Amazing creative takes on eggs Benedict and everything else.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good and very busyAll and All Jane is a great place to get really tasty food. It can be quite crowded on the weekend for brunch. We had a reservation but still had to wait around 20 minutes or so for our table. They were very nice and gave up some french toast when arrived which made us feel like a valued customer!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AM5:30 5/11/13 5 ppl pre-theater.5:30 5/11/13 5 ppl pre-theater. Wonderful ambiance, seated in round-top right rear corner near kitchen entrance our server JD was always accessible. This was our second attempt to eat at Jane since our first in October saw us waiting post-theater until after 11 and we had to leave. Our revisit was rewarded with an execellent and relaxing meal. Early arrival gave us dining luxury as Jane filled-up quickly after 6PM. Warm bread/olive oil got us started. Had gnocchi appetizer on friend's recommendation and it was SUPERB! The toasty flavor and crusty parm was a wonderful contast to the gnochhi pillow. We used bread to wipe the bowl! My NY Strip was awesome and raves to the balsamic onion marmalade. We shared the fries, artichokes and broccoli.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunchDefinitely check Jane out for a great brunch! If you like eggs Benedict, they have so many to choose from! The classic & short rib eggs benedict were great. Their granola with yogurt, bananas & strawberries was awesome! Brunch items also include a free drink. Staff was friendly and overall look of Jane is charming.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at JaneEven if it was crowded we enjoyed it ! The noise level was high but did not bother us. It was extremely busy, but at no time did we ever feel rushed to eat and move on. Our server and the rest of the service team were so efficient, polite and professional. I will most DEFINITELY be going back!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMJane is a new brunch favoriteWe found Jane by accident, just looking for a good place to have brunch in the City. I made a reservation online for 11:15 and we were seated within two minutes of arriving. The place was packed! Great food, and I had the best grits ever in a place not located in the South. The ham and eggs were wonderful, too, as was the biscuit. We had a delicious mixed fruit plate as well. Very filling, and very satisfied. Lots of choices. I was tempted to try the vanilla French toast which apparently is a favorite. Maybe next time. They focus on high quality and local ingredients, which matters. Our server was fabulous. Very friendly, prompt and always making sure the coffee cup was refilled. BTW, the coffee was outstanding.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA fantastic place for brunchThough I don't live in the city, I visit periodically and Jane for brunch is on the "must do list." The food is among the best that I have had anywhere in the world; I have never seen a place which more fresh, original, and DELICIOUS takes on eggs benedict. As with all restaruants, it is the service here that really sets the place apart. I must thank Alison for her assistance with an issue recently that took me away from the table for awhile. I expected an attitude and received a very gracious and professional approach. Thanks to Alison and Jane for another first rate brunch experience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday BrunchGreat Sunday Brunch find in the neighborhood! However, the girl in front sitting ppl was rude and expect a lot of attitude from her.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur experience dining at JaneOur experience dining at Jane was very pleasant. It was not too noisy so our group could easily talk and the food was delicious and reasonably priced.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMIn one word ah-mazing everythingIn one word ah-mazing everything about it from the food to the service.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and well preparedGreat service and well prepared food! Perfect for brunch3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a reservation for 2 atHad a reservation for 2 at 10AM on Easter Sunday and somehow managed to snag the two-top by the front window. Score! Our server (Australian?) was super friendly, funny and attentive. Loved the way he said "bananas" - so cute. We ordered Benedict Johnny and Vanilla Bean French Toast which were delivered so fast. Every bite was delicious! Two thumbs up, Jane!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Easter BrunchAs a visitor to NYC, I based my decision to make Easter brunch reservations at Jane on the other's reviews. We were not disappointed! The first thing that impressed me was the fact that they accommodated us even though we were late for our reservation due to "issues" with the subway. There was a large crowd waiting outside, but they were very nice and understanding. Second, our server was awesome. He had a great personality and was very attentive but not annoying. He told us about the specials, including the prices, readily answered all questions about the menu, and never made us feel rushed. Finally, the food was yummy! We both had the Benedict Johnny. The corn cake was a little too sweet for my taste, but otherwise it was delicious.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighbourhood gemI'm a regular at Jane and would always come back! Their brunch menu is famous for the diverse selection of Eggs Benedict, while their dinner menu is famed for its ricotta gnocchi (which is truly to die for). What I love most about Jane is that they are unpretentious, and only aim to serve simple food with little fuss. The wait staff there are always extremely chirpy and are a joy a speak to.
