JCT Kitchen and BarExcellent food and great cocktailExcellent food and great cocktail menu, very unique...enjoyed everything, dessert was outstanding6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, a little loudWe chose JCT Kitchen to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was a great choice! The food was great and we had excellent service. The only downside - and this is small - was that it is a little loud. I expected as much seeing that it was a Friday night. Overall, we had a great meal and a great experience. We will be visiting again soon!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be back. Our waiter (Paymon) was knowledgable, attentive and one of the best we've had in Atlanta. Sophisticated yet casual atmosphere. Food was excellent and arrived quickly. Only complaint has to be the noise level, it's extremely loud and we were happy to be in a corner which helped a little.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location for a romantic dinneMy wife and I went to JCT Kitchen for our third year anniversary and we loved it. We started with the pork belly appetizer, followed with the fried chicken for dinner, and we both had ice cream for dessert. The service was great and everyone seemed very friendly. We will definitely be dining at JCT again.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceThis is my forth time at JTC Kitchen and it gets better and better each time. We had Chris as our server and he was perfect! Chris was very knowledgeable of the menu items, attentive and good looking :). I am going to recommend Chris to all of my friends. Look forward to my next meal at JTC.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday SupperThe Sunday Supper was a deal. $24 / person is a good deal for some biscuits and deviled eggs, salad for the table, a meat, 3 sides to share, and a dessert. Everything was delicious.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spotA foodie friend recommended this restaurant to me and his picks are always great. I was disappointed when we got there because Sunday is a fixed menu and I could not try the angry mussels I was looking forward to eating (understandable once they told me it is spawning season right now). But boy was I surprised- the menu was exceptional. Since we got the fixed sunday supper we got to try a little of everything and actually came out better at a fixed price of $24 per person. Of note the fish of the day- cobia was beyond outstanding. We will be back!!!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMReasonableWe enjoyed the evening. Our server was energetic and helpful and quick. The was good variety in the food choices and it was easy to make a small change. However the food was a bit salty from the soup to the vege plate to the sides. Still it was tasty and I would come back again.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!First time My wife and I have been to the restaurant but the service was fantastic and the food was outstanding will be back soon.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFun Friday nightThe trout wrapped in bacon has always been my favorite. We loved the delicious flavors of the special peach, celery, radish, cheese appetizer. The salad was dressed perfectly with not too much buttermilk ranch. The Pinot Gris wine was so smooth.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite!I love JCT Kitchen. It is my go-to for entertaining out-of-town guests and those new to Atlanta. The food is truly special, but the atmosphere isn't stuffy. I have had many memorable dining experiences at JCT Kitchen.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Dining Experience in AtlantaCame to JCT with family and was blown away. From the moment we walked in, the staff impressed me with their friendliness. Our server, Paymon, was decidedly the best server any of us has ever had. He even held my baby niece so her parents could eat. Who does that?!? Answer: The best server EVER. He took excellent care of us and made sure our dinner was "the best birthday dinner ever" according to my mother. Thank you Paymon and all the staff at JCT. We will be back soon!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Service So-SoThe food was fantastic - unique and delicious. The service? It was confusing of where to go to find the restaurant (versus bar) for an out-of-towner. And the person handling check-in/seating was rude. The waiter was okay, interesting to say the least and over-the-top, yet not very attentive and a bit all over the place. Overall, the food saves it by a landslide and the waitstaff we had was okay, but not spectacular.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great food experience! We had an outing for 4, each had something different and each was equally delicious! As always started with their unique deviled eggs (if you've never had them, they are a must try!). I had the rabbit with fresh pepper pasta - I've had it before and it was absolutely as exquisite as I remember! Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely and we all shared the caramel bananas foster cake which was to die for! We've been here probably a dozen times and are never dissappointed - food is always extremely fresh tasting and uniquely delicious!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMbest restaurant chickenWe had the beet salad, the bacon trout and the grilled half chicken, all were so very delicious. We will be back.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHave never had a bad experienceHave never had a bad experience at JCT. I think the Sunday supper is one of the best dining deals in the city.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMissed the chickenWonderful place heard I need to try chicken and when I got there there ran out. Had the burger instead and it was excellent.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMy family came for the AngryMy family came for the Angry Mussels but was disappointed that it's not available that day. Lobster appetizer and deviled eggs were flavorful. The fried chicken was delicious. NY Strip steak and trout were okay. Blueberry fried pie was over fried and the coconut cake was okay.
