  • "Steak was good, everything else unremarkable to poor, considering the price."

  • "I had a wonderful quite interaction with the national baseball association. They were friendly sociable polite and had wonderful dinning etiquette, the bar experience was even amazing.."

  • "We had tickets to the theater, even though it was a distance we decided to give JD Hoyt's a try and we were not disappointed. The valet parking was very convenient. The server made sure everything went like clock work. She was very attentive to our needs and was very pleasant. I had the pork chop/rib combo, it was wonderful. The chop was moist and flavorful. The rib was a dry rub but came with a side of Bbq sauce, did not need the sauce the ribs were mouth watering. Would definitely go back."

  • "My fiance and I had our engagement dinner at Hoyts. Pat was so good to us and the food is AMAZING. This will forever be a favorite date night"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "We took a couple of fathers on Father's Day. They are famous for their pork chops and rightly so. They're perfectly done and huge. Our server was the best we've had in a while. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and had a personality that added to our dining experience. While the place was pretty busy there was a very acceptable noise level, which is a wonderful change of pace from many of the newer restaurants that seem to think jet plane noise levels add energy."

  • "Second time I have been to JD Hoyts. Little on the expensive side, but for what you get - it is a very good deal and nice time."

  • "Great tasting brunch selection. Reasonable price. Came for Father's Day with family. Ample room."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "except for the porkchops-which were excellent as always-food was very bland and flavorless, esp the halibut which was awful (like eating sawdust).Kind of a let down-Hoyts has always been so consistent."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "Highly suggested destination, turned out to be a new favorite for us. The ambiance and service were perfect and the food was impressive both in appearance and flavor. The suggested pork chops were as amazing as described, and the steaks were cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning."

  • "Original Not a cookie cutter chain. Great food & outstanding service"

  • "I generally like JD Hoyt's but our recent brunch experience was pretty average. The food came out on two separate platters, one each for my wife and I. I understand it is "family" style and this is how they do it with only 2 people but it was just a huge mess of meat mostly. Food tasted okay but not outstanding. I love their Cajun chops and would go back for dinner specifically for them but really doubtful we'll do brunch here again any time soon."

  • "This is far and away the best brunch in town! I have loved it for years and it never disappoints!"
    Dined on 6/1/2014
  • "This was our first visit to Hoyts for brunch, we have had lunch and dinner numerous times. When we read the list of items for the brunch we thought it was family style to share, when we received eat each person was served everything 2 sausage links, two pork chops, a slice of ham, a pile of scrambled eggs, two biscuits with enough gravy for 8 and cajun hashbrowns. Trying to decide what to eat first was the challenge. Half of mine came home with me. If you love brunch but hate the buffet style ones you NEED to go to Hoyts you definitely wont leave hungry. If you dont want all that food they do have other options, one in our group had the french toast which looked and was amazing. Another great dining experience at Hoyts."

  • "WE LOVED OUR TIME AT HOYT'S! THE CAJUN FLAVORED CHOPS WERE EXCELLENT & THE BISCUITS & GRAVY WERE A REAL NEW DELECTABLE EXPERIENCE! GREAT, FRIENDLY, SWIFT SERVERS WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH ADDED TO THE FUN AS WELL! "

  • "This was the first time dining at JD Hoyt's and the entire party had an enjoyable time. Everyone loved the food, and the service was excellent. Kate, our server, was pleasant and knowledgeable. We would definitely dine here again. The prices were quite reasonable, which is something for me to say, as I am notoriously cheap! "

  • "Incredible food with even better service. Very reasonable for the menu offering. "
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "The pork chops are out of this world. For under $30, you and another person can split the two-chop plate and still have enough to bring home. We went for an early dinner when the twins were not playing in town so it was pretty low-key. The toddler and infant we had in our group were welcome and were able to eat the sides, I didn't ask about a kids menu. We love going here for dinner because it is always really great food and friendly, attentive service."

  • "We went to JD Hoyt's for the first time because I had purchased a Groupon for a Sunday brunch. We were amazed at that quality of the food and the amount! Everything was fabulous."

