Jai by Wolfgang PuckSalmon: SupremeWe had dinner before the theater on Friday and it was superb. We started with the potstickers, sharing an order. It was delicious and just the right amount for the two of us. Then we both had the salmon main dish. The salmon was on top of a crunchy rice cake and surrounded by enoki mushrooms. Unbelievably wonderful! The rice cake was something we hadn't had before and we loved the crunch and the counterpoint to the salmon. We accompanied it with a Grgich Hills Sauvignon Blanc, which was perfect. Service was excellent.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBefore the playWe went before a performance @ La Jolla playhouse. The service was effcient, friendly, and attentive . The food was surprisingly very good. The potstickers were wonderful , Our entrees were a very nice blend of flavors . A decent wine list that was priced fairly. I would go back before our next time attending a performance.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner before theaterWe dined here last night before our scheduled performance at 7:30 at La Jolla Playhouse. Our reservation was for 6:30, but the service was good enough to have us finished with the check paid by 7:20. Had the asian chicken salad which was a very ample portion to be split with my husband. Also, I had the miso salmon and he had the shortribs. Both meals were ample portiond and quite tasty. Would order them again.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!Really good food. Kind of a random location, but not too out of the way. Make sure to look on line to check when they are open5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is delicious andThe food is delicious and beautifully presented. Creative menu. I would urge the chef to make normal I e creams and not put sesame seeds and weird things like that in it. Otherwise excellent experience .3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent pre-La Jolla PlayhouseExcellent pre-La Jolla Playhouse spot. Isn't that the idea?3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect location if you'rePerfect location if you're attending LaJolla Playhouse3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb pre-theater dining experiencSince the restaurant is part of the La Jolla Playhouse complex, the servers are unusually aware of timing and the need to move us through to performance time. This allowed for a happily stress-free dining experience. The food was perfect, the sauces subtle and memorable, and the university student who served us was a gem. Although we are locals, this was the first night of our vacation, and what a lovely evening it was!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for going to right beforeGreat for going to right before a show at La Jolla Playhouse.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