Service was excellent!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my FavoritesJCT Kitchen is one of my FAVES. Food, service. ambience is always "on point".5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my fiancé to JCT kitchenI took my fiancé to JCT kitchen for her birthday because we had never been before. The food was decent kind of dry for a New York steak and the chicken was nothing special. However the desert was great and the service was good too. We really liked the atmosphere and would recommend it to friends. We are definitely looking forward to going back for drinks. Overall a good experience.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service made it GREATFirst time visitors with a friend from NYC. Chose this place due to regional and fresh cuisine and proximity to downtown where friend was staying for work. Went on Tuesday and thought it would be snoozy - but restaurant and bar both had a lively crowd.
Made reso and were seated right away. Even if you had to wait - upstairs bar and outside area is super charming. Easy parking and good shops to stroll if you're there for lunch/early evening.
Menu selection is just right. Enough for variety but keeps it simple to focus on how to do it best. Everyone chose something different - fried chicken, shrimp and grits, fish special. Nothing disappointed. Had apps and dessert and those were equally awesome.
Our service though made the night.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticI took my wife to JCT Kitchen for her birthday. The food was exceptional. They have a great selection of fine cheeses for appetizers. I highly recommend this restaurant.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFRENCH FRY ME!You

This place just GETS IT.........its my favorite!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, but this time too saltyWent for Mother's Day at 7:15 pm. We were seated immediately which was nice.
They are very good with getting the food out on time but this particular time my moms halibut said it had crab in it. No where did we find crab inside, on top, underneath and I don't think you would grind up crabmeat and put it as the sauce. The halibut was very small and cost a lot more than the original Sunday night $29.00 bucks for everything.
We had Mac and cheese, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and peas.
The dishes along with the food seemed very salty. We were constantly drinking water.
All in all there food is always good, not sure what happened this time around.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood not GreatI have enjoyed the Sunday Supper many times for family occasions. This time, sitting outside with family, the atmosphere and service was great, but the food was not. I had the chicken which was okay. Cornbread as blah. Sweet potatoes were creamy, but a little cinnamon topping could have added pizazz. We got an extra veggie dish because we love veggies so much. Collards were not good, and only Mac and cheese (not really a veggie) was yumm. A bit disappointed at a great restaurant!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMATL Standout. The kitchen never disappoints with limited, but high quality menu options... great for foodies! Fun crowd, lively environment and the upstairs open-air bar has a great view of the city. Level of service can vary but is always polite.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeThe food was definitely comfort food and very good! i saw this restaurant on an episode of on the road with G Garvin and his recommendation for the shrimp and grits and the fried chicken was right on. We were a party of 7 and everyone ordered something different from the menu and each dish was awesome. The ambience and the food was outstanding! The service was attentive and friendly.
Pricey but worth it!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't believe we waited this long! This was the perfect restaurant to visit prior to attending an event in West Midtown. Atmosphere is terrific. I had the the meat and potatoes. Although my steak was a little too sinewy, the flavor was very, very good.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and yummy, if noisyI had dinner at JCT with a dear out-of-town friend on a Tuesday night. Vegetable plate was terrific-- a vibrant mix of interesting tastes. The coffee was so good I had to ask our knowledgable waiter if it was really decaf-- and it was, and he could tell me all about where it came from, too. This is a great-looking restaurant- sophisticated but not stuffy. The one negative: the noise level. We arrived a little before 8pm, wanting to catch up and chat, and it was a bit of an effort to be heard. Things died down a bit later, and by 9p or so that Tuesday it was fine. This was not a huge issue for a couple of old friends gabbing, but it would have been a problem for a bigger group or one with seniors in it.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMvery pleasant experienceI thought the service was wonderful. Oddly enough, the table dishes and starter salad were better than the entrees, at least the night we were there. I would feel very comfortable bringing out of town guests here.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing foodThe food and service were absolutely amazing. Totally recommend the Padron Peppers and the Angry Mussels. Those were the best mussels I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I could not get over how yummy they were and the grilled bread definitely put it over the top!!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA true GEMMy wife and I ate at JCT for the first time this past Saturday and to sum it up, cannot wait to go back. Everything was awesome.