I actually had my 60th birthday celebration there and everyone raved about the food and atmosphere. But I have to say, we won't be going back very soon. We did not love the new menu -, the portions were smaller, and less tasty. The food was only fair - nothing memorable. We had two fish dishes - bass and salmon - and while they were excellently prepared, neither was memorable. They seemed a bit bland. Perhaps our palates trend more to spicy food - we're Asian food lovers. The combination of ingredients in each dish seemed a little forced. The location was awesome, right on the ocean, and the food and service were great. We asked for a table by the ocean and had to wait only about 10-15 mins for one and it was worth it.
I ordered the surf and turf and it was cooked perfectly. My mom ordered the special, “sword fish” and she did have to send it back, she wanted it a bit more well done. The rest of my family loved their meals (portion sizes were just right), and our server Avi was extremely accommodating and helpful.

TS has done it right for years and this is a prime example. we go out of our way from Arizona to experience Jakes and have never been disappointed. Even the dolphins frolicking near the shore seemed as though Jake's had "ordered" them for us as a welcome surprise. The removal of the internal window glass from the "main" dining room to the "beach" dining room makes for a little more noise overall, but you get used to it.
