"Having enjoyed this restaurant over several years of visiting Lake Tahoe, we were extremely disappointed with our experience on this visit. The quality and presentation of the food was the poor and the service extremely slow. When we queried the manager why the food was slow, he was abrupt and rude - and then to be served less that the quality we were expecting made us decide NOT to return to Jake's in the future. we shall spend our money elsewhere."

"We had guests in town from Hawaii and we thought this would be a safe choice for brunch. Although there were seats available in the main dining room, the hostest sat us upstairs next to a large party so we had to walk up and down for the buffet. The food was cold and the server seemed distracted and uninterested. We had to ask multiple times for our water and coffee to be refilled. We had to cut our own meat since there was not a chef tending to it. Only after we were done eating did the server ask if we wanted something made fresh to order. Overall, we were looking for a nice Easter brunch; however, we were left with a poor experience."

"Although the deck was open yet for the season (we ARE at 6200' after all), we've eaten here 100s of times. They have nice heaters out there for those chilly times."

"Terrific view. Our server made the night for us. One criteria my husband has for restaurants with a bar is: a drink on the table within 10 minutes of seating and they made it with ease. The service was spot on, everything explained, timely without intrusiveness, water glasses kept full and the check appeared as soon as we declined dessert. The menu is very California eclectic, heavy on seafood. The food was OK but not as good as the prices would suggest. You do pay a premium in Tahoe for the view. We will return but it isn't a must go for the food."

"Our visit was good. We went rather early in the evening, so young families with loud, crying children were there which was very annoying. We were celebrating a birthday, so it was a special evening for us. Our dinners plates were returned empty, but my pasta was a bit dry....a little drizzle of olive oil would have done the trick. We had a nice table at the window. Service was good....our waiter was was humorous and very responsive to our wants/needs. Next time we'll go later in the evening!"
