The appetizers: wonton soup and dim sum basket were very good. The waiter,Lin, seemed upset we didnt order alcohol, but it may just be his facial expressions. He didnt seem happy and very reserved which was a bit disconcerting. The main dishes sweet and sour pork and the walnut glazed shrimp was good. The real treat was the jasmine fried rice which was delicious. Peking Duck 2 Ways was beautifully prepared table-side, and our mouths were watering before we took our first bites of the tender meat and crunchy skin with scallions and hoisin sauce wrapped in delicate crepes. A wall of giant windows looked out to the amazing water show at the front of the Bellagio. Elegant butterfly motifs were everywhere, on the wallpaper, in the ornate orchid and rose floral arrangements and the beautiful china. Servers were polite and attentive. I loved the original use of the leftover duck meat in a second course. The staff was spectacular - our waitress actually discouraged us from ordering additional items if we were getting the duck, and was absolutely correct.
In addition to the simply superb food, the restaurant happens to look out on the fountains at the Bellagio, which also provided for excellent dinner entertainment.

My friend's father was celebrating his 90th, his brother was celebrating his 61st. 7 year old nephew was just about to turn 8. I was turning 66 and my friend 52.
Staff, led by Sarah (Sara?) were truly amazing. They treated all of us like royalty. They went out of their way to serve the 7 year old food modified to his unsophisticated taste while making sure out entrees were flavorful and succulent.
One of the absolutely highlights was being able to watch the hotel's "Dancing Waters" extravaganza from up close.

Worth going almost for that. The wine we ordered was not overpriced for a decent Chablis but the food itself was more of an American style Chinese than that of the advertised authentic Cantonese. Now I admit that we had one person who had studied in China and myself that has visited countless times so perhaps we are being overly picky. It was nicely presented and staff were friendly. I took 'Kiss of a Dragon' martini, it was awesome and I had to go for a second one. Service was excellent. I definitely recommend this restaurant.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
