Knowledgeable servers; preparations that let the fresh ingredients shine. Love the dorade on the bone.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and attentive staff.Great food and attentive staff. A little bit noisy, but not overpowering. Definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and a very pleasant atmosphere.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFive star dining!!We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Fish - it will definitely not be our last! From the pleasant service to the gorgeous presentation, and not least the amazing food, our dining experience was top-notch. We would love to come again in the summertime when the outdoor patio and bar are open. The restaurant does not have a freezer so everything is made fresh - a detail that was not lost on us! The swordfish and halibut were tender and delicious. (And the homemade mint ice cream was to die for :) While we will probably be saving a repeat visit for a special occasion, we are definitely looking forward to it!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMby far one of the best restaurantsby far one of the best restaurants I've been to. food was incredible and the service was outstanding! Thanks so much to Fish for a very special night.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDining at Jamestown Fish wasDining at Jamestown Fish was an absolute delight. My boyfriend and I (from Providence) found out about Newport Restaurant Week near the end and picked Jamestown Fish as our one shot at participating in the week, and boy, were we pleased with our decision. I was thrilled that the chef was able to craft a delicious vegetarian dish based on my preferences, and my boyfriend was impressed by the waitress' disclosure that the kitchen doesn't even have a freezer, other than a small drawer for ice cream, because all of their seafood is brought in fresh that day. The presentation was beautiful, the decor gorgeous and simple, service abundantly helpful, and food absolutely amazing. This is a great find.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first visit to JamestownOur first visit to Jamestown Fish was a great experience. We will go again.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAn extremely adequate wineAn extremely adequate wine list pairs well with an unbelievable menu! My wife took the opportunity during Newport's restaurant week to make it to quite a few restaurants to compare. Jamestown Fish was the absolute best. Fresh ingredients, great waitstaff, and very unique dishes which are the perfect balance between new and classic. It was refreshing to dine in a place with a name like Jamestown Fish, where "fish" is not only done right, but taken to a whole new level! Great experience!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVisited during Newport RestaurantVisited during Newport Restaurant week. Loved everything about the restaurant. Food was top quality and the service was perfect. We can't wait for the warmer weather so that we can enjoy an outdoor brunch.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMyum!Dined at Jamestown fish for brunch recently and had an exceptional time! We were sat at a table that looked out on to the bay on a bright and sunny Sunday. It was early enough to order breakfast items (11am) so we ordered the brioche french toast and pancakes which we were lucky enough to be able to have chocolate chips added to. The french toast was light and fluffy and you could tell they used real maple syrup! We ended the meal with cappacinos and coffee and a quick tour of the drool worthy kitchen. What a fabulous morning . Cannot wait to enjoy brunch outdoors on the patio this summer.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my second visit toThis is my second visit to Jamestown Fish and I really enjoyed it. I had the "Uncle Joe's Eggplant" as a started -- interesting, but a bit too vinegary for my taste -- followed by the Skate, which was done in an Italian preparation -- very good. The best appetizer for my group was the sardines, which got rave reviews. Love the decor and the service was excellent. I would have said 4 1/2 stars if that had been an option.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressed my out-of-state guestsA couple of my California friends decided to visit this weekend for a spring vacation in Boston, and stayed with me down in Middletown. I introduced them to Jamestown FiSH as I rave about this place quite often. With the start of Restaurant Week, we were delighted to see the 3-course Prix-Fixe menu, and I was eager to impress my guests.
The notable highlights was watching them savor the Cajun spiced scallop appetizer, the mozzarella and prosciutto, and the clams and linguine. My friend actually admitted it was some of the best scallops he's ever tasted, with just the right texture and slight hint of after-spice at the end. I'm always glad to bring in new customers to the Jamestown FiSH crew, and love watching them leave happy.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, they use a lotVery good, they use a lot of fresh and local ingredients. The coffee and cappucino are terrible however.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFish took last-minute BrunchFish took last-minute Brunch reservations (via OpenTable),and confirmed the evening before. My first time there. We had a table for 6, which included my 5-year old grandson. Although Fish did not have any booster seats/high chair (I'm thinking it is not suited for children generally), but they were overly accommodating and gracious. The service, food, ambiance was excellent. I would definitely go there again.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely experience and foodLovely experience and food excellent. The Chef came to our table to ask how things were going; rarely done now, but always a nice touch. Very inventive menu. Our appertizers of sauteed cuttlefish, raw scallops with sea urchin, and entrees of Jamestown Cook Pot, and herb crusted Tuna were prepared and presented perfectly. Can,t wait to return to sample more of the Chef,s cuisine. 5 stars for sure. A great Restaurant2/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA great Jamestown catchI drive through Jamestown all the time and never found a reason to stop, until Open Table offered a seat at Jamestown FiSH. When I entered, my seat was next to the fireplace. It's a small, cozy dining area with an upstairs bar, and probably seats about 40 people max, so reservations are highly recommended. The bread, wine, cocktails and food were absolutely delicious. I'm not that big of a seafood fan, but I got the Jamestown Cookpot (lobster, monkfish, clams, scallops, and mussels), and I was amazed at how delicious it was. The highlight of my night was getting to meet Executive Chef Matthew MacCartney at the end of the night and talk about how wonderful it was.12/28/2012 12:00:00 AM
