Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar is an innovative restaurant featuring New American cuisine for over 25 years. Chef Bruce Cooper and his staff feature a classic approach to cuisine in a comfortable environment. Come try one of over 100 wines from our new constructed Glass Wine Room at prices that are far below the industry mark up.

In 2008, we opened Cooper's Brick Oven Wine Bar, adjacent to Jake's. Featuring more than 30 wines by the glass from all around the world, Cooper's is a casual, neighborhood eatery.
We also welcome guests to bring your personal cellar selections and join us for dinner in the JAKE'S DINING ROOM for a $15 corkage fee any night of the week.

  • "There are so many great items on the menu it is hard to choose. Apps, sides and small plates are so good you can make a meal of them except for melted gouda-barely a tablespoon. Calimari salad, spinach, brussels, spicy meatballs-YUM! Rib Eye and Swordfish very good. Great drinks-try the bourbon negroni and the IPAs. Warm bread and oil is a good side for $2 but ask for extra oil. Very busy and very noisy but the service was great and we had a seat in the side room towards the back which really helped decrease the decibal level. You are sitting quite close to the next table but it is a more cozy setting. We have always had a great meal here."

  • "Our family loves to go to Jake's for birthday celebrations and so went last Sunday. They accommodated us in a large square table which is great for cross table conversations and nobody is left out. The table fits 8 but we were only 7 because one of us could not make it at the last minute. The service is superb and the food excellent! Every single item on the menu is very tasty so just get what you like and you won't be disappointed! A great touch was a glass of champagne for everybody to toast and ginger ale for my 12 years old daughter. We will be back as soon as we can!"

  • "I had not been to Jakes in years, so I didn't realize that they had a combined menu with Cooper's. Our group of three did several small plates, most of which were very good (highlights were the gnocchi, crabcake and octopus salad. The only clunker was the side of brussels sprouts, which had an overly sweet maple flavoring that just did not work. Service was OK, but the pacing of the dishes was too rapid and we felt rushed. The gnocchi alone would make me go back for another meal."

  • "I've been here numberous times. The food was good; we had the margarita pizza, the small plate roasted shrimp (which was excellent), and the beet salad (also excellent). The drinks were good as well-Citrus Blossoms. The dessert was a disappointment. Too big and pedestrian flavors. Rather have a small bite of something amazing. Not the caliber I have come to expect from Cooper's/Jake's."

All the dishes were prepared and seasoned well, and we're served hot. The $5 drink special in the bar was a nice surprise as well. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "We were seated in a cozy corner booth. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The oysters were delicious and so fresh. The crab cake appetizer was great and a perfect light meal. We also had the braised short ribs and lobster (yum!). We will definitely be back!"

  • "We were in the Phila area on VLentines night so we decided to make a reservation at Jake and Coopers. We were not disappointed. We shared the Portabello Mushroom Soup and Beet Soup. My husband had the Surf and Turf (Beef Rib) which was excellent and I had sever small plates-Crab cake, Roasted Cauliflower, and Brussels Sprouts. I LOVED the BSprouts. For dessert we shared the Peterifoles. The wine list was extensive and you can bring your own bottle and pay a corkage fee. We will definitely be back!!"

Jake and Coopers is a little bit of the old and a little of the new- combining the fine dining of the former Jakes with the casual pizza/bar of Coopers. A pretty room, nice ambiance and service make this a nice place for a date night or an upscale family meal. With a menu that ranges from small plates, pizzas and salads to regular entrees, there should be something for everyone. I especially liked the cornmeal crusted calamari and the almond cake for dessert."

