Jaxx SteakhouseAlways Great SteakOne of the best filet mignon's you can get anywhere in the country. The Jaxx potatoes are great.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food and great service! My fiance and I both enjoyed our experience at Jaxx. I had the scallops and shrimp, and he ordered the petite filet, both of which were amazing. The only complaint I have is that the shrimp was a little chewy, but besides that the food was delicious. The glaze on the scallops was rich and creamy, and the wasabi mashed potatoes definitely stood out. We both cleared our plates! And if that wasn't enough, the waiter recommended we try their white chocolate bread pudding, which was apparently voted best dessert in Addison 4 years in a row. It was plated with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate and caramel sauces. Needless to say, that plate went back to the kitchen empty as well. Overall a great experience!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as alwaysDelightful evening with great food and service. Highly recommend Jaxx!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service! After reading numerous reviews about "Larry the Waiter", I was pleasantly surprised to be served by Larry himself. As described, he was fantastic! Helpful, courteous, attentive, and friendly without being intrusive. The food was fantastic (filet mignon with crab stuffed shrimp, and scallop and jumbo shrimp) Ambiance is a little "old school", a little upgrade of the facility wouldn't hurt ( we had a rip on the back of the bench booth covered with duct tape). But an overall nice experience!! Ask for Larry6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food! But the service was so so. Our waiter didn't mind us a bit. He was always gone.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMlamb chops hidden geminstead of steak I ordered the lamb chops and excellent. Three medium six lamb chop cooked perfectly. The calamari was also excellent. Excellent service.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AM5 stars serviceLoved our waiter Larry. Food was excellent. Blue cheese salad dressing was very tasty! Already told several friends about Jaxx! Only bothersome item was parking-very spare. Overall rating go two thumbs UP!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentFrom the pre-dinner drinks to the excellent clam chowder and steaks, this is a restaurant that you can't miss. It's nice to see private (i.e. not chain) restaurants that has EXCELLENT food and service. We've been to many steak houses including Sullivan's, Ruth's Chris, Silver Fox, and Jasper's and I would rate this food right up there with the best of them. The Clam Chowder is some of, if not, the best soup I've ever had. The Strip I ordered was cooked to perfection (Medium Rare Plus) and my date had a fillet that was tender and delicious; the stuffed shrimp were the steal of the main course. The service was great; our waiter was attentive but not pushy. All in all, add this stop to the list of great eateries in the Addison area.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first visit to jaxx andOur first visit to jaxx and we had fun. It was surprisingly not busy for a Friday night but our service was wonderful, the hostess who greeted us had a beautiful smile and was very courteous and seated us promptly on our reservation time. Matt was our server and he suggested the ribeye special with fried shrimp. It was really good. I had the petite 8oz filet and that was good as well. It's been a long time that we've had such a good experience at a place in addison so we will return. The cheesecake was wonderful and Matt added a sauce that was amazing. Next time we go we will have to try the bread pudding. Thank you for the gem of a place called Jaxx!!!!!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAsk about the price of specialsI highly recommend Jaxx Steakhouse. The food is outstanding as well as the service. My only disappointment was that I ordered the "special", a seafood combination that was delicious and the presentation was spot on. I did not ask about the price and the waiter did not inform me. Much to my surprise, as well as a bit of shock, my entree was nearly $40! I was NOT expecting that!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNostalgiaI've been going to Jaxx for a long time. It's nostalgic for me, but still good. They have done a difficult thing - keep the quality high.
Best to get a table away from the bar if smoke bothers you - a tiny amount leaks to the nearby tables, but otherwise it's hard to dislike this local landmark with ties to Dallas icons Blackie Sherrod, Mickey Mantle, and Pat Sommeral (among others) .
Don't miss the shrine to Mickey in the back of the bar.
The warm spinach salad is a favorite.
Carnivores should be pleased - steaks are competitive and a little less money than the newer shiny chop houses. Fish is good, too according to my guests who have it.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best steakhousesOne of the best steakhouses in Dallas.
