Located in the heart of the "Fifth Avenue" in Harlem, Jado Sushi offers the finest sushi and Japanese delicacies with innovative twists, prepared with the freshest ingredients from local markets.

A sister store of popular wine store The Winery, Jado Sushi will also pay extra attention to the art of wine pairing with sushi. Carefully selected terroir-driven wines, artisan sakes, Asian-infused cocktails and hard-to-find Japanese craft beers are just some of the selection on the menu.

Whether you savor the fresh sushi at the sushi counter, or perch yourself at the full-bar for small plates with exquisite drinks, the experience will be unlike anything you've ever had before.

This place is really good. Not the best but yet ones of the second best places in the city for a nice fresh sashimi or lobster pasta. The appetizer are really good, the pol belly, taquittos.

I am here every Friday, as a couple or which children, to eat outside or eat at the counter. It is a consistently outstanding dining experience. The sushi is top-grade, the rice is incredible and the drink selection is quite inventive. It's how sushi should taste.

The place is well decorated and run. The wait staffs might be a bit enthusiastic to take our unfinished dishes away but they're friendly. The sashimi is of acceptably good quality and cooked food are unexpectedly splendid. A place that I will go back again though we have to travel distance from Queens.

I lived in Japan 27 years. I must say this has got to be one of the best NYC sushi restaurants I have visited. Quirky, unexpected yet tasteful, elegant and understated... Two sushi chefs from different parts of Japan, a latin flare in the kitchen that comes across well in the food, and a cocktail menu that is original and tasty.

i've been to jado three times now, and service has gone from moderately slow to downright terrible. on trip 3, my cocktail arrived 20 minutes after our first food dish, and we waited nearly a half hour in between courses. we had a similar experience with the huge wait for a cocktail on our second trip as well. while some dishes are really great (pork belly skewers and tuna tartare) others are uninspired (pork maki roll and tempura ice cream). we harlemites are loyal to our local businesses, but jado will have to work much harder and resolve these timing problems if it wants to maintain that loyalty.

Great decor, ambiance....classy. Good looking crowd. I had the tempura and it could have been better...wonderful assortment of unusual vegetables, but the tempura needed seasoning..neither the shrimp/veggie nor the batter had any seasoning. The chicken teriyaki was too dry and I would have preferred rice to the blue potatoes (blue potatoes are not very appetizing to look at or taste).

The cocktails are not good, all turned out sweet and overflavored, the people on the table next to us sent theirs back, so did I with one of the two I ordered. The food also seems too salty and overflavored, but it is a fusion restaurant so you can't expect totally authentic Japanese food. Our waiter also worked behind the bar so he was not there for us without being prompted by another waiter. Overall it was not great, but I would go again for the atmosphere and stick to wine and their rolls.

What a surprise to find this fabulous sushi place in Harlem. Anywhere else in Manhattan or Brooklyn you wouldn't be able to get a table. The signature rolls are fabulous - innovative yet not over the top crazy. The White Tiger and Black Dragon Rolls were fabulous combinations and artfully presented. To start we had the most delicious chicken dish I've ever had- Jado Chicken. We also had the sushi fried rice which was a large portion and is perfect for sharing for a little extra something. Interesting and appealing dessert choices although we decided to hold off because we were so full and will have the Tres Leches next time ! We are new to the area and will be returning over and over again - our new favorite Japanese restaurant.

My friend and I loved the ambiance and decor of this new Harlem spot. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and service was fast. The food was fresh and tasty, with a wide variety of raw and cooked food. But the highlight of the evening was the drinks. One in particular - the Passion Fruit Margarita - had a cascade of different and refreshing flavors, and was delicious!

Sushi in Harlem??!! After living in Japan for 27 years, I came back to my native NYC and I thought I was a bit jaded regarding NYC sushi attempts. With Jado, I prepared myself for a "nice try" experience. If Harlem is having its new Renaissance it is places like Jado that are leading the rebirth. Amazing!!!! If Jiro does sushi then Jado does Harlem - like no other place. Red Rooster?!! You must be kidding. Jado has the dining experience hands down. The drinks are original, the ambiance is inviting, the service improves with each visit and the food...served by Japanese sushi chefs who know UMAMI. You can over pay for bad sushi in so many places in NYC. Or you can do the Harlem Renaissance shake at Jado Sushi.

Have been many times and usually love it. Service this time was AWFUL. Restaurant was fairly empty when we ordered, got crowded as we waited 90 minutes for food! Of course we said something and they told us it was because the restaurant was crowded, as people who came in an hour after we did were getting their food before we got ours. The food is delicious.

Do not dine at this place ever! My husband and I went to diner at 7:30 and the place was half full. The host was nice and the place seemed great. The service then ruined our night. First off our drinks took 15 minutes to get which is a long time to pour wine in a glass. My husband ordered a tempura roll and two pieces of sashimi for his appetizer and the black cod for his entree. They brought him the wrong appetizer and we sent it back to get the one we ordered. The server never apologized or even acknowledged he had put in the wrong order. This wasn't a big deal, but when we got the right roll we still didn't get the sashimi. The bus boy was the only one to ask if I wanted another drink. I declined not wanting to wait so long for a new one.
