Diner Reviews
  • "Table waiter very attentive and accommodating for special needs. Food was great. Wine in bottles is expensive, even for moderate quality reds. Wines by glass are very expensive. Food came out timely and as ordered. Hostess was very friendly, gave us a choice of tables. Bar tender service is lousy. Personnel standing around and talking, not proactive to bar customers at all. This restaurant is very pricey, commensurate with the setting in the market Street area, and the food definitely lives up to that, but the overall quality of establishment service can use some improvement."

  • "Food is always good and the service gas never met us down. We've been with a group of 14 as well as just the two of us, and we've never been disappointed. Enjoy the atmosphere and location."

  • "My husband and I made reservations based on recommendations from friends. We were not disappointed! I had the ribs and he had the prime rib, both of which are award winning. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Loved the decor and the feel of the place. Service was hard to beat as well, waiter was friendly. Our only rub, was we got the ribs and they were way too spicy for us. It tasted like the ribs had been sitting awhile and then they rubbed the spiciest spices on top of them and we could taste those spices, but the taste of the meat was not apparent. Maybe it was just so busy or maybe we just do not appreciate the spice like some folks would. Next time we would get the ribs 'plain' I suppose. Great place for a date or group of folks...excellent drinks (albet pricey)"

  • "We went before a concert and valet parked in the center and then walked over to the Pavillion after dinner. Everything was delicious and the service was great. The shrimp and grits appetizer was fabulous, but a little pricey for only 2 shrimp. The Red ruby martini was fantastic as well. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area."

  • "Our waiter was fantastic. The food was so yummy. I would eat here every day. And it was our friend's birthday and they brought out not just one dessert but two! And hugs too."

  • "Had been to Jasper's previously & loved everythiing! This visit was good, just felt it was missing & found pricing a bit steep!"

  • "We have been dining at Jasper's since it opened in The Woodlands. The food is always dependable and the service Saturday night was great. We had made reservations to coordinate with the end of our movie. In this case we got taken upstairs to a room that was more like a warehouse. No ambiance what so ever. It made us wish we had gone to Hubble and Hudson Bistro instead. We will hesitate to go again unless it is for cocktails on the patio."

  • "As always the food was great and the service was good. Will return."

  • "Everything we ordered was fantastic and choosing was made easier by our excellent server- Taryn. She gave great recommendations on specific menu items and she was absolutely right each time! We loved everything she recommended"

  • "I have been to Jasper's several times and it always been a really nice experience. The ambiance is very nice of an intimate dinner, and the food is always delicious. I have tried several different menu items, and they have all been great. Great wine selection as well."

  • "The food here is very good. For a change I ordered the lamb and it was very good and would go back just for that. My boyfriend had the bone in ribeye and said it was very good as well."

  • "My dinner at Jaspers was outstanding. We were promptly greeted and seated. We were seated at an appropriate table, which had an outside view of the surrounding area. This made the evening perfect and greatly added to the ambiance of the whole evening. The orders were promptly taken and the food was served without a wait and the food temperature was outstanding. The wait staff was attentive and very diner-friendly. All of our dining needs were met and handled very professionally. Great place for a quiet dinner with friends or family. This was my second dining experience at Jaspers"

  • "We visited Jaspers for a pre-concert dinner in The Woodlands. We elected to sit outside and at the time we were seated they were empty. WE had good, attentive service, and their gluten-free menu has a variety of choices. The restaurant is a little pricey for an everyday meal, but was a perfect place to watch the crowds before the concert and just have a chance to unwind and relax. The food was well presented and very tasty."

  • "Have been coming to Jasper's with girl friends to celebrate birthdays and other occasions for years. Always good service and great food. This past visit was disappointing. Service and food was not up to the standards we have come to expect. We hope it was just an off day and not going to be the NEW standard. There are lots of upscale resturants to try."

  • "My husband and I ordered different meals from the brunch menu. We told the waiter we were also leaning towards the Shrimp and Grits. He said we could get it as an appetizer. We said great! I called the waiter back to make sure it was not the full meal, but an appetizer portion. He assured us it was! We got it, it had 2 shrimp, in a tortilla shell that could fit in the palm of my hand. The grits were almost non existent. The flavors were good. When we got the check we were charged $17.95 for it. We asked the waiter about the price and he said they only have one size and one price!! If I had gotten that for a main course, I would have sent it back! I feel the waiter was dishonest with us."

  • "Had the filet and it was great as always. It was the Saturday before Fathers day and the service was still great. They need to restock their wine cellar as they were out of several but found one that worked great!"

