Jake and Cooper's Wine Bar had a
wonderful and accommodating staff. The food was delicious and filling. "

Crabcakes are amazing so is the
mushroom truffle soup or the mushroom pizza or the gnocchi that melts in your mouth"

No matter how infrequent or
frequent you go, it's always a five star experience."

There are so many great items on
the menu it is hard to choose. Apps, sides and small plates are so good you can make a meal of them except for melted gouda-barely a tablespoon. Calimari salad, spinach, brussels, spicy meatballs-YUM! Rib Eye and Swordfish very good. Great drinks-try the bourbon negroni and the IPAs. Warm bread and oil is a good side for $2 but ask for extra oil. Very busy and very noisy but the service was great and we had a seat in the side room towards the back which really helped decrease the decibal level. You are sitting quite close to the next table but it is a more cozy setting. We have always had a great meal here."

Our family loves to go to Jake's
for birthday celebrations and so went last Sunday. They accommodated us in a large square table which is great for cross table conversations and nobody is left out. The table fits 8 but we were only 7 because one of us could not make it at the last minute. The service is superb and the food excellent! Every single item on the menu is very tasty so just get what you like and you won't be disappointed! A great touch was a glass of champagne for everybody to toast and ginger ale for my 12 years old daughter. We will be back as soon as we can!"

I had not been to Jakes in years,
so I didn't realize that they had a combined menu with Cooper's. Our group of three did several small plates, most of which were very good (highlights were the gnocchi, crabcake and octopus salad. The only clunker was the side of brussels sprouts, which had an overly sweet maple flavoring that just did not work. Service was OK, but the pacing of the dishes was too rapid and we felt rushed. The gnocchi alone would make me go back for another meal."
Dined on 3/15/2014
Had the celery soup and pesto--
yum. and oysters-- fresh, but too much garlic. My friend's soup was so hot, it never cooled off so he had to wrap it… ha ha ah… he said it tasted even better the next day. so just wrap it :-)"
Dined on 3/15/2014
yummy mushroom pizza with truffle
oil …special cauliflower soup and shrimp dumplings with mushrooms on top"
Dined on 3/12/2014
I've been here numberous times.
The food was good; we had the margarita pizza, the small plate roasted shrimp (which was excellent), and the beet salad (also excellent). The drinks were good as well-Citrus Blossoms. The dessert was a disappointment. Too big and pedestrian flavors. Rather have a small bite of something amazing. Not the caliber I have come to expect from Cooper's/Jake's."
Dined on 3/9/2014
They have amazing crab cakes and
mushroom soup and MUSHROOM Truffle Pizza!!"
Dined on 3/7/2014
The only bad thing I can say is
they have a $15 corking fee - so if you r going BYOB be prepared to be charge a fee. We opted to get a cocktail and brought the wine home, my hubby opened the wine for me for FREE..."
Dined on 2/16/2014
Jake's is always a winner. You can
get just a small bite or a fabulous, formal dinner. We were there with friends catching up. The cheese plate was a perfect start to drink wine and chat."
Dined on 2/27/2014
Our party of four very much
enjoyed our dinner. I opted for the pear salad and mussels and the rest of our group ordered mains:swordfish, chicken, pork chop. Everyone enjoyed their food and we bought the cheap wine,, which was just fine. We finished with warm almond cake and the dish of four ice creams. Definitely will return."
Dined on 3/1/2014
Never a bad meal at Coopers.
Service is hit or miss...but never bad. Love the gluten free options and the wine list is always great!"
Dined on 2/24/2014
I took my parents to this place
when they came to visit. They really enjoyed it and we tried a wide variety of the menu. At the end of the meal, I left my cell phone in the booth and the waiter chased me down the street 3 blocks away to give it to me. Very nice!"
Dined on 8/8/2013
My friends and I really enjoyed
our brunch. All three of us loved our entrees ( lobster omelette, short rib hash with eggs, and short rib panini with soup). All the dishes were prepared and seasoned well, and we're served hot. The $5 drink special in the bar was a nice surprise as well. Can't wait to go back!"
Dined on 2/23/2014
We were seated in a cozy corner
booth. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The oysters were delicious and so fresh. The crab cake appetizer was great and a perfect light meal. We also had the braised short ribs and lobster (yum!). We will definitely be back!"
Dined on 2/15/2014
We were in the Phila area on
VLentines night so we decided to make a reservation at Jake and Coopers. We were not disappointed. We shared the Portabello Mushroom Soup and Beet Soup. My husband had the Surf and Turf (Beef Rib) which was excellent and I had sever small plates-Crab cake, Roasted Cauliflower, and Brussels Sprouts. I LOVED the BSprouts. For dessert we shared the Peterifoles. The wine list was extensive and you can bring your own bottle and pay a corkage fee. We will definitely be back!!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
The food was great but we felt
rushed by the waitress, it wasn't even a busy night. Wish we'd had time to really enjoy our meal."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Great dining experience! I highly
recommend getting the cheese platter, it was phenomenal!"

reservation for valentines day and everything went great."

