  • "We always enjoy our evening at Jaxx. It still reminds me of a really nice, cozy grill with the wood paneling a glass partitions. It has been several months since we dined and the food was still good, with my dining partner raving about the clam chowder, as apparently Jaxx's version is one of the best. Service was OK, but nothing spectacular, especially in view that the restaurant was less than half full on a Saturday evening. The real shocker was the total bill at the end of the meal. The two of us each had a cocktail, appetizer, steak entrée and glass of wine, with a final tally of $180. While Jaxx is an enjoyable evening out, it is not a $90/per person dining experience. I hope the small crowd and large tab are not foretelling the future."

  • "Reservation was for four - six actually attended. 3 filets, 1 lamb chops, 1 seafood pasta and 1 halibut special. Everyone at the table was very happy with preparation/presentation of their dinners. While asparagus was not on the menu, some had been purchased that afternoon. It was used as a garnish as well as a vegetable. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!"

Service was shaky at first but got better during the meal, servers were very friendly/nice. Has a 'neighborhood' restaurant feel with a 'Palm steakhouse' twist."

  • "Took my parents there for their 45th wedding anniversary. I stated that in my reservation but it was not even mentioned by the waiter. 3 of us in my party ordered the special, Chilean sea bass. It was ok but when I got the bill, I had no idea it was 41.95! It was good but definitely not worth the price! It was nothing special so I was disappointed. I would've rather ordered at filet and it would've been cheaper. Not sure if I'd go back but I'd get steak instead."

  • "My wife and I decided to try Jaxx for dinner on Saturday night at 7pm. The restaurant was about half full, wine list was light, and the $35 steaks had lots of gristle. The waiter did all he could, including taking my strip steak back and replacing it with a filet, but the filet was delivered rare, rather than medium as I requested. Two main courses, two salads, and two glasses of wine with tip was $130."

  • "I went there to eat healthy fish but all seemed to have a "Lemon Butter" sauce. I asked what other sauce they had and I was told that is it. No lemon wine sauce, all the fish toppings are based with lemon butter. Steak was way undercooked, Rare, when ordered medium. Overall food was good but no options as I easily get in other restaurants"

  • "Since the menu was very limited for Valentines Day you would expect it to be done very well and the service should be also be very good. We did order and the food came out very poorly cooked. The filet my wife had was a very poor cut of meat. We have had better meat at a local steakhouse with a lot less fanfare and cost. I had the prime rib. The meat was over cooked and the baked potato was both cold and under cooked. The only decent part of the meal was the desert. All and all I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. We will not be going there again."

  • "Everything great. Price a little steep. 2 of us with 20% tip at $230. Don't think it's worth 5 star prices. But everything was excellent. One note, called to get a reservation valentines day morning and they said they were booked. Got on opentable and booked the reservation. Called them back to confirm and they did. Odd that I couldn't reserve directly with the restaurant but I could with opentable. There were many open tables. Only guess was that they did try to move me to Saturday. Maybe they were trying to use the holiday to get two nights filled up."

There was only minimal choices of starters, mains and desserts all with a fixed, very expensive price. Hopefully my food experience would be different in a good way on a normal day."

  • "First visit in long time. Looks the same as it did 15 years ago. Large crowd...short wait staff and kitchen help translates into longer dining time than expected. Menu item quality was good and peppercorn sauce remains on of my favorites anywhere. Jaxx potatoes which I remember to be crispy, hot and wonderful were soggy room temp carb bombs. Steak was excellent! Overall a mixed review. Yes I would go back, recommended with some hesitation."

The fish arrived prepared differently then was described so the waiter more than made it up to me and also gave us a free glass of wine. Our only complaint was that the wine we wanted was not available. They explained that Monday inventory is tough because their wine is restocked on Tuesdays. Overall great experience."

  • "Attended NY Eve.First thing waiter said was, "They just sat me a 12-top so wanted you to know I wasn't ignoring you." Waiter was overwhelmed the entire night. They did not have enough staff. Waited for drinks all night. Had to go to bar for limes, waiter forgot. I ordered a double drink, waiter forgot. Called ahead to confirm special menu. Had early reservations; however, they ran out of Prime Rib before 8:00. That was main reason we selected Jaxx. Couple with us had an incorrect order and did not get drinks that were ordered. By this point, we were so annoyed, we didn't bring it up. Mgmt was non-responsive. This is a short summary of a very frustrating night. The food was great but service/operational planning by mgmt ruined it."
