind blowing experience."

  • "We loved the food! The crab risotto was fantastic! The main course was a little (very little) disappointing (it was lobster, I guess I expected more after the amazing first and second courses). The desert was spectacular!!! Great wine list. Excellent service. You can chose a 4-course or 7-course meal. Expensive, but worthy (we spent 450 dollars for two, for the 4-course meal, with drinks, bottle of wine and desert wine). Good for special occasions."

  • "My husband and I took my mother, sister, and niece to JG during a visit to NY after my niece's high school graduation. The service was impeccable. The food was amazing! My mother and niece are not adventurous when it comes to food. We shared this with our server and she was great at recommending food for them. She also congratulated my niece once we were seated and brought a special dessert at the end of our meal. JG helped make a special occasion even more special. My sister said the food was likely the best she's ever eaten. I agree with that statement."

  • "It was our first dining experience at a three star Michelin restaurant and Jean Georges definitely did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, service was quick and efficient, all the staff were really polite and very knowledgable about what the restaurant offers. By just the way the staff describe the menu, it was enough to make you salivate. And when the food came, presentation was fine and for most dishes the mix of flavours and texture were really creative and extremely scrumptious. As we went for lunch, so price was really affordable for such an acclaimed restaurant. Will definitely visit again when I'm back in NYC."
