Jamison is one of my favorite spots in the Pearl, especially for the patio. We celebrated a special occasion recently ~ and it let us down. Service was spotty and even on a Friday night, there seemed to be a lack of help. Bottles of wine opened and set on our table, not poured. Also a stack of plates and forks were just handed to us - so that we could set up our own place settings. What happened to service?? I haven't experienced bad service at this restaurant until now. The salmon (my fave) was so undercooked I couldn't get it off the skin and portions of the sides were much smaller. Maybe just a fluke bad night - I will still try it again. Flatbreads are amazing! Patio needs a little more light late at night, and light music.

  • Disappointing experience
    Birthdaybust
    Dined on 8/6/2014
The food lacked flavor (flatbread with roasted pear and walnuts almost tasteless), the steak was unevenly cooked and the wait staff less than attentive (the upfront hostess was very nice and the man refilling waters but our waitress-not so much). It was my husband's birthday and I called in advance to ask if they do anything special. I was told yes they did and would bring a special dessert, etc., it was clear that night the waitress either wasn't told or didn't care, but she never mentioned anything and by the end of dinner we were so ready to bail we just had ice cream around the corner - that was the best experience of the night. The outside location is great. That's about the most I can recommend. I won't be returning

My clients had been traveling and working hard for a few days before arriving in Portland. I invited them to Jamison, and made sure they were seated so they were looking out into the park. I arrived early and had appetizers for the table immediately on their arrival. Let's just say it was one of the most successful business dinners -- we could easily hear each other to share ideas and information, and they were impressed by the location and completely captivated by the food. They kept saying they wished so-and-so from their team could have also made it, he would have loved this. It was a great way for them to really understand the vibe of The Pearl, and how seriously we all value good, good food.

we hit this place after watching Book of Mormon, mostly because they were actually a place in Portland that serves dinner at 1030p. The drinks were really made well by their bartender. The food was really good, too. Our waitress (sorry, I forgot her name!) was so friendly and loved that all 4 of us slammed our empty muscle shells back on the plate upsidedown after finishing them like shot glasses. We never felt rushed. If we'd been smart, we would have listened to her and ordered our cab before dessert because on a friday night there aren't a lot of cabs around. My wife and i were still waiting outside for a ride when our waitress rode out on her bike going home. She expressed so much concern for us! All around great!

Meal was amazing, I've been back for the plank salmon twice in a week. It's cooked to absolute perfection and the family style potatoes and snap peas are delish!!!! My husband and I had a fantastic night at Jamison! Their drinks menu was delicious and the food was exceptionally well seasoned. The portions were a great size to allow us to have a three course meal. The butterscotch pudding was a surprising twist on a classic. There weren't many other patrons at the restaurant on a Sunday evening which meant we got ample attention from our server and never had to ask for a thing! It was a wonderful experience all around and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great date spot!

The restaurant is lovely to look at with the feeling of semi privacy because of how the tables are laid out. Our server was friendly but she lacked paying attention. She brought the wrong breakfast meat on one plate. We had to ask for coffee. The food was lukewarm and the coffee was cold. Our refill came hot. If the service stepped up and the food was hot, it could have been very good. I will not be in hurry to return.

You need to have time on your side to dine here. Food i have to say was excellent HOWEVER get real and increase the portions. 5 small scallops for high priced entree ... We are used to higher prices as we travel a lot however low value here. Resto is nicely decorated and to dine outside on the park in summer is lovely. Careful le fenouil went under for the same reason.

Having a gift certificate, we decided to cash it in on Jamison. We went on a Friday evening for a 6 p.m. dinner reservation and the restaraunt was not busy and we were immediately greeted by the hostess and sat next to a large fireplace. We immediately notice an attention to detail to the decor and making the urban space warm and inviting with rustic touch. Our server was attentive and enjoyable. The flat bread and asparagus we had for appetizers were great. My Cesar was only memorable because it lacked flavor. Dinners were both fantastic salmon for my wife and the steak for me. We should have passed on the dessert and popped into the ice cream shop across the street. Overall, food was good. Service and ambiance were the stars!

Sunday morning brunch was disappointing. The "hash browns" were a thin layer of translucent potatoes that were fried crisp. The breakfast sandwich was really greasy and disappointing. The biscuit in the sandwich had been burned on the bottom, from the grill I imagine. There are few choices for a vegetarian option. Would love fruit instead of the potatoes! Perhaps a tomato or avocado instead of the bacon. Not sure if we will be back.

The hash browns were hard, biscuit was cold, they came out one plate at a time so everyone at the table had to wait until the last person got their plate. Forgot to bring a side order until asked for. Waitress was really pushy to get us out the door, she kept coming up to the table until we all finished our meals. Overall it was a bad experience, I had better hopes for a place on the Pearl, they don't deserve the location due to their snooty and pretentious attitude.

Food was good/very_good and service excellent (attentive but not hovering). Had a large party which appeared to be nicely sequestered. However, for whatever reason, layout of restaurant had significant foot traffic intruding on this space from both staff attending to patrons and patrons moving to and from the bathroom in uncomfortably close proximity to the table.

I had a great friend coming in to town and was looking for somewhere new to meet up. I found Jamison on Open Table and the reviews were spot on. We had a wonderful time, the service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. We ordered a few different appetizers to share with the group (8) and each was amazing. The dinner portions were a little bit small. We had so many starters that it ended up being enough food, but if you are going for dinner only, you will need to keep this in mind and is the only reason I gave the food a 4 star instead of 5.

Went to Jamison before going to Sister Act last Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprise. I had the Braised short ribs with herb polenta(rosemary) and it was excellent. Had a taste of my wife's ricotta, spiced coppa and arugula salad and it was very good too! Other people in our group had the seared stuffed pork chop and a couple of the different flatbreads and all gave positive comments and reviews. Atmosphere was not noisy at all which was great for being able to visit! Decent wine selection but I have seen better! Overall a very nice place for a good evening out!

Brunch at Jamison is awesome! The menu is fantastic, and the chef is amazing. It's worth going, just for the homemade Buttermilk Biscuits! The food is excellent, as well as the drinks, and the ambiance is cozy, especially by the fireplace. I love the handmade wooden tables. The service is excellent, too. I've gotten great service by Emily the last two times I was there, and the hostess was also very helpful. ALL of the employees are helpful and friendly; it's a favorite brunch spot for me!

This was our first time at Jamison. We are a small dining club out of Forest Grove and decided to give Jamison's a try. First off we normally have 8-10 people in our group, but on this night we were down to four. I called ahead and spoke to someone at the restaurant and he assured me he will accomodate us....Boy did he. We were reserved for a table of 8 or more and he put us at a table of 4 right next to the fireplace...Bonus points from the ladies on this one :)....Our server was very prompt and took care of all of our needs....Great flavorful food. Decor was fresh/moden and very clean.......Overall we really enjoyed Jamison
