A word from Jade Eatery & Lounge
Nestled into a cobblestone square just off Austin Street, Jade Eatery & Lounges’ address hints at why Jade is said to be “Forest Hills hidden gem”. The space integrates a zen-like atmosphere with inspirational quotes that adorn the walls and a serene koi pond presenting a large Buddha statue smiling benevolently on guests guiding them to a choice entree.

Our philosophy was to combine music, aroma and aesthetics to capture a unique gastronomic experience hence our motto “Indulge Your Senses”.
As a neighborhood Asian restaurant catering to local and visiting patrons we strive to maintain quality and consistency. Our concept provides favorite Pan-Asian and southeast Asian dishes as well as creative culinary innovations that have become neighborhood favorites. With signature dishes like Sushi Pizza and Calcutta Chicken, our group focuses on optimizing select ingredients and transforms them into exotic flavor profiles. That is our committed culinary mission.

The food was amazing. Drinks were also very good but I was told they sold out of a drink that I wanted to try. The service was really good and fast until we asked for the check. I swear it took longer than getting the food. The reason we were told was that the sold out drink had to be taken off. Despite this set back in service I would still highly recommend this restaurant.

I just moved to the neighborhood and had heard about Jade and read great reviews but I really wasn't impressed. The specialty cocktails were delicious but then our server told us when I tried to order another round that they sold out. Our dinner was mediocre. The tuna tacos were bland and clearly pre-packaged (jazz up the presentation at least!), the calamari salad was delicious but no knives offered at the table to eat it properly and the roll was nothing special. I'd probably return for cocktails because they clearly have their focus on the bar scene with the club-esque atmosphere.

I really don't like giving bad ratings, but I'm hoping mgmt pays attention to this. I ordered the Calcutta chicken which is my fav dish at Jade. It came to the table at room temp. I returned it for a more appropriate temp & it came back with the meat hard to chew. My waiter was kind and offered to exchange it, which I accepted. My husband had the steak which was also served cold. My children ordered rolls & the chicken fried rice & they love their meals. I'm hoping it was just a bad night & jade hasn't fully lost the edge they had in the neighborhood.

My boyfriend lives in Forest Hills and we decided to try Jade out for date night. It is right in the heart of Austin Street yet secluded behind the train station where you felt like you were in this hidden secret garden. The food was delicious and the prices were high but not unreasonable for the quality, especially the skirt steak. We will definitely be back!

Went for lunch with my family to celebrate my birthday. For a Sat afternoon (1pm) it was pretty quiet, which wasn't a bad thing. Service was great, waitress was efficient mainly b/c we were only one of 3 tables filled inside. One not so good comment--hovering busboy. Its one thing to be efficient its another to be overly attentive to the point of annoying. Towards the end, when we would have stayed and enjoyed another drink or two, we felt very rushed which was strange since there weren't any other customers at that point. It was lovely up until that point.

Come here often always enjoy the food drinks ambiance and service. Had poor service this time .... Waitress came over in the beginning to get drink order and then forgot about us. Took forever again to get a refill on seltzer water. Not usually like this but service was bad esp on a Sunday evening and the place was half empty.

The food was good, the waitstaff was amazing, the drinks were fabulous. Our waiter was named Eddie and though it was very busy he was very friendly and attentive to our large group. The lychee sangria is a must yummm! The manager was a bit scary looming in the background with a scowl but other than that my entire group had a lovely time.

Even though the menu was extensively changed since we were last here, the quality of the dishes presented was still worth the visit. They did remove my favorite dish, a Thai basil stir fry, but what remained was still better than any of the other dining places within several blocks around downtown Forest Hills. The place still stands out for me as a innovative alternative to their rather ordinary and mediocre neighbors. The menu was simplified with the number of dishes reduced by at least half. But now they offer "small plates" that can either be appetisers or ordered in quantity to make up a varied dim sum type meal. We always found the service to be top notch and on this visit we weren't disappointed.