  • "We came in for Father's day celebration- dinner before James Taylor at the pavillion 6/14 . Service was good, but waitress seemed scattered brain at the end of our dinner.. my son asked for another beer and she forgot. My oher son asked for 7&7 and they used tonic with lime?! Not pleased with those 2 hiccups but over all food was great..."

  • "I reserved a table for 2 for our 2nd year anniversary and we got the worst table in the restaurant. It was a table for 2 in the corner next to the noisy kitchen. We asked if we could move to a booth and the waitress said she had to ask her manager. The food was great but the atmosphere could've been so much better. "

  • "Great friends night out. Great food, great service and great friends!"

  • "This Sunday afternoon in Jasper's was very quiet with very few patrons. The better for us. Our dinner was very relaxed with a normal conversation level. Service was outstanding. Our waiter performed many tasks on and around the table without us even noticing what he was doing. However, he was extremely attentive when needed. The food was excellent as usual."

  • "From the very beginning, the staff looked lost. I had to ask the lady serving us if she was our waitress. We had reservations and waited to be seated We waited fir our drinks a long time. When the food came, I had chicken masa soup and the ribs and potatoes. I enjoyed my Meal very much. My husband ordered the salmon and although good, thought it was priced too high, it cost more than the steaks on the menu he also ordered a tuna dish that was awesome. We left and decided to go somewhere else in town for desert and a drink. We will probably not return. The woodlands has so few fabulous restaurants. This one could be there with the food, but needs better staff management and staff."

  • "The food is still great at Jasper's however their dinner prices are on the climb. My husband had the baby back ribs and I had an appetizer and two skillet veggies and our meal was $80. Add one pear-tini and we are now at $100 including tip! Guess we'll keep Jasper's in mind for happy hour or special occasions only!"

  • "I have been to Jasper's before and enjoyed the experience. This time I did not. I took two people for a business lunch and the service we had was not very good. The waiter was very slow in responding to any request and would disappear to the point where you had to order anything in advance to get it within a reasonable time. I ordered the pork and the portion size was laughable. Most appetizers provide more food than that tiny morsel. It was much too small for the price. We all had a good laugh on how small the food portion was. It was cooked well and tasted good but need to be at least 3X bigger. Afterwards I stopped by Jamba Juice to make up for the super small food portions. Overall we had poor service and small food portions."

  • "Excellent dinner. We were lucky enough to get the copper river salmon and I've never had it prepared more perfectly- and I am very picky. We ordered the desert trio which is huge, but allowed us to sample all the fab desserts that we wanted to try. It was our anniversary and we were so glad we went. Cocktails were perfection. "

  • "The food was just okay - expect more when you spend $200 for two people. My husband's baked potato was hardly cooked. Hubbell and Hudson is SO much better! "
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "Ambience is about like a Outback Steak House, and really the food was very much the same as a chain restaurant. Jasper's prices are to expensive for the quality, no table cloths , no salad with entree , no hot bread or rolls and $50 for the KC Strip with some green potatoes."
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "Jasper's has a nice feel, beautiful outdoor bar with fireplace and small dining area. Happy hour menu looked good, well priced and tons of people. Food is good but over powered by sauces. I had ribs and potatoe salad. BBQ sauce was too salty and overwhelmed the meat. I tried to wipe some off, but it had been marinated or something that kept it on. This would be great if not so heavy. Potatoe salad was excellent! My husband had corn incrusted trout and liked it very much. The bar drinks are excellent, innovative, fresh. Thai Mule was served in copper and really refreshing. Nice wine list. Upstairs more intimate, comfy, easier to talk. Tremendous service. Attentive without intrusion."

  • "If you put anything in the request line from OpenTable be sure to call the restaurant and verify that they are able to do what you ask. We asked for a specific server and was told 2 days prior that this person was working for the day of the reservation, then the day of they called to confirm our reservation and when I asked them about the server we requested I was told that person had the day off."

  • "Very good brunch selection. Food was freshly prepared. The menu pricing was fair for the quality of food and service. I recommend Jasper's over the other area brunch places. "

  • "My husband and I went to the Woodlands to shop, eat, and listen to music. We chose Jasper's because the chef is well known. I am a vegetarian and there isn't one item to eat off the entre menu. It would be nice to have 1-2 offerings without meat. I ended up with special Saturday night thinking it was without meat (from the server's introduction) but it was tossed with sausage. They did make me a vegetarian version of the pasta dish and it came quickly. The setting was nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We would recommend Jaspers."
