  • "The service was awesome, the food was very good as well. The website is a little misleading, when they say we could have wine flights, and then they did not offer them at the actual restaurant. That is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. "

  • "made a reservation for a table of 11 for brunch at 11:15 on a sunday morning...place was basically empty but it took them a half hour to get a table ready, despite the reservation...never gave us menus...I never do reviews, but the service here was so bad, I cannot believe this was the Serrano hotels' restaurant. Asked for the wine list to get champagne, and all they had none of the 4 champagne's listed, just the bad house champagne they use for their bottomless mimosa's (which were a joke, since we could never get them to bring a second one after it took over a half hour to get the first one. Seemed to have no manager on duty, all the staff seemed to have no experience ever working in a restaurant before."

  • "So few places in the area that are fun and unique and lack the hoards of tourists."

  • "Jasper's is in a great spot for pre-theater or after work or after convention activities. The atmosphere looks like a good after-work bar, which it is. There is a lively bar for mixing and flirting. But the food in the restaurant portion is all a cut above what one might expect. We had fine riblets and deviled eggs as appetizers and excellent rib eye, flank steak, fish and chips. All were well executed. So, go to Jasper's, have a mixed drink, a good glass of wine or a tasty beer and stay for the food."

  • "Very busy bar and difficult to attract bar staff's attention. We placed our drink order from our table, however, it took 20 minutes before our beers were served, our calamari appetizer was quickly served and was delicious After waiting 45 minutes for our entree we talked to the manager about the delay. The manager informed us our entree order had not been placed and apologized. After another wait 2 of the 4 entrees were served, however, they forgot to serve the additional entrees which were eventually served (cold). The duty manager then graciously apologized and gave us a credit."

  • "I went in expecting a typical Taphouse -- good beer selections and standard pub food fare. It was SO much better than that. We tried the deviled eggs, spiced nuts, J's burger, and the fondue fries along with a salmon tartare. The food was stunningly good. Probably the best burger I've had in months. Beer selection is actually a bit weak, but they make up for it with innovative cocktails."

  • "I had a craving for the John Ford, a specialty cocktail. It did not disappoint. My wife had the Ramona and liked it equally as much. Our menu picks were the pretzel, cucumber salad, short ribs and chicken with Risotto. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. Everything was awesome and super delicious. Tee, our waiter, was very attentive. My wife had a little cough. He gave her a Riccola. Awesome move!"

  • "We went here for a late dinner and the food was pretty good. They have good beers on tap and delicious salads and main entrees. The neighborhood is not that nice, but if you are already there for an event or show, then this place is a good find."

  • "Hi, I went to Jaspers a few nights ago for the first time. I had the fish & chips, they were great. My servers name was Nicolas and he was wonderful. Very attentive and helpful about the menu options. He also knew all about the drinks and was able to give a fantastic recommendation for me and my boyfriend. My only complaint is that the drinks took too long. At first we ordered two diet cokes and they took to long, along with out beers later. The food came out at the perfect time and so did our dessert."

  • "Although I would like to see a bigger menu, the food they did make was very good. Their calamari is very tasty and their bartenders take a lot of pride in making delicious cocktails."

  • "My dining companion enjoyed the shaved brussels sprouts with hazelnuts and bacon, along with a small plate of pork riblets in a citrus infused broth with scallions. My thick cut pork chop was juicy and perfectly cooked, as were the greens with bacon lardons and mustard gastrique. Drinks were well prepared and stiff! Good service."

  • "The food was good, but not great. Nothing memorable enough for me to even put it here. The service was bad; 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged at our table and then another five before we were offered drinks. One of two appetizers came at the same time as our meals although they were ordered with plenty of time apart. Had to wait 15 minutes to get our check after signaling to our server that we were ready. The noise level was just plain ugly. Between their concrete floors and low ceilings it was impossible for me and my dining partner to hear each other. Like everyone around us the only way to have a conversation was by yelling which just made the entire situation worse."

  • "We had been before and enjoyed the food enough to ignore minor service glitches. This time there was no over-coming them. Our table was so dark that we think the staff couldn't see us. That would explain why it took 20 minutes for someone to greet us. One of the dishes we ordered was brought twice, and the runner was so distracted that he didn't even notice that the dish was already on the table The manager that finally took our order did check back wtih us, but offered no apology, and was not friendly. She did take the time to chat up the regulars at the table next to ours. We don't have the endurance to become regulars, I'm afraid. The food at Jaspers is great for elevated pub food, but I recommend you sit in the bar."

  • "We were there on a quiet Sunday afternoon for our second visit, which was far worse than our first. The service was slow. The food came out quickly - before our drinks even arrived. We watched as our drinks sat on the bar, and no fewer than five employees walked by them repeatedly empty-handed, and not one of them bothered to grab them and bring them to us even though we were one of maybe five parties there. By the time we got our cocktails, they were watered down because the ice was melting. Pretty lame. The deviled eggs were delicious, but the fondue fries could have been delicious but they had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp or on the counter, also waiting to be picked up."

