  • Parking Details: Parking is FREE! We are located in the Opera Galleria building which has an attached parking garage with access from LaPorte b/w College and Mason, and on Mason b/w Mountain and LaPorte. The first hour in the garage is free and we are HAPPY to validate your second hour, so you can PARK FOR FREE at Jax! Walk east from the structure through the Galleria to access our door on College. Street parking is also available and FREE for 2 hours, but it is far less plentiful than the parking structure.

However, Saturday night worked for us, and we came, totally enjoyed the ambience, food and great service....we will return.   • "Food was excellent. Unfortunately we ordered a bottle of wine to start and it didn't come out until we finished our appetizers. I should have sent it back and just ordered a glass. The wine was a little warm for a white but certainly not undrinkable, but given that our main course came out a few minutes after opening the bottle, it seemed like we were trying to catch up on drinking it. The waiter didn't really seem to notice. We also had one of the waitresses come over to us just as we sat down to give us someone else's bill. A little strange, and after she asked me twice if I was the person on the card, a table near us finally motioned to her that they were the right party. Seems like this place could use a little more training."

Our waiter greeted us with free champagne and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was very good (esp. the oyster selection). All in all, a great experience both in terms of service and food. Some nice beers on tap, too."

The 'peel and eat' shrimp here are outstanding. the spices they are boiled in and the sauce is like no other, and i'm pretty widely traveled. Happy Hour is great wiht low priced appetizers."

  • "Bar scene energetic and VERY loud. By 6:30, when happy hour over, things quieted down a bit. The fish was excellent, the hamburger one member of the party ordered was overcooked, and accompanied by nothing but lettuce, two itsy slices of dill and a dish of ketchup. An onion, more cheese, a tomato would have helped. Service was very good."

  • "We always enjoy going here! The night we went in was their 3rd anniversary - so they had happy hour specials all night. Their specials are always great! We had such a fantastic meal, and then usually order dessert. We botched on this one and did not find the dessert pleasant. Our waiter realized we had clean plates the whole night, and asked us what we would like instead of the first dessert. When we ended up with the donuts, our mouths watered! Definitely a place to go!"

  • "Its really good food and drinks, but that being said it was annoying that we had a reservation and still had to wait about twenty minutes for our table because the previous guests weren't done eating. Which I totally get, because they don't have many options for tables over 4, but no one was really apologetic and even the waitress could have been more attentive after we were finally sat to get us back up to speed of the original reservation. We waited around to order drinks and food - she was really nice and personable, but it was slightly irritating. I will go back for Happy Hour, but doubt I will do another full meal there."

  • "We had a delicious meal at Jax with excellent service. They offered to let us order off the happy hour menu despite the fact it had technically finished 15 minutes before we sat down. We were given a couple extra plates of food to try including the peel and eat shrimp (where were deliciously messy) and the dynamite seafood happy hour special. Overall, it was our favorite dining experience we had while in Ft. Collins. We highly recommend for a nice evening out."

  • "We've lived in CO for 15 years, mostly near Boulder, and always intended to visit Jax. Never got around to it. We assumed it would be a typical fish restaurant, catch of the day, a couple of preps, etc. But what a surprise! All of the food was great, from the iceberg lettuce salad to the lime pana cotta. But the catfish prep was just great. It's a sort of interesting take on "chicken and waffles", but with catfish. In fact the only weak spot was the chardonnay special which seemed like it might have been a bit oxidized. At $10 a glass, that was a bit disappointing. But it didn't spoil this great meal. It definitely won't be 15 more years to return."

  • "I have to say that we were a little disappointed with our dinner. I understand that the menu does change. We we not really thrilled with any the of dinner choices. I ended up with an appetizer and a salad and my husband did select off the the dinner options. My salad was so-so and my husband thought his entree was way too expensive for what he was served. The last time we went there for dinner...sometime last summer, we had an amazing meal, which was why we chose to go there again. :( "

  • "The food is way to pretentious, and does not even do a good job at being that. This was my second time trying them. I wasn't eager to go back after the first time, but I figured with all the reviews and such that I must have just had a fluke bad experience. But no such luck. The food "looks" well prepared, but the taste and actual quality of the dishes lack any sort of care and intelligence. For the second time, my fish was overcooked, and other items on the plate were even burnt (not just artfully "torched", but burnt, and you could smell it...not very appetizing). Last time I got the Ahi Tuna, this time the snapper...both times horrible!"

  • "First of all the restaurant smelled fishy! I was concerned, but saw a full restaurant of diners and received a recommendation to go here, so I acclimated. I had the Hawaiian Snapper which was good, prepared very basically, but not amazing, it was disappointing. The described accompaniments, except for the English pea puree were overcooked and dry. There were hardly any vegetable accompaniments, more like tiny garnishes. The small slice of leek was fibrous and chewy, perhaps good for flossing. Carrots and potato were small and dried out, furthermore the potato was in no way a confit. Perhaps the description should be corrected to describe the small fried potato square. I can prepare better fish and vegetables at home, in a nicer ambience."
