The Steakhouse is a nice option for Vegas - with prices to match. Three of us w/ 1 cocktail, 3 glasses of wine and salad+entree were over $100/person, tip included. Not terrible. We each had a fish dish (in a Steakhouse, go figure). Salmon, snapper and ??. No complaints. Simple yet good complexity in the simplicity. Great flavors and well presented. We ordered the wagu filet and it was truly "melt in your mouth". Also ordered the truffle Mac and cheese as a side and ended our meal with the brownie and salted sunday. The food was top quality, memorable and probably the best dinner we enjoyed on the stip. The only downside is that it is extremely expensive. Our steaks a were $65 each for a 6 oz! The meal, overall, was fantastic until the bill came. The bill contained multiple drink items which were not for our table and omitted a few which were. When these issues were corrected, several items were still wrong. Once corrected again, the total was not revised properly. We spent about 30 minutes dealing with the check. Beautiful surroundings contribute to the wonderful experience. Everyone in our party tried different things. Waygu filet, sea bass, scallops and short ribs were all very delightful as well as the ceasar salad, tomato burrata salad and the huge shrimp cocktail. Limited menu offerings but we all remarked that we could have chosen just about any item and been happy. Not an inexpensive place, but any restaurant of this caliber in Las Vegas would be priced the same. We were seated at a table that was circular which was great because everyone could talk easily. The staff was great very attentive. There were about three people helping to make sure we always had drinks and we never needed to request anything. The food was excellent. The vegetable side dishes (we had mushrooms and asparagus) were just OK. The mashed potatoes are FANTASTIC! I realize no one eats carbs anymore but they were so worth it. I did not order the wine but both bottles we had were perfect complements to the food. Just be prepared to spend a LOT of money. $65 for their higher end filet mignon and $250 for Kobe beef! The $65 steak was great so I was happy. It was a wonderful experience. The first course was the creme frache beignet with caviar - a nice combination of salty, creamy, with just a touch of sweet. Next came the bacon wrapped shrimp with papaya marmelade, the saltiness of the bacon nicely balanced against the fruitiness of the papaya. Then the sea bass with lemon basil jus - I used the bread to mop up every last drop of the sauce... Followed be the Australian waigu filet with 4 sauces. My favorite was the miso butter - an umami experience! Finally Jean Georges's candy bar: 5 inches of chocolate cake with chocolate creme, with 6 different toppings (popcorn, peanuts, ice cream etc.)!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