  • "Love having this place so close when staying at the Serrano. Love the grilled cheese without the pork belly (even my meat-eater friends prefer it without the pork). The restaurant is undergoing changes, hopefully service and food will even out wen they work out the kinks. Great fries, good beer selection. I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there--it is hit or miss right now, but I am hopeful it will be mostly hits in the future."

  • "I got a reservation for a large group (10+) on short notice, and they were great about it, gave us a big table in a semi-private area. Everyone enjoyed their meals (burgers, salads, entrees) and the selection of local beers was excellent and well priced. We also had great apps--the warm olives and the butcher block in particular were hits. Folks also appreciated the small bites and different size options to be able to try more things on the menu."

  • "I made a reservation for brunch as the time was available for open table. I arrived to be questioned if I was here for breakfast or lunch. I said brunch, they said, we don't serve that, and we don't take breakfast reservations, and lunch hasn't started....???????? not the welcome I was looking for. The brunch menu shown on open table was not an option, so we ordered breakfast. It was pretty good. It was a ghost town in there, though."

  • "I love the food at this place. We went with a group of 7 which became 9 so ill give some credit for the time delays with the big groups that were there but to get our drinks took a while. Upwards of 15 minutes to get a round of drinks the food service was really quick. one of my friends ordered food and drink at the same time he recieved his food and was almost done by the time his drinks came.,"

  • "On our visit to Jasper's, there was a table of four that garnered unusual attention by the wait staff. Several of the servers, including ours, chatted at the table for minutes at a time. After our server took our order, she spent two long shifts at "the table" and finally another server brought our entrees along with my wife's soup because the soup and salad had not been brought to the table, and said he would bring my salad. I cancelled my salad order, apparently, much to the surprise of the server who brought our food and our server who eventually made it back to our table. Would I go back? Probably not. The food was good (great fries), but not so exceptional that I would risk having an inattentive wait staff experience again."

  • "Food was average at best, the staff were incredibly slow even though the place was practically empty. Had to follow up our order more than 3 times. Awful."

  • "This is my first time there. Extensive beer and cocktail menu. Good, homey food. Really enjoyed the ribettes. They were very tender. The fish and chips were good too. My only comment is that the dining area was a little too dark. Overall great experience."

  • "A group of 4 of us had dinner before going to the theater. Just beyond a very vibrant bar scene is an attached room with several tables for their restaurant. The atmosphere is lively without feeling like one is sitting in the bar area. The deviled eggs are exceptional. The salmon, cheeseburger, and muscles are also excellent. One of my friends spent time in Belgium and was impressed with their selection of Belgium beers. The server was attentive without being overbearing. All round good place!"

  • "Yummy food and a fun cocktail selection. Get the chef's special poutine appetizer and it was Delicious. Been here twice and it is so good ! Steak frites is a fave. Lots of fries served here and they are delicious. Dieters beware: Not a place to go if you want salads."

  • "I have been wanting to eat here for quite awhile and am so glad that I finally tried it! Even with a large group of 7, including 2 kids and a vegan, the staff was very accommodating! The food was outstanding and I loved the variety. The pretzels were to die for; we had several orders, same for the deviled eggs! The Chicago dog was a big hit, and we had two orders of the kale salad. This is neighborhood gem; don't stay away due to its location. It is worth the visit!"

  • "Went to Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen. We ordered a variety of small share plates for the table. Everything that came out of the kitchen was tender and had great taste. The beer selection was good but they had some beers I wanted to try on the menu but they ran out. It was a bit noisy but it was a saturday night during the holiday shopping spree so I guess it is to be expected. The best thing on the menu was the house made ice cream sandwich with tres leches sauce. It's presented like a grilled cheese and tomato soup. It's so cute and delicious. The ice cream sandwich was too frozen but let that baby sit in that awesome tres leches bowl and it's on!"

  • "This place is my #1 neighborhood favorite. Whenever I want a juicy, tasty burger and beer, Jasper's is the place. The staff are friendly and unpretentious. The menu has good variety without being overwhelmingly large. And the beer selection is fun."

  • "Warm and attentive service brought us hand cut fries smothered in fondue cheese. The burgers were yummy and the seared tuna sandwich was devine. Great with the salad but better with the sweet potato fries, crusted with Jasper's blend of spices. Excellent beverage list and knowledgable staff make the bar experience as good as the food."

  • "We are always looking for Sunday brunch options in the city. Unfortunately most SF restaurants stop doing brunch by 11 am, but Jasper's Sunday brunch goes to early afternoon. We were really pleased with Jasper's ! The food was excellent! The portion size was just right! We will be back."

  • "This place was not remembered for its service, however what it lacked in service it made up for in food. Great brunch selection as well as great burger!! I got it with goat cheese instead of blue cheese and it was superb. The atmosphere was great as well. Had all the sports games on and again the food was spot-on perfect, great flavors and depth. Also a pretty damn good beer selection from tap and bottle. Around 40-50 selections, nothing too crazy."
