A word from Jane
Jane is a casual American bistro located between Greenwich Village and Soho. We had heard great things about the brunch at Jane and needless to say we were completely blown away by everything. Food was prepared to perfection, the waitstaff was accommodating, friendly and attentive, and the drinks and coffee were amazing. Very easy to see why reservations are so difficult to get and why the wait time can approach two hours without a reservation. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing weekend brunch!

Specially went there for the gnocchi. It was delicious. Had the steak frittes for dinner and that was delicious as well. Group had the squid ink pasta, steak salad, salmon, and swordfish. The only dish that was not well received was the swordfish with risotto.

We had an 6:30 RSV, it was almost stark, how it filled up quickly. Tables are just a little too close together. With that being said the noise level wasn't noticeable. Causal attire and great food what could be better. Oysters were DELICIOUS, per our table BEST IN THE CITY!!!

Great tasty food ( I ordered the steak salad, so good) and friendly staff - just a little bit busy and noisy during weekends. I celebrated my bday, so they came with a piece of delicious cake with a candle in it, that's sweet and really good service.

Gnocchi recommended by the hostess Elisabeth was amazing. She gave us a great table in the back. The server was excellent. He made sure we never had an empty glass. My only complaint would be that my scallops were cold and the mussels were not as fresh as we would have hoped for but the gnocchi was awesome and the service was great. The Rosemary fries were great too. Just some of the entrees were lackluster. I'm sure they would have fixed the scallops but I didn't say anything because it wasn't that big of a deal, I still enjoyed the meal.

My husband and I come to NY 3-4 times a year and always try to catch Sunday Brunch at Jane! Wonderful food! Super cool atmosphere! Friendly wait staff! And complimentary brunch cocktail after noon! Reservations are a must. I could make a meal from the delicious raisin and nut bread that is served in the bread basket! Jane also changes their menu seasonally so that there are always different choices of entrees. My husband loves the Huevos Rancheros with shrimp and avocado!

Decided to try Jane based on open table and urban spoon reviews for brunch with a friend. We were not disappointed , we arrived earlier than our reservation time and the place was packed but we were seated at our reservation time. The service was friendly and fast. I had the most delicious cocktail , Sonata # 8 (or something like that), actually I had two. My friend had something else equally good but switched to my drink for her second. I had the frittata and she had steak salad. Both dishes were great. A bonus my friend ordered a side of Mac and cheese croquette , man that thing was decadent and delicious. I go to soho pretty regularly and will definitely go here again.

Jane was fantastic. Friends were coming into town and I made a reservation initially for 4 and then upped it to 7. They were more than willing to change the number for the group and be attentive to the fact that we had a baby with us. They seated us downstairs which was wonderful. Although we didn't get to see outside, we had a ton of space and the baby's parents felt very comfortable walking around when he got fussy. The food was great - it's my husband's favorite place (lobster benny), but everything else was good too - we're close enough that we all shared (i.e., baked eggs, french toast, bacon, etc.). Definitely recommend this place for couples, for groups, for families (especially if you're seated downstairs).

Been to Jane before and loved the food both times, however the maitre d was not very accomodative as our party had downsized from 10 to 8, and it was not croweded at Jane's so they could have acquiesced to our request to move us upstairs instead of keeping us in the dank setting in the basement.

I loved my Eggs Benedict with Crawfish cake...but my friend found her Crepes to be cold in temp. She sent it back and said the replacement was cold as well. I tried it and it was warm. However, the hostess gave us a free dessert to make up for it. I think it is a great place! And the food is really good!

This place is conveniently located with parking out front on a Sunday. Brunch meal options range from very good to okay. Frittata was in the very good category. Most of the other egg dishes seemed to be in the okay category. Restaurant had benefit of taking reservations for brunch which is why we ended up here.

This restaurant is an absolute neighborhood gem in the West Village. I had a party of 4 and three people ordered the chicken (my dad said he would "drink the gravy" on the plate because it was so delicious. I ordered the steak frites - the rosemary french fries were absolutely to die for! Of course we ordered dessert - apple crostada and milk and cookies. It was such an amazing and delicious meal. The service was impeccable. The downstairs of the restaurant is fit for large groups.

I used to love this place. Hadn't been there in a few months, and decided to return back. The only good thing about this time around is that we didn't have to wait for a table even if we had a reservation. The service was just ok, the waitress was attentive, although she decided to strike up a long chat with the table next door and invading my personal space with her behind. Very annoying. The food used to be great, but they changed the menu, and clearly not working out. The food was really nothing special, even the gnocchi, which I used to love, didn't come out right. Asked for my steak medium, and it came almost bloody, and had to send it back. Sad, but would not go back again.

Date night dinner was good, not great. Dining room felt a bit hotel-like. Cookie cutter furniture. Drab neutrals. No charm or personality. However, given first impression, food was surprisingly inventive. Diver scallops with basil was a first for me. Will not likely go back for dinner - lots of NYC area restaurants with inventive menus and interesting decor – but would consider for a company event. I caught a glimpse of a private party in the downstairs space that (for me) had the right ambiance. Dim but well distributed light, low ceiling, rich color palette. Felt special and much more considered than the main floor.

This is the first time where the food was so disappointing. In particular, the salmon was too salty. It was so salty that my mouth was left with an aftertaste the next day (salt may have caused some sort of irritation). So now when I think of Jane's, I am reminded by that salty salmon. I selected Jane's at the spur of the moment with a friend and colleague. I thought, selecting Jane's, was a sure bet. My other visits have been great and I even attended a wedding reception in the lower level. I am sure this was an aberration but your taste buds could care less about that fact.

Came here last Sunday after not having come in 4 years. Ambiance was great, service was great, seated quickly with a reservation, but the food was not what I remembered it to be, which is why I gave this review a 3 star. Maybe it was the dishes we picked but we were both disappointed with the chef's beef eggs Benedict and the huevos rancheros.
