Diner Reviews
  • "It's all about the Cerviche. Incredible and consistent."

  • "Ceviche sampler & the tuna - delish!! A bit confusing to get a grilled fish taco, but at the end they just brought me some lettuce to wrap my grilled Mahi Mahi inside- :):)"

  • "The Ceviche Sampler. My wife and I made the unfortunate decision to split one. It really tested our marriage and our devotion to marital equity. You'll want your own. The Baha Fish Tacos were pretty good, too. But I have dreams about the acid cooked fish in those white spoons. Dios Mio!"

  • "Nice evening in Miami - sat outside which may have been a mistake as there is an energetic bar across the street. Ordered the black bean soup - got the lentil, it was tasty but only warm, not hot. Had the shrimp dish - shrimp were a bit overcooked, and again only warm, not hot. Probably not to safe serving temperature. Rice was good - fairly bland ingredients but matched nicely with the sauce from the shrimp. Overall experience warm - not hot. Too many other great places to eat in the area so probably will not return anytime soon."

  • "If I had to choose only one restaurant in Coconut Grove to go to it would be Jaguar. Very popular place. Great food, reasonable prices, service very good, nice wine list. Public parking garage next door."

  • "Frequent diner who always enjoys the freshest ceviche with best sauces to compliment at Jaguar. I have eaten ceviche at many places but this is my go to place always consistent."

  • "Even with a "reservation" we sited but the bar is fun and the mango mojitos make it go by quickly. All the food was outstanding. Try the ceviche of course and the grilled octopus was fantastic. Yum!"

  • "after seeing the great yelp reviews and after being recommended here by the hotel my wife and I are staying at for our honeymoon, we thought we would give it a shot. the ceviche was great, but the dinner specials were mediocre at best. the drinks we had (mojitos) we're not very good (tasted stale, not very fresh), and our waiter was as attentive to us as a 5 year old would be in cleaning their room. we had also requested to sit outside because of the beautiful weather and because it's our honeymoon - that wasn't even acknowledged. If we ever come back to coral gables, we will not be returning here."

  • "We had one of the best meals ever. I could eat here everyday ! Service, from reception to our waiter, Alberto, who was perfect, and spared no effort in making our dining experience a sheer pleasure. The food: soup of the day, a fresh grilled corn w/ a touch of jalapeño, mango avocado arugula salad, a grilled key west jumbo shrimp all amazing!"

  • "Jaguar is a funky place. The food (Peruvian/Mexican) is very good but not for the faint of heart. There's a good deal of spice in most things. We tried a variety of the ceviches and liked some more than others (los Cabos was the favorite). Grilled octopus was very good. I thought the lomo saltado was outstanding. It is very loud when full."

  • "Everything about it was just fine, not great and for the price we expected a bit more. Service was slow, food was a little bland, sangria was okay. It was pretty and romantic but didn't wow me. There are other places I'd rather go for ceviche."

  • "Incredible food and great service. This place is a great date night out! Ceviche was awesome!"

  • "Jaguar was recommended to us by a Cornell hotels grad . It was Fabulous we were warmly greeted, seated immediately because of our open table reservation and served hospitably . Service was attentive without bèing on top of us .suggestions from waitstaff were helpful and informative. All three of us had fabulous meals!! Can't wait to return"

  • "If you're looking for large portions, this is the wrong place. If you're looking for good service, WRONG PLACE. The waitresses are awkward, forget to take your order, and take away things from your table before you're even done. For such a fancy place, with expensive and small portions, the waitresses are very unprofessional. I went specifically for the ceviche and was disappointed when the LARGE was really a small."

  • "It was great food with great service. Glad I picked a perfect restaurant for valentines day."