This time we ordered the mussels, ricotta gnocchi, butternut squash risotto and mushroom soup. The gnocchi was excellent, if a little heavy, but is great for sharing. The mild smokiness of truffle oil and the slight charred bottoms of the fresh gnocchi is amazing.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!I have gone here for brunch a few times. If you can get over the large crowds, you will find delicious food with an energetic atmosphere. Try the french toast- you won't be disappointed!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI am in love with Jane! II am in love with Jane! I really underestimated how packed this place can get and how popular it is. A pleasant food surprise is always a good one. J.P., our waiter for the time, was also pretty darn awesome if you ask me.
The french toast is on my list of the most wonderful things I have ever had the opportunity to eat. I will be coming back with my besties here in the near future.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a party of 6. ReservationWe were a party of 6. Reservation for 7:30 and we were seated promptly. Waitstaff was very attentive. Pork meatball appetizer was DELICIOUS as were the short ribs. All enjoyed our food. Didn't feel rushed to leave. Very enjoyable, would return.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with 3 other girlfriendsWent with 3 other girlfriends to start off a not-too-rowdy bachelorette party. We had a comfortable table in the corner, with a very attentive, friendly, and funny waiter. The food and cocktails were all delicious. I had a calamari salad, which was a special, it had a nice bit of heat in the sauce but not tear-inducing. For the main dishes, two of use had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly, one had mussels and fries, and one had the gnocchi which was raved about. We didn't have dessert there, but only because we were moving on to somewhere else for the rest of the celebration. There were some nice choices on the dessert menu, I was disappointed but overruled. I would definitely go back.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHoly gnocchi!!!Gnocchi that will change your life. Whatever you do, just order it.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, consistent food in aGood, consistent food in a classic NYC ambiance. Lunch choices are creative without being overly fussy. Somewhat expensive but the fries are worth every penny and they pile them up on most lunch dishes. A good, upscale lunch3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMObsessed with the BenedictObsessed with the Benedict Jane. It was amazing! I will definitely be back to try everything. And the Bloody Mary was actually the best Bloody Mary I've had in NYC. I brought and expert along and she also agreed.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMYUM!!I've been wanting to try Jane for awhile and was only able to get a 3pm brunch on Sunday but it was 100% worth it! I ordered the special short ribs benedict which was amazing, plus most of the dishes you order during brunch comes with a complementary cocktail. I would highly recommend this place!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHad to wait a bit for theHad to wait a bit for the table, but only like 15 minutes. The service was fast, decor was gorgeous, and the french toast was unbelievable. Definitely recommend!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMTwo things to note about Jane:Two things to note about Jane: 1. their french toast is awesome; 2. there is usually a long wait to get in especially during the weekends for brunch. With that mentioned, try to come here as early as possible. The portions are decent-sized, so if you want to share the french toast and something else, you can do that without feeling like you didn't eat enough. Overall, great brunch place in a great location, but not sure if it's worth a two hour wait.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy date had an egg-white omeletMy date had an egg-white omelet and I had the scrambled country eggs. Both were large portions and were delish. Fresh bread brought to table was outstanding. And I really enjoyed the biscuit that came with the eggs also. The place, though, is extremely noisy and crowded so you have to be in the mood for that.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food. We were so,Wonderful food. We were so, so glad we had reservations as the wait would have been over 90 minutes. We would have come again if hwe had had the time. Highly recommend it!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best Thing I Ever AteLast year my sister-in-law were drawn to Jane as we heard that the Toasted Ricotta Gnocchi with Italian parsley, parmesan and white truffle crema would be one of the best things we would ever eat. We had to make a stop and see what all the fuss was about.
I can confirm that the Toasted Ricotta Gnocchi is one of the best things I ever ate. My sister-in-law and I made a repeat visit to NY this March with my brother and took him to Jane for another amazing meal which began with the Toasted Ricotta Gnocci.
Jane has a decor that is warm, inviting and has a charming neighborhood vibe. The service is solid and the wait staff is friendly and engaging. And you can't go wrong with any of the food choices, just start with the Gnocchi first.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, ambiance & service.Great food, ambiance & service. Can't wait to go back for brunch!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great. Had the arugalaFood was great. Had the arugala salad, burrata, and tortellini in mushroom sauce. Delicious! Also the drinks are great and refreshing! Would go back.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat waiterThe menu has lots of variety and the food is solid. The service that I experienced though was truly outstanding. We were two couple catching up on a Saturday night. We took way too long to order and had lots of questions. Our waiter never pressured us. One of us spilled our wine in another's food. The waiter swooped in and replaced the food quickly and without charging us. I would go back just because of the service, but I enjoyed the food as well.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent food service andexcellent food service and atmosphere, but they were a bit late on a reserved table as they were massively overcrowded1/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for Brunch!Awesome brunch place.
