  • "This restaurant was recommended to me by a peer at work. I took my wife there for dinner for our 21st wedding anniversary. The food was outstanding and the service was great. Just a word of caution if you are dining upstairs during the summer months, it can be very warm. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and I would definitely visit Jacqueline Suzanne's Bistro/The Carmichael Dining Lounge again in the near future. The cajun prime rib was excellent."

  • "The overall experience was great. The service was very good. Three of the four guests enjoyed their selections while the fourth guest found the pollock in the seafood crepe disapponting. The sauce was perfect though. The bread and wine were very good."

  • "We have eaten at this restaurant five times over the past year, we have found that the food and service is always great...that is until this last visit. We ate here on a Tuesday night and there were approximately four other tables dining. I felt bad for our server..she was alone; taking orders, preparing drinks, ordering food, water etc. We sat for over an hour and had only one drink and our appetizers. We ordered baked brie and had to send it back because it wasn't melted upon return it still really wasn't prepared appropriately but we were so hungry we ate it anyway. Normally I would recommend this restaurant but I am not sure that we will return any time soon. The bill was over $200 for three and for that we expected a great meal."

  • "Truly a gem in Inglewood. The character of the patina ceilings and the quaintness of the restaurant was a nice change. The brunch was fabulous, coffee was best ever and our server was one of the best we have had in years. We will definitely return and I have already referred them several times."

  • "What a treat to visit this little hidden gem in the heart of Inglewood. We came for Father's Day Brunch and were pleasantly surprised. Food was fantastic and our server was amazing. We will definately be back again."

  • "It's always pleasant to lunch here. They have daily specials for soup, omelets, and crepes and I am told the French Onion soup is superb although I did choose the omelet special. The portions are generous and tasty. Service is great."

  • "We enjoyed a window seat for lunch (I did exchange my chair for one that was a bit more sturdy). The service was friendly, prompt and professional. Our salads, a Suzanne's Salad and a Mixed Seafood Salad, were mountains of mixed greens on dinner plates. Suzanne's Salad contained bacon, blue cheese, pecans, and raisins, in a berry vinaigrette. The seafood salad was mixed greens with warm salmon, scallops and prawns in a garlic cream sauce - very tasty. The creamy house dressing was not evident. We ate every bite but would have enjoyed our salads more with a few less greens, more dressing, and the addition of a "bread" of some kind (breadsticks, flatbread, scone). Won't order salad again due to lack of pleasure and value. Will return. "

  • "My friend and I have had brunch here on a few occasions and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. This time, however, was quite different! I arrived first and was told my "lady" was upstairs. (I have an eyesight issue when going from the light into the dark. I can't see until my eyes adjust.) I "felt" my way upstairs only to discover she wasn't there, so I had to feel my way down the dimly-lit stairs. I was shown a table (for two) in front of the bar and said it would be fine, mainly because it had more light. After receiving fairly surly responses to a couple of questions we both ordered the Eggs Benedict. The Hollandaise Sauce seemed synthetic, the food was luke-warm & it was hard to cut the muffin."

  • "This was my second visit to the restaurant and was every bit as good as the first! Dinner was spectacular! My husband and I both had the prime rib feature. The entire meal was impeccably cooked - the yorkshire pudding?! Amazing? We also enjoyed the tapas platter and a creme brûlée for dessert. Restaurant was busy, but we felt well taken care of. Will be back for sure! "

  • "Disappointed in the meal it was not bad but it lacked in flavour was quite bland. The prime rib was grilled and was then quite tough and the veggies were just bland."

  • "My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and enjoyed the ambience, service, quality and presentation at Carmichael'S. The staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in the door. Our waitress asked about our anniversary and made us feel welcome and special and certainly the quality of the food we enjoyed added to that feeling. My Cajun Basa and Shrimp was perfect! We finished our meals off with a pleasant wildberry-ice cream crumble. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We had an excellent time their, this was our second visit in the week and this time we had the prime rib which was just outstanding, in addition Phil, our server was very informative and oh so positive and he also had a ton of information on just about everything. He made our night."

  • "We sat upstairs at the little alcove table ( watch your head, it's a low ceiling). We were celebrating nothing in particular, but we have decided that this restaurant is our go to place for a quiet romantic dinner. We will be back."

  • "This charming restaurant was just the perfect place for 2 women who were celebrating one of their birthdays and a long-time friendship. We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff who were patiently attentive as we talked away the hours. The food was tasty -- the only negative being it's temperature was lukewarm for both our meals. While the staff were kind enough to reheat (and replate!) the meal, it still came back just warm. Our waitress made thoughtful suggestions on what we might enjoy for our main course and provided history on the bottle of red wine we ordered. All in all, Jacqueline Suzanne's Bistro provided us a memorable evening and we would return. Only wished the shops of Inglewood were open late Thursday night!"