  • "The service was very good and the ambiance was nice, not too noisy and not too dark in lightening. My friend ordered the pork chop, which was perfectly cooked. I had the margharita pizza. I loved the texture of the crust- it was chewy and very thin, but not too flavorful. It was hard to tell the quality of the sauce and what it was made of because it was so skimpy. The cheese was pretty good, a little chewier and thicker than other fresh mozzarella I've had though. It was also placed in sporadic spots on the pizza, which is okay but I'd rather it be more evenly spread out and mixed a little with the sauce. I liked that it wasn't oily though. I also didn't like that the bread wasn't free, especially for the price of the dishes."

They also wrote Happy Anniversary on our dessert plate. I had a great steak and my wife had some very good Salmon. They treated us very well and we had a blast."

We were greeted with smiling faces from all the staff. Our server was very good, dinner was tremendous. Swordfish entree was fantastic. Tuna tar tare was very good. Dessert was yummy. I only have great things to say about Jake and Coopers!"

  • "I've been to Jake's & Cooper's before this and have always had a nice time. The food is decent (their burger rocks) and the mood is nice (classy but fun). On this visit, however, I was disappointed. We made reservations for 6 for NYE. They had a jazzy band playing at the front of the restaurant. The music itself was nice, but it was SO incredibly loud that I couldn't hold a decent conversation with anyone at the table, including my date who was sitting right next to me. We had to play whisper down the lane just to get our food orders in because the waiter couldn't hear the folks who were sitting at the far side of the booth. To top it off, my favorit food (the burger) wasn't even on the menu! Overall a disappointing experience."

  • "From the moment you walk in and are seated with a smile you know it's going to be a great evening...never disappoints for lunch, either. Calves liver on the menu? Most unusual. Cooked to perfection with a demi glaze and lots of onions. My friend had crab cakes and usually takes the 2nd one home...she ate the WHOLE thing. We shared apple pie which must have just come out of the oven. Definitely valet park...it's cheaper than the lot. Enjoy!"

  • "My girlfriends and I came here for a holiday dinner exchange and had a great time. We ordered a few things off the appetizers and meals and salads and shared everything and it was superb. The crab cakes, calamari, chicken, mac and cheese - everything is superb. Our waiter was very attentive and the servers were great. I especially love the special cocktail drinks - I had a peppermint drink that was outstanding. Best part was at the end of the night when we all split the bill it was really affordable!"

  • "We love the fine dining atmosphere of the Jake's side of Jake's and Coopers and often choose it when meeting with friends. Although lively and energetic, we can actually hear one another while enjoying our meal. The wood oven pizzas were great, as was the quail and octopus salad. I wanted something small and having some food restrictions, the choices in most restaurants is difficult, but I was able to order a crab cake to my specifications which was a delight, although the portion was quite small (my only objection). Overall, we enjoyed our meal there and will go back again and again."

  • "This was my first time to Jake's and Cooper's and I sure hope it won't be my last. The food was outstanding and the customer service was top notch. The only negative was that although we had a reservation, we had to wait for our table. However, the manager more than made up for this minor inconvenience by having an appetizer waiting for us and also comping us a dessert. The roasted chicken breast was scrumptious and the lamb shank literally fell right off the bone. I have to give this place a big two thumbs up! Not to mention the wine was delicious! Run don't walk to Jake's and Cooper's! Thank you for such great service and an excellent meal."

  • "By far one of the best spots on Main Street in Manayunk. The menu is perfect for those looking for a little taste of everything. My staple favorites are their Smoked Gouda and their tuna tartar appetizers. I usually also end up getting one of their pizzas, which are always crispy and pleasing to my taste buds! The wine list is extensive and they also have a fun beer list! Great spot for a first date or dinner with your friends. Either or, you will not be disappointed!"

  • "Love the NEW Jake's. For years Jake's was one of our favorite restaurants. But things went down hill & we stopped eating there. Now it is a favorite again! Ate there twice recently. Both times we found the atmosphere lively, service attentive, menu varied, food delicious & served quickly & hot.Great for a quick light meal or a full 3 course dining experience. Bonus that they have several Gluten Free items identified on the menu. Jake's is once again a favorite of ours!"