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance and great food! This was my first time at this restaurant and it was definitely a treat! The food was very good, the drinks were poured just right, and I had a waiter that was very passionate about the food and knowledgable. (Hate that I forget his name) I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a cool atmosphere and hoping to satisfy their taste buds. I am hoping to come back on a night when the live band is performing.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTroutdadHad dinner with friends at JCT Kitchen Saturday night and was very impressed. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. I loved the shrimp and grits and could have eaten a bucket of the apple hushpuppies. Highly recommend this restaurant.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI give JCT’s 5 Stars. EverythingI give JCT’s 5 Stars. Everything was great from the start. Valet parking in heavy rain is a plus. The staff was very friendly and the facility inviting. Our wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable of both the food and the wine. We started off with the much talked about Angry Mussels, and they were great. Just the right amount of kick. The Hen of the woods mushrooms were excellent. I have the famous fried chicken and it was as great as everyone said. My wife had the Chicken and Dumplings and it was delicious. They paired it well with a Chardonnay “ Educated Guess”. We will definitely go back to enjoy some of the other interesting dishes.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery trendy atmosphere; VeryVery trendy atmosphere; Very loud; Very good food! One of our favorite dishes is the Angry Mussels!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place. Took my boyfriendGreat place. Took my boyfriend here, and the food was so good! We got there a little too late, we wanted to try the JCT Fried Chicken, but settled for the Wooden Grilled Chicken which was so good! Great place for a date :)4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile service was a bit slowWhile service was a bit slow to find us after we were first seated (some confusion apparently with where we were seated), the waitstaff more than made up for it once they realized their mistake. Food was excellent, our server was very good, and atmosphere was lovely, and even the house Sonoma cab was unbelievable for the modest bottle price. . We will definately go back!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply great food and atmosphere.Simply great food and atmosphere. Feels like home but with a cool and hip flare.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently good food andConsistently good food and service make this one of our "go to" restaurants for almost any occasion. Shrimp and Grits were amazing with collards. My husband loves to try anything with "game" and y'all have got game! We will be back again soon!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Bar was great, the serviceThe Bar was great, the service in the restaurant was outstanding, but the food was a complete let down. A chef should know the basics of how to prepare a steak to the proper temperature, epic fail. Appetizers, wine, cocktails and service were out of this world.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Homerun. JCT hasAlways a Homerun. JCT has great food and a great atmosphere at an affordable price.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLove your food- can't hearLove your food- can't hear inside. It woudl be great if ya'll could work on the noise.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great exceptEverything was great except for the fried pies. Who serves fried pies at room temperature? They were a soggy, greasy mess. I sent them back.
Highlight? Prosciutto on a deviled egg.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat birthday!JCT kitchen was great! I put in my reservation status that it was my birthday and they made a fuss without being embarrassing. It was a wonderful experience!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMJCT is an Atlanta gemThere are so many "new Southern" restaurants out there, but JCT is one of them that gets it right from the ambience, to the service to the food it is all good! Love the deviled eggs, the fried chicken, soups and salads. The wine and cocktail selection are superb too.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food. CreativeFantastic food. Creative and delicious cocktails. Excellent and attentive service. Only complaint is that it is ridiculously noisy and you need to shout through dinner.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurant. GreatLove this restaurant. Great food always and great atmosphere.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only disappointment wasThe only disappointment was the dessert I choose (the caramel cake "banana's foster." It was as step below the quality of the entrees and appetizers. We loved the vibe...upbeat without being chaotic, hip without being pretentious. Great cocktail list.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Sunday DinnerWe went for JCT's Sunday Supper. We arrived early for our 6:30p reservation, so we started with a drink at the bar. When we were seated, we quickly received a deviled egg and biscuits with delicious vanilla and apple butter. The salad was crisp, but nothing special. We both ordered the fried chicken, and split corn, brussel sprouts, and mac and cheese. All was excellent. The dessert of the evening was pecan pie, and although it is not what I would normally choose, I enjoyed every bite. Our waiter was very attentive despite the restaurant being busy. The mood during Sunday Supper is casual but energetic. Good food, good company, and a good time. I'll be back.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