I have been going to Jade for years, I was surprised to see that they have drastically changed their menu, and, so far everything I tried was subpar compared to what they used to have. Prices all increased, my menu favorites went away, & the addition of wok-charred vegetables should've been exciting considering my love for their work-charred edamame app- instead it was an overpriced version of beef and broccoli. They changed the formula of my favorite drink - the blooming lotus which used to have a cool crisp GIN was replaced by a syrupy cloyingly sweet fig-infused vodka. I will say the bartender happily changed the drink to the old school way. On top of all that, it took an HOUR for our food to come out! I'm disappointed to say the least.

Bartender Kelly was friendly & competent, pouring numerous drinks & maintaining both composure & communication barstool patrons. The pours were reasonably generous & fairly priced. Seating next to the koi pond was pleasant. An appetizer of mixed spring rolls was plated without imagination & was relatively bland, A choice of dipping sauces could make this an achiever. I had a spicy prawn dish that was beautiful to look at, but, without a knife, was virtually impossible to dissect. Fortunately, the taste of the sauce was very good & would not be too spicy for most. My companion's beef dish was apparently very good as well, as it was unusually polished off. A little more ingenuity in flavor and plating would improve things greatly.

I am accustom to receiving service from a server and at the end receiving a check and remitting my pay to that same server. Unfortunately, Jade tries to use technology to make it more convient for the customers but it's an epic fail. The worst part is that the servers do not seem trained to take our payment. I do love technology but there is a special bond between customer & server that a computer can not replace. Other then that, food had a nice Asian fusion mix & the ambience (minus the extreme noise & overcrowding) is similar to Sea, the Williamsburg location.

..and not for the better. First of all, they removed the popular and delicious Lychee Martini and replaced it with a lemony concoction that had no lychee in sight! They no longer have the crab ravioli or the pork fried rice without kimchee. No more molten chocolate lava cake; gone forever the scallion pancake. The service tonight was dismal. It's usually casual and unrushed, but tonight the waiter definitely had his mind on other things - quick and thougthful service not being one of those things. Dinner for 4 took over 2.5 hours. The shrimp dumplings remained a standout, flavorful dish, and the toffee brownie was surprisingly good.Overall, I simply did not fully enjoy my visit to the newly-updated Jade. Sorry, but it's just not the same.

I have eaten here several times and enjoyed it. They have recently modified the menu, and several items that I liked are no longer available. The salmon now has an overly sweet butterscotch sauce. There is also a lot of fried items on the menu. However, I liked the tuna taco appetizer, and the sushi rolls were fresh. The others in my party (who eat fried food) really enjoyed their meals. Although the atmosphere at the bar is great, I would not recommend eating in that area, as the waitress is also the bartender, and the service becomes a bit spotty.

We were a party of 11 celebrating a birthday. It took a while for everyone to arrive and the staff was very patient with us. They said we could bring a cake from outsiders they wouldn't charge to cut and serve it. They even helped us surprise the birthday girl, telling us where to hire. The service was good, they were attentive and timely. The food was very good too, although I'm not a big sushi person so I can't compare. The best thing about this place is the music and decor, the ambiance is on point. It's a little pricey which is why I would recommend it for a special occasion or a date. Overall had a great experience and will go back to try the Sunday brunch.

Coming back for the 2nd time was worst than the first. I made a request for bf's birthday and went in during a really slow time (there was 4 other small parties there).Even then, they forgot to bring out cake with a candle and I had to tell them twice, which ruined the surprise. On top of that, they were drilling something really loudly in the restaurant WHILE everyone was eating. For 10 minutes straight, we had to scream to talk. In terms of the food, the taste was poor considering the price. As a connoiseur of sushi and other fine food, this was a terrible place to dine. Everything was bland. So basically, bf's birthday dinner was ruined. The ONLY good aspect of Jade is the decor.
