  • "Food is consistently good at Jae's, though sometimes their idea of "Spicy" is not as Spicy as we like it. Next time we will tell them to make it truly spicy."

  • "Good sushi, traditional and more modern. Seaweed salad also good. And the tempura. Reasonable price and a large and varied menu includes other pan-asian dishes."

  • "a good reliable place in the south end. Sushi is surprisingly good. Try the Tuna Maddness! Also good soups and excellent Bi Bim Bap. Some dishes work better than others. The service is always good and attentive. And you can almost always get in on a weekend. They could update the decor a bit, but I am fine with it staying the way it is :)"

  • "I had my sisters bday dinner here. It was great. Great food great staff. The manger Li is awesome. Our server Ahrm (spelling I'm sure is wrong - sorry) was wonderful and attentive. The dishes were yummy and flavorful. The only issue we had was parking it's on the street no valet service. Will definitely go back!"

  • "We went here on Valentines Day. Lots of snow and close to the house. Childish downstairs table by the bad. Service was ok but food was mediocre at best. General Ghost chicken was over cooked and chewy and was neither sweet nor spicy, as you'd expect for this dish. Korean hot bowl dish was just right though. With so many choices in the neighborhood there's no excuse for a bad meal and we won't go back."

  • "Great sushi and Korean food in the south end. Service was attentive and drink selection was great. The sushi was fresh and beautifully prepared. The Korean specialties are my favorite. The hot stone bibim bap is perfect for a cold night!"

  • "Great service and wonderful sushi, bi bim bap and soups. Try the tuna madness! Amazing! Sundays are half price maki rolls!"

  • "I have been coming to this place for 20 years. They could use a little bit of a makeover/update, but the food and service have stayed very good, even better than several years ago I think. They have an amazing half price sushi deal each sunday on maki rolls. The Bi Bim Bap is one of my favorites in the area and the service is always very pleasant and attentive. It is also a place you can often get into, which is refreshing in the south end. Try the Tuna Madness Maki Roll!"

  • "The ambiance. bit dated and old looking to appeal to many diners in this area. Feels more like a cafeteria than a resto."

  • "waiter was weird: kept coming by to rearrange our table. NO idea why he felt compelled to touch our stuff. that aside, great sushi & edamame in nice setting."

  • "Excellent food, wonderful food and fantastic music!"

  • "Went with a group of six. Service attentive and polite. Half price maki on Sundays was a great deal; maki was fresh and well presented. Chilean sea bass pretty good, although sauce had a corn starch feel. Noise level got high as dining room filled up. Glass of sangria was mostly ice, so that felt skimpy. Otherwise, enjoyable meal and would go back."

  • "We were in Boston for the Learning and the Brain conference and wanted to find a place that could accommodate 6 easily. It was Saturday night and with no idea where to go we put off making reservations. Using OpenTable, I found this little gem, made a reservation and by the time we had walked from Copley Square, our table was ready. I had a Kimchi and the Korean Dumpling soup! Killer Cosmopolitans from the very cool basement Bar. Delish! I'd add a photo here, but no upload allowed."

  • "Jae's has maintained high quality and consistency. Their Bim-Bim-Bop has the same delicious sauce that I first tasted 15 years ago. Their sushi is simple, fresh and a pleasure to taste. They are smart and confident enough to not change what is great."

  • "We haven't been to Jae's in over ten years (we moved out of state). This time we brought our children and we all loved it! We got a great sushi boat with lots of variety, crunchy pad Thai (oh how I've missed it- can't find it anywhere else!), and my youngest child got a kids bento box, her steak was amazing!!! Would totally recommend."

  • "Jae's has been in the South end forever. that is a good thing as many places come and go. Still excellent sushi and quality Asian food of all types. Outdoor seating a bit dark. Don't miss the 1/2 price Maki on Sunday if you eat in vs. take out."
