A word from Jade Kitchen
THE NAME. A Stone. Ubiquitous and timeless. The ornamental stone Jade has been shaped by culture much like the gastronomical experience offered by Jade Kitchen. A product of study (Wayne is a C.I.A. graduate), experience and travel, Jade Kitchen finds itself nestled firmly between personal expression and a refined culinary palette. Just like the ornamental stone, Jade Kitchen is a humble compliment to its environment yet never overbearing, arrogant or pretentious. THE FOOD. Colorful and full of flavor, Jade Kitchen is a Bistro-style restaurant serving cuisine in the New American tradition. Jade Kitchen draws influence from various world cultures to create a unique dining experience within a unique setting in a unique part of town (Northwood Village). Also unique to Jade Kitchen is their concept of routinely changing their menu so that every visit has the potential to be exciting and (dare I say it)... unique.

Jade Kitchen reviews from OpenTable diners
  • A Small Gem packing great flavors

Jade Kitch is a low profile, modest looking restaurant. The decor is nice but clearly not where the money has gone. There's some fun art (some of which is for sale) and OK lighting. But the food is great and that's where the money's gone! The food tastes innovative, fresh, genuine and with a real focus on quality of ingredients. I had a parsnip soup (with no cream) and it tasted wonderful: packed with parsnip and with a healthy, strong flavor. My main course was a really interesting "Vibrant Chicken" with a great blend of interesting ingredients. It created a Middle Eastern-type impression on me and I really enjoyed it. The final bill was, in my opinion, very reasonable and I came away impressed.

Unlike what the name, Jade, implies this restaurant offers an eclectic menu of cultural delights as opposed to what the name infers, Asian. Jade is the name of the daughter's owners and together this husband and wife team (sometimes ably assisted by their daughter who waits tables) provides a streamlined but comfortable dining environment and a menu, though carefully chosen, is anything but spare. With excellent food, moderate prices, and generous portions, this restaurant ought to be on your list of regulars.

Always a pleasant evening. Very good food and warm atmosphere. Service spotty. Had to remind servers that we had ordered wine and dessert. All the food was delicious. It gets quite noisy when full.

One of the best meals we have had in some time. The service was phenomenal. Even my 18 year old daughter who is a very picky eater said "this is one of the best meals I ever had." All in all the Jade was really a true find.

Food is amazing, the chef is always experimenting with flavors. I have never had a bad meal. The owner and wife moved from California to this small up and coming area of Northwood several years ago. They are always welcoming, accommodating, laid back and put that extra touch on the food that makes your dining experience memorable. Truly a hidden gem. We had a very yummy lobster stew with sherry and popovers with strawberry butter and a divine goat cheese and beet salad. The menu is always changing and surprising.

  • A very disappointing dinner
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 9/29/2012
A very disappointing dinner at Jade Kitchen. I figured since they had a very small and gourmet menu that everything would be done to perfection. My husband asked for his steak to be cooked medium rare. The 1st time it was well done. The 2nd time was medium well. We gave up and didn't try for a 3rd attempt. The owner never even stopped at our table to apologize. That pretty much ruined dinner and any chance of us returning.

We've gone to Jade Kitchen almost since the day they opened and never been disappointed. A true family run experience. Wayne is an amazing chef who is enthusiastic and excited by what he creates. Everything we order has unexpected and wonderful flavors. On the few occasions that we have gone when it is not crowded, he comes out of the kitchen and explains everything about the various dishes with a twinkle in his eye...this man loves what he does and it shows in the superb food. Every time we go there it feels like a special occasion. One of the best in South Florida and just about anywhere else!

We have lived in this city our whole lives, but we moved to the western suburbs 25 years ago. We decided to brave the traffic and the distance to go to Jade Kitchen. We felt like we were invited to a friend's home for dinner. The owners are intimately involved in everything that happens in this place. The food was unusual and very good. Appetizers are worth the trip. Deserts are even better. The chef was very interested in our opinions and was not put off by a small criticism. Don't let the location put you off. It's in what was at one time a high crime area of the city. The area has an undeserved reputation from several years ago.