  • "The attitudes of every single staff member was fabulous. These people know their business. The hospitality was a10 from the front door forward. Great attentive knowledgeable staff. Vibrant atmosphere. There's something for everyone on the menu. Bar drinks were huge but really not so good. Pass on the sangrias too sweet.we didn't have dessert. We actually eent bsck a second night in a row, on Valentines Day without a reservation and they found 2 seats for us with no attitude only graceful assistance. I have to give these restaurant people their dues, and kudos for really understanding hospitality and food. Oh yea the chips & salsa were good too. Don't hesitate to go and enjoy! Bravo!"

  • "This was a fun restaurant...the service was excellent. The Ceviche which I had never had before was varied and delicious. I will be on the hunt for more. We were staying in Coconut Grove for one night and chose Jaguar because of the reviews on Open Table. It was a perfect choice for the evening."

  • "We were a group of seven. We had to yell at each other on a Thursday night. The place was hopping. Everything we ordered was excellent. The ceviche sampler was to die for. The mojitos were great. My husband picked a wine from Uraquay which was wonderful. I prefer a quieter meal, but if lively is your scene, this is it!"

  • "This is the second time we have eaten here and really enjoyed the experience. You have to have some ceviche - just pick one and try it. This time around I had a mix of meats and my wife had the scallops. We recommend both."

  • "I made a reservation for 14 of us in town for a reunion. We added to the reservation twice and Jaguar was amazing about it. Our server was terrific and handled our table with ease. And the food was terrific! Everyone loved their meal and drinks. Seafood was fresh and yummy and chips were a nice treat. Would go back in a second!"

  • "This is a favorite spot of mine but this evening was disappointing. So noisy that conversation across our table was all but impossible. Server failed to bring two things requested (bread and later a working pepper mill), brought entrees to two of our party about five minutes before the other two. They even sent a no-show on our OpenTable reservation even though we checked in with confirmation of our reservation. Fortunately the food was as good as always."

  • "Excellent waiter, good atmosphere, relaxed and enjoyable...........thank you, you helped make our end of the year dinner a very nice experience for all 17 of us!!"

  • "The ceviche sampler was a great option because we got to sample 6 different ones and they were all delicious. The sangria was excellent as well."

  • "The ceviche is excellent, best you can get anywhere! Also love the sea food dishes. Good wine selection, all either from Chile or Argentina. Pisco sour is also a great drink to order here."

  • "I had always liked Jaguar in the past but something changed. The cerviche wasn't as interesting and the main courses were slow in coming and less tasty than I had remembered. Maybe just an off night."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "My third time at Jaguar. The ceviches are well thought out, the fish is fresh, the flavors bold and an excellent melange of flavor. Vibrant atmosphere and a great place to go with a small group of good friends. Beers are pricey, but it's upscale in the grove, so do as the Romans do. Go, order ceviche, and have a blast!"
    Dined on 12/29/2013
  • "Food was great but the place was a bit loud. If you're looking for a spot with a lot of energy and people talking and enjoying a night out with great food this is the spot. Although our waiter didn't seem attentive when taking our order/requests we got everything requested and never had to remind him. The staff worked as a team. Request for drinks made to waiter and a few minutes later the bartender or someone is bringing your drinks and giving it to the right person. Food was great, seafood was excellent. Drinks were great. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends."

  • "Food is very good, service excellent. It is just to loud, unable to hear anyone at the table speak."

  • "This was a really fun restaurant with very tasty cerviche. Try the Black Market and the Mexican Cerviche and the Pisco Sours. The fish was fresh, fresh, fresh and some of the cerviches (like the Peruvian) were even made with the traditional giant corn. Our server was great and did not try to push the drinks. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable."

  • "Went here with friends during a long layover at MIA. They have some sidewalk seating, but with all the road noise, we opted to sit inside. Lots of varied options on the menu, but thier specialty is ceviche. Knowing that I may not be back since I don't live in Miami I went for the Ceviche sampler. Every one was fantastic and different. Particularly liked the calamari one with the yellow sauce, I forgot what they called it. They do have traditional peruvian lime marinated white fish ceviche and some shrimp ceviche in tomato sauce too. Sangria was tasty too. Perfect way to start off my winter warm weather vacation!"
