We had an outstanding experience here. The food was exceptional and the service was great! The staff were all very kind as each of them greeted and smiled at you as you passed them by. The waiter was very personable and helpful in recommending which steak to order. Will definitely return! I miss the food already!
My complaints:
- The noise at the restaurant was pretty loud. As more people settled in for dinner, it became quite noisy and we almost couldn't hear each other speak! I felt that it took away from the romantic evening. I wish we could dine downstairs.
- Note that only valet parking is available for $20. I have very high expectations of my team and this translates to service when I dine out. In such a high-end restaurant one would expect that the service would be flawless however our expectations were exceeded tenfold. From the greeting at the door to the fond farewell, the entire team at Jacobs worked seamlessly to ensure that we had all of our needs met. Special requests were tended to without hesitation, the team was professional yet friendly and the wine selection was OUTSTANDING. Food was great and far rivaled any competition in the city. Jacobs hit every mark and our entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. It was our second time there for dinner, and we were not disappointed as the restaurant lived up to the reputation it has so enviously earned.
It is a great neighbourhood restaurant and we are fortunate to have it located at the end of our street.
The food, drinks, service and ambience are all good reasons for a visit.

We went during a trip to Canada to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary . The meal started with complimentary sparkling wine to celebrate with. We had the Caesar salad to share, which was great, the dressing was the tastiest I have ever had. We choose the Canadian rib eye, aged 60 days, on recommendation of both Henry our server and the 2 gentleman at the next table, cooked medium rare. They were spot on , it was truly delicious .We shared sides of spinach, fresh and with a bit of bite, and duck fat fries, just perfect. A lovely bottle of Canadian red wine went down smoothly too.

The popovers were ok, but tasted a little overdone. Everyone should order the Caesar. It was interesting to see it being made, though the person making it was largely just going thorough the motions. The bacon in the Caesar and the steaks seemed rather salty. Therefore, I had no use for the extra "fancy" salts they offered. No one at the table particularly liked the sauces either. Wish they'd stick with the classic sauces. I found the lemon tart too sour. I could only eat three bites. Their steaks rival US west coast steakhouses, and their sides and appetizers are not just an also-ran, they instead stand in their own. Notably, the Jacobs Caesar, served table side, is a must-have.

The dry aging creates a very complex tasting steak. Our server was fantastic and very knowledgable. The experience is exceptional.
The meat is making everything thing tastes better. Wine tastes better with the meat, the salt also (they have different salts to match with the meat).
Service is top notch.
Price is on the high side, but worth every single penny.

We came up from Buffalo for the weekend, and we ended up being a half an hour late for our reservation, and it didn't seem to bother the staff, and we were seated immediately. We were given a complimentary glass of Champagne from Randall our server, who was the best. He even gave us the recipe for our new favorite cocktail, the "paper plane", If you like Jack Daniels this is a must try, it also has Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and fresh lemon juice. The steaks were perfect, the Caesar salad made table-side was fantastic, and the "paper plane" cocktail is now our new favorite. We were both impressed and enjoyed everything immensely. Yes, depending on what you order, it can get expensive but it is completely worth it if you want to treat yourself. As others have commented, the Cesar salad which is made by your table was really quite delicious. The steaks were cooked exactly the way we had requested and our side order of duck fat fries and sautéed spinach were wonderful accompaniments. Because I had mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary when I made the reservation we also received a complimentary glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. The service was also first class, our group was there for almost 4 hours and not once did we feel rushed. (Peter Luger's take note).
My only gripe was the dining room which i found too "modern" for what i would prefer in a steakhouse. This is literally the only point against them and is obviously extremely subjective and personal..
Incredibly, after all we ate, dessert was still ordered and also did not disappoint. We will most certainly be back, most likely to check out the bar with some work buddies.

From the get go, the service was excellent, as our waiter started us off with glasses of sparkling wine to toast the occasion, on the house. The caesar salad, prepared table side, was outstanding. The wait staff continued to impress throughout the evening, providing a very high level of service while still allowing us the right amount of intimacy for the occasion.