  • "Was excited to try this restaurant for Mother's Day brunch, as there were many amazing reviews, but sadly we didn't feel the same. Our reservation was at 11:30, and we had to wait until 11:45ish to get seated upstairs which was extremely warm (there was a fan going, but it made no difference). I almost felt like I had to faint it was so hot. I also brought my 11-month old, not knowing that this restaurant isn't really a kid-friendly place, but it was fine (she just say on my lap during the meal). At the end she was getting fussy, so my husband took her outside and our waitress said, "thank you for taking her outside. Us restaurant workers appreciate when people leave when their babies are crying." That remark offended me a bit. "

  • "I've been to J.S.'s a few times for brunch and it is a fantastic place. So naturally I thought it would be a great choice for mother's day. Unfortunately they had a set menu which was a 3-course deal which included dessert, cut out some of the normal items and skimped on the normal portions. The server we had that day wasn't very friendly or helpful and was anxious for us to leave right away after we ate which was unfortunate on Mother's Day when we wanted to spend a little extra time [reasonable] with our mother and our coffees (and no line up at the door). Not nearly as good as usual. We'll go back again because of their amazing Benedicts, but not on a special occasion with a prix-fixe menu."

  • "Went for lunch at The Carmichael last week. We sat in the window alcove. Very nice spot and brighter than the tables inside, although we couldn't take in the ambience of the room and the lovely tin ceiling (original from 100 years ago). We had the Curry Seafood Salad and the Asian Chicken Salad. Both were very tasty. Service is friendly and the food is good at the Carmichael. Will return."

  • "A beautiful little gem of a restaurant in Inglewood with wonderful food andgreat service, even if it did leave my wallet whimpering a little. Highly suggest this place if you want to treat yourself or a loved one for a special occasion. Also, you can be seated in the window if you'd like. "

  • "A cold wintry day, not many customers for lunch, yet the one server just couldn't handle it. The presence of Suzanne saved the day by checking up occasionally. Quiet, nice decor in an old building. Food hand cooked and very good. I've been here before in the evening and it was excellent."

  • "We went for brunch on a Sunday at 11:00. The restaurant wasn't busy yet so we were seated right away. The food was ok, the service not so great. We had to ask for jam, didn't ask if we wanted ketchup, wasn't offered any choice in toast. The portions were good and the restaurant is right in Inglewood so great location. Also had a bit of an issue with our groupon so the overall experience was not as good as we had hoped."

  • "The brunch here is always fantastic, both the food and service. My only advise would be to bring a sweater if you go early as it seems to take a bit for the boiler to heat up. This is the second time that I ate with my coat on my shoulders upon arriving right at opening. But sooooooooooo worth it:)"

  • "When we arrived for our reservation at 10:05. There was only one server and two more arrived after we were seated and tied their aprons and fixed their hair in front of our table in a mirror. The kitchen staff was loud and swearing, there were no music, and no brunch menus. However, once all the music was on and the servers were ready, our food was great. They just seemed very disorganized but they apologized."

  • "In 2013 the name changed a bit - adding on Charmichaels - so we worried the restaurant had changed hands. Not so! The decor has been beautifully upgraded to black and grey with less lace but it was still as cozy as before. The wait staff was new so there were appropriate apologies but we were not disappointed - in fact we'll be back soon. My roasted chicken was amazing!"

  • "Went here for The Big Taste. The seafood crepe was salty, the salmon dish was blah. The there was to much sugar on the creme brulee it tasted burnt because it had such a think layer. Also order crab cakes off the regular menu and that was soggy and not crispy so it broke into pieces as soon as we tried to pick it up. Also, the service was really poor. The server we had seemed like she didn't really want to be there or just didn't want to serve us because we were just have the big taste menu. She didn't even bother asking what anyone wants to drink and we someone did ask her for a drink she still didn't ask the rest of the table. When we all were able to put in a drink order they took forever to come because they forgot about it."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "The atmosphere in the restaurant is good and the overall service is acceptable. All it takes is only one server to ruin our mood to the restaurant for lunch. His body language and his tone of voice communicated to us that he does not value us as customers. We were sitting beside the bar. A lot of time the servers were standing there with their behind right beside us. I would not go back again for the service. Overall the food is decent but the carrot cake no flavors and on the sweet side."

  • "We came for the Taste of Calgary, and enjoyed our selections tremendously. A bit noisy, but that's expected at times. Great food. Great desserts. Very full-bodied coffee."

  • "The Big Taste menu provided variety which was a plus when dining here. All items were very good. The service was dull however, and we only saw the servers when meals were served."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "First time Big Taste Experience at this restaurant. Good food – service was not the best. Waiter didn’t know the Soup of the day, (waitress did) did not provide us with a wine/beer list and we were ignored for 15 minutes because we were early. Differentiator over a return visit would be the service – not the food."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "They made my choice gluten free and my friend had the Big Taste special - both were wonderful. Service was excellent -attentive without pushing us as we were not in a hurry. We both loved the decore. And both said we'd visit again. Thanks for a great meal."

  • "The Big Taste menu was quite good, and left me wanting to go back and try this place again. I had the prime rib, which was cooked exactly as requested. The service was wonderful, and the two people who helped us were extremely helpful for one of our party who has a variety of allergies. Would recommend."