  • "We celebrated my daughters college graduation with 15 people at JD Hoyts and it was fantastic. Great food, Great Service! It was also my husbands birthday and they created an amazing desert platter that really topped it all off. Our servers we so freindly and did a great job."
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "They do not offer a kids menu, but were willing to accommodate for my young kids. I ordered what I thought was a safe choice for a side (mac & cheese), but it was too gourmet for them. My kids like steak but again, they were too gourmet for them. Dessert was a hit!"
    Dined on 5/25/2014
  • "We had a fantastic dinner at Hoyt's! Service was wonderful, food was great, cocktails were outstanding, and Al the bartender was a blast to talk to and he knows the business. Thanks to all at JD Hoyt's for a fun and memorable dining experience."

  • "We had a wonderful evening. JD Hoyt's is an institution. The food was fabulous and our server made the evening. "

  • "My husband took me to J.D Hoyt's for a belated anniversary dinner. My first time, but he has been many times. I ordered the New York strip with blue cheese, it was awesome. I got Mac and cheese on the side, I didn't think it was anything special. It was a slower night, so lots of wait staff we're checking on us, a little annoying. Our actual waitress was a little dry. We weren't dressed to the 9's, so maybe she didn't want to waste her personality on a couple she didn't think would tip. Who knows. Overall I would definitely visit again."

  • "we were seated right away. It took a waitress 15 min. to ask us for a drink order. we then ordered the brunch for all 7 of us . she took another 15 minutes to bring us our drinks and did not come back for refills for a half an hour, we did not receive any food for 1 hour and 15 minutes. As we looked around it did not appear to be busy. For a sunday brunch I thought this was very unreasonable."
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "We ordered scrambled eggs and it took over an hour before we were told that they had run out of eggs! Sunday brunch at 1:00 PM and they run out of eggs!?"
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "Very disappointing, brutal service, long wait, food was cold, and way over done. "
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "We made the mistake of coming downtown just when crowds were parking for a Twins game. We finally found street parking with a meter. Now to the food - we ordered the Sunday brunch and were pleased the selections and the volume for the price. Delicious!! Our waitress brought us a box to take home the abundant left over meat. All in all, it was a very nice time for two old ladies. Thank you."

  • "I was reminded why I loved JD Hoyt's the last time I was there. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable and an all around fun atmosphere. The chops and rib combo is the way to go. I was trying to find something fun for a group and it was perfect- all seven people loved the experience. I will be back soon!"

  • "I frequent the restaurant several times a year and the experience is always awesome. I dined with several friends visiting in town and they loved the food and restaurant. For one friend from Pittsburg, this was his second visit to Hoyt's and he's the one who selected the place for our meeting and dining place. I always look forward to dining here."

  • " This has been a favorite steak place of mine for many years but unfortunately it let me down this visit. My guest ordered a small tenderloin which was fine, as were our "dirty rice" side dish, drinks and desert. The vegetables du jour were overcooked and my small cut of prime rib was quite disappointing. I've always had excellent chops and steaks here in the past. The server was very pleasant and helpful. I'll try again."

  • "The restaurant was energetic, the service was excellent and the food was good. Our dinner for 4 was $200 which for a good steak house is reasonable. I would recommend"

  • "My wife and I and our adult kids had a great time. All four dinners were outstanding. We have been to JD Hoyts many times over the years. The food and service have been consistently reliable. The bar is great for socializing, apps or even dinner. "

  • "We have eaten here several times and never disappointed. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the wait staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, have tried the filet, pork chop and have had the ribs several times. Also have tried the sweet potato fries, garlic mashed, mac and cheese and asparagus. My husband loves the gumbo. For desssert the grilled banana sundae is awesome! "

  • "We enjoyed the all-you-can-eat brunch special. Plenty of food for the dollar! Biscuits were light & flaky, leave room for the tasty beignets. Best deal before Sunday Twin's games in town + $10 parking. Thank you for holding the leftovers until we returned. Highly recommended but you won't have room left for food at the game."

  • "We met another couple for dinner before going to the Twins game. We each ordered something different on the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was fun, efficient and extremely helpful. We had the "Buddy Bowl" as an appetizer - also great! Overall, we had a great time, great food and WILL go back again."
