First time I ever had someone fillet a fish before my eyes for me. Everything was cooked to perfection. Key lime pie was delicious. Noise level is a little high. Our waitress was wonderful. Got seated maybe 10 minutes after 5:00 apparently due to a late-leaving party; no big deal. After getting seated near the rear of the restaurant, it was much quieter and the noise level was not really an issue, as many had predicted. Service was very good, though our waiter seemed to forget us for bits of time. The food was also very good; nice, cold beers and excellent oysters. Everyone's entrees were very good, including the lobster roll,
trout, scallops, and seared tuna. For some reason, the oysters were not as good as they usually are, although it was nice to have them for half off. The mussel soup, the special for the day, was above average, but not quite to the quality that Jax has demonstrated in the past. Finally, a very minor quibble but not insignificant, the beer was $4 during Happy Hour, which is $1 more than it should be, in my estimate. The oysters are fantastic, as are the mussels. On this particular happy hour visit, the noise level was much lower than usual despite the fact that the restaurant was full.