Manayunk's restaurant scene seems
to be revived lately. Jake and Coopers is a little bit of the old and a little of the new- combining the fine dining of the former Jakes with the casual pizza/bar of Coopers. A pretty room, nice ambiance and service make this a nice place for a date night or an upscale family meal. With a menu that ranges from small plates, pizzas and salads to regular entrees, there should be something for everyone. I especially liked the cornmeal crusted calamari and the almond cake for dessert."
Dined on 2/1/2014
The food was delicious. The cheese
board with the different spreads were outstanding. All of our dinners were very enjoyable."
Dined on 1/25/2014
The service was very good and the
ambiance was nice, not too noisy and not too dark in lightening. My friend ordered the pork chop, which was perfectly cooked. I had the margharita pizza. I loved the texture of the crust- it was chewy and very thin, but not too flavorful. It was hard to tell the quality of the sauce and what it was made of because it was so skimpy. The cheese was pretty good, a little chewier and thicker than other fresh mozzarella I've had though. It was also placed in sporadic spots on the pizza, which is okay but I'd rather it be more evenly spread out and mixed a little with the sauce. I liked that it wasn't oily though. I also didn't like that the bread wasn't free, especially for the price of the dishes."

As we sat down I mentioned to our
server that it was our anniversary and before I could turn around there was a glass of champagne for my wife and I. They also wrote Happy Anniversary on our dessert plate. I had a great steak and my wife had some very good Salmon. They treated us very well and we had a blast."

My wife and I were in Philly for
our daughters dance symposium. Needed a place to eat and found jake and coopers. Arrived, was given our table right away. We were greeted with smiling faces from all the staff. Our server was very good, dinner was tremendous. Swordfish entree was fantastic. Tuna tar tare was very good. Dessert was yummy. I only have great things to say about Jake and Coopers!"
Dined on 1/18/2014
Excellent food and service.
Parking was easy and the location was very nice"

I've been to Jake's & Cooper's
before this and have always had a nice time. The food is decent (their burger rocks) and the mood is nice (classy but fun). On this visit, however, I was disappointed. We made reservations for 6 for NYE. They had a jazzy band playing at the front of the restaurant. The music itself was nice, but it was SO incredibly loud that I couldn't hold a decent conversation with anyone at the table, including my date who was sitting right next to me. We had to play whisper down the lane just to get our food orders in because the waiter couldn't hear the folks who were sitting at the far side of the booth. To top it off, my favorit food (the burger) wasn't even on the menu! Overall a disappointing experience."

Hadn't been in a few years and
since the renovation. Food and service was still excellent but the more casual room was a little disappointing to see. Glad to see the calves liver still on the menu - fabulous. And free glasses of champagne at the end of the meal as it was my husband's birthday. Will definitely not wait as long to return."
Dined on 12/24/2013
From the moment you walk in and
are seated with a smile you know it's going to be a great evening...never disappoints for lunch, either. Calves liver on the menu? Most unusual. Cooked to perfection with a demi glaze and lots of onions. My friend had crab cakes and usually takes the 2nd one home...she ate the WHOLE thing. We shared apple pie which must have just come out of the oven. Definitely valet park...it's cheaper than the lot. Enjoy!"

My girlfriends and I came here for
a holiday dinner exchange and had a great time. We ordered a few things off the appetizers and meals and salads and shared everything and it was superb. The crab cakes, calamari, chicken, mac and cheese - everything is superb. Our waiter was very attentive and the servers were great. I especially love the special cocktail drinks - I had a peppermint drink that was outstanding. Best part was at the end of the night when we all split the bill it was really affordable!"

Our dinner was good. We miss the
warmth, specialness and atmosphere of the old Jake's."
Dined on 12/15/2013
We love the fine dining atmosphere
of the Jake's side of Jake's and Coopers and often choose it when meeting with friends. Although lively and energetic, we can actually hear one another while enjoying our meal. The wood oven pizzas were great, as was the quail and octopus salad. I wanted something small and having some food restrictions, the choices in most restaurants is difficult, but I was able to order a crab cake to my specifications which was a delight, although the portion was quite small (my only objection). Overall, we enjoyed our meal there and will go back again and again."
Dined on 12/13/2013
Jake's has always had really good
food and service. The crab cakes are great. The mussels are great. The scallops are very good, but the portion is small. The hamburgers are just ok, not as good as they used to be. Our waiter was very good."
Dined on 11/22/2013
Very quiet at lunch, attentive
staff, good variety of choices. Have enjoyed fine brunch and dinner here as well."
Dined on 11/19/2013
This was my first time to Jake's
and Cooper's and I sure hope it won't be my last. The food was outstanding and the customer service was top notch. The only negative was that although we had a reservation, we had to wait for our table. However, the manager more than made up for this minor inconvenience by having an appetizer waiting for us and also comping us a dessert. The roasted chicken breast was scrumptious and the lamb shank literally fell right off the bone. I have to give this place a big two thumbs up! Not to mention the wine was delicious! Run don't walk to Jake's and Cooper's! Thank you for such great service and an excellent meal."
Dined on 11/9/2013
the portions of the swordfish were
definitely too small!!"
Dined on 11/9/2013
Hour drive to meet a Philly
friend. All of us had a tremendous meal, cocktails were spectacular and service (thanks, Anna!) was outstanding. Hadn't been here for a while and it was even better than our previous visits to Jake's and Cooper's. We'll be back sooner."
Dined on 11/9/2013
By far one of the best spots on
Main Street in Manayunk. The menu is perfect for those looking for a little taste of everything. My staple favorites are their Smoked Gouda and their tuna tartar appetizers. I usually also end up getting one of their pizzas, which are always crispy and pleasing to my taste buds! The wine list is extensive and they also have a fun beer list! Great spot for a first date or dinner with your friends. Either or, you will not be disappointed!"
Dined on 9/23/2013
Service was a little off. One
waiter had a most tables and while he at first was very knowledgeable about the food, etc.. after a few more tables arrived it was difficult to get his attention. The food was pretty good - havent' been there in a long time. Overall we really enjoyed and I'd go back again ..."
