Had a very enjoyable dinner at James Beach. Good food, nice ambiance, reasonable prices. My flat iron steak was not exceptional but the truffle mashed potatoes were outstanding and the molten chocolate cake for dessert was delicious and decadent.

Easter has become a tradition here with egg dying and drinking bloody Mary's. The hosts could not be more cordial and the atmosphere is celebratory and friendly.

We were there for Easter brunch which may not be typical. The scrambled eggs really were badly presented - overcooked, dry. MacDonald's could've done better. And there was very little ham - just crumbles or dried up edges with grist intact. Since I do not eat smoked salmon or sushi, it was a disappointing meal for me. My husband was fine with what he ate, which was everything but eggs and ham.

I had been looking forward to visiting this spot since I moved to Marina del Rey six years ago. Overall, I thought both the food and service were good, but not outstanding.
We had reservations, since it was Friday night, and were seated promptly. Our waitress was very friendly and made some good suggestions, but was non-existent for a large portion of our meal. Also, the guy who served our food was a bit grouchy when we noticed that he was serving our food to the table next to ours. Like I said, it was Friday, and it was defintely busy, but it felt like things could have been handled better.
The drinks were top-notch and the fish tacos were tasty, but not as good as I had expected since it's what they're famous for.

The food was very good and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere with a fun bar - gets relatively crowded on the weekends. Feels like your at the beach. I would definitely go back.

Fish tacos are outstanding. If you get there early in the evening dine on the semi--outside patio. Later it gets a little crowded with the bar crowd. Cool place right by venice beach.
