Last week we came to celebrate our anniversary and sat in a quiet area in the lounge (which is where we always sit). The piano music and ambiance is relaxing. Service is always stellar and the food presentation is very appealing. We had crab cakes as an appetizer. There was not much flavor of crab meat-could only taste hot oil flavor and did not finish them. The bourbon salmon was delicious and had a hint of bourbon flavor. The princess filet was done perfectly and melted in the mouth. However, the Demi-glaze was salty and over powered the meat flavor. Again, could not finish this. We love that the tables are far enough apart to allow for private conversations using a normal tone of voice. The staff was amazingly polite even though I was 30 minutes late for my reservation - on a Friday night. Our server was awesome and the food was better than I could have ever imagined. I was also pleased with the prices. I imagined the menu to be ala carte and was very pleased to see otherwise. I was very excited to see some of Pam Sturkey's desserts on the menu and very much enjoyed her baileys chocolate cheesecake cake. It is one of my favorites and I hadn't had it in years. Got the "Restaurant Week" menu and some were better than others but overall the food was good. For some reason I was in the mood for ribs and I'd recommend against them. Though they were listed as being served with chipotle sauce - it was more ketchupy than tangy. Their steaks are pretty much always a yummy pick.

The food was outstanding- a great combination of some of their classic menu items and some new dishes. And VERY filling portion sizes. The dessert menu looked amazing, but we were too full to order any. Will definitely be making a trip back for the dessert menu. Beautiful ambiance, another great time at Jag's. The first two courses were delectable. We sampled a sushi roll, mushroom bruschetta, salads. We both ordered the filet mignon- and that was actually a little disappointing compared to the fist two courses! The filets themselves were cooked to perfection with a nice crust and great taste. But the mashed potatoes were thick and gummy, and the spinach with bacon was also thick and very salty. The side dishes really took away from the overall taste of the plate and reminded me of fare one might get from a chain restaurant. Jag's was offering a 3-course Prix Fixe dinner for $33.13. The appetizers were amazing - both in taste and presentation. I had tempura sushi which was a unique combination. The salads were great. In fact the portions were such a good size that I was getting full even prior to the main course! The filets arrived just as ordered and my scallops were to die for. There, they helped him plant a flower for his mother, build an ice cream sundae, get a chef's hat, and get a balloon. What a wonderful touch and treat. Well done Jags! What surprised me was the limited offering for brunch. I expected the typical omlette bar, french toast, cinamon rolls, etc. The menu featured prime rib, turkey, eggs benedict and other food that I'm sure is great, but at 10AM I still wanted something 'sweet.' I ordered the eggs benedict and they were great. Their location is convenient from all parts of Hamilton, Fairfield, West Chester, Springdale, and parts of Cincinnati. Even with directions from our GPS, we went sailing by the building - so look closely if you decide to to try this quaint restaurant. The food was really good and the service was excellent. I look forward to trying their usual fare, especially what looks like wonderful steak as seen on the menu . Very pricey steak; however, I bet it would be worth every penny. There is an active bar scene to the left as one enters and at my age of 74 I prefer to get deeper into the quiet and elegant right side of the restaurant where one can have a quiet conversation. Food is elegant, well thought out, and thorough in its diversity. It is inconceivable that one could not find a dish on that extensive menu which wouldn't satisfy. Steaks, chicken, seafood, chicken, vegetarian items, all are available and prepared with culinary excellence.
