Super menu. Perfect date night
spot or a place to go when you want a really good meal"

Went with a group of girls for
book club. They have a good happy hour menu. We all enjoyed our entrees, the short ribs were fantastic!"

Consistently good food with
excellent portions, nice variety of cocktail and wine menu, good service, cozy outdoor patio with fireplace. It was great place for date night with hubby but also super for date with my daughter who has a mature palate. Love the fact that it's a local place."

After a day at the Getty on the
hill and having to deal with the 405 construction traffic, we wanted to be out of LA for dinner but closer to our home in Orange County. El Segundo area was a good landing spot for a nice dinner. Jackson's lived up to their stars others have given. We all thought the food was excellent. The Beet salad which was praised as"the best one she ever had" another had the roasted chicken which looked as beautiful as it tasted I heard, the roasted vegetables were delicious but he did mention too many tomatoes - but then again he is not a big fan of those anyhow. I really liked the Tagliatelle pasta with ricotta, peas and pancetta with fried egg which was even more interesting than the Carbonara I make at home."

Cozy local restaurant with great
food! Have tried the Salmon Sandwich, Short Rib Sandwich, Grilled Corn, Mac and Cheese and the bread and butter is delish!"

Booked this place as my backup
plan for dinner for valentines day. Did not even realize how close it was to my house! Super cool place that was very busy, although that may be attributed to valentines day. We were seated right away thanks to that reservation and had a wonderful waitress. Kristen was very attentive all night even when I couldn't decide what to order! The food took a bit to come out..again they were very busy but Kristen kept checking in and kept us posted. That was nice. Food came out and was very good. I ordered the pepperoni flatbread pizza and my boyfriend ordered the burger. They were both very good. Loved the dipping sauces for his fries!"

Chose Jackson's for Valentines
Day. We were seated in the bar area which turned out to be a great place to sit. The service was friendly and fast. They have a very good wine list. We started with the Filet Mignon and Risotto appetizer which was excellent. Because the tables are close we got to see what the people around us ordered which in turn sparked nice conversations. I ordered the braised beef ribs with parsnip mashed potatoes and root vegetables and my wife ordered the glazed salmon over couscous. The chef came out to let me know that they had run out of the root vegetables and offered me the opportunity to substitute whatever I wanted. I chose the roasted corn off the cob which was excellent. We will return to try other dishes."

The service was wonderful. Food
was delicious! Drinks were great! We had a fantastic night and we'll definitely go back!"
Dined on 2/1/2014
Love the Miso Black Cod - Order
the entree size because entree size really only contains about 6 or 7 pieces of fish and you'll want ever bite. (Pricey, but worth it). All the food is great, and the Mac n' Cheese is really super as an appetizer to share. Reservations were easy also."

The review that I read on Open
Table was right on! Great place to eat and the service was excellent. Wild highly recommend it."

We were i town for a conference
and found Jacksons on Open Table. Based on the reviews we gave it a try. It was excellent! The food and service were outstanding. I wish I was there longer so that I could go back again!"

Good food and nice happy hour
options. Energetic atmosphere with comfortable enclosed outdoor seating."
Dined on 1/14/2014
We had heard many positive
comments about Jackson's so I made a reservation via Open Table for my wife's birthday. We were not disappointed. What a great place. Food was excellent and the people were super friendly."
Dined on 1/14/2014
Great place to go grab a bite
before a movie at Arclight, has a good vibe to it."
Dined on 1/10/2014
Had asked for a specific location
in restaurant, hostess sat us near busy door. She said she had not read the comments in my reservation. They were out of 2 menue items including the special. Waiter was forgetful and slow to accommodate, but had a great smile and attitude. We have been here a couple of times and really enjoyed the meal, but this last was a let down."
Dined on 1/11/2014
i've only been to Jackson's twice,
but both times i was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food and drinks were and how friendly the staff is. i would highly recommend this restuarant and definitely plan on going back many more times!"
Dined on 1/8/2014
The entry door was difficult to
find because it all blends in, but the interior decor is refreshing. It's western meets contemporary. I was their for lunch, but looks like a fun place to hang out for a happy hour or with a large group of people. The food isn't great, but it's not bad. It's a little on the pricier side, but overall, it was a good experience, with the exception of being overcharged by an extra meal, which I didn't catch on time, so, just double check your bill."

Had dinner there New Years Eve,
Great food and a wonderful night. Service was excellent and the staff very friendly. I have often seen this restaurant and wondered what it was like, I wish I had gone there sooner. It will defiantly be on my "I have to go back there " list."
Dined on 12/31/2013
We first went to this restaurant
shortly after it first opened and were underwhelmed. Particularly when compared to MB Post and Abigailes. We recently returned and they seem to be running in full stride. The food and the cocktails were very good. We sat in the bar to watch the game and Kamron the bartender took very good care of us. I'm glad they turned the corner and look forward to going back."
Dined on 12/29/2013
I love the ambiance of this
restaurant. It is like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I have my favorites, but want to try everything on the menu. The Black Cod was amazing the Asparagus salad was excellent. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Dined on 12/29/2013
First time eating here, will be
back. Pork belly and Mac n Cheese for apps. Miso cod and short rib for dinner. DOC for cocktail (kinda like an old-fashioned). The highlights for me were the polenta and sauce under the pork belly, the miso cod, and the cocktail. The pork belly itself was a little too soft and cut too big, prefer it in smaller chunks so that it's more crispy and less soft fat texture. The miso cod was fantastic and the cucumber salad side was a great compliment to the fish. The husband loved the short rib. Perfect cocktail."

Converted outdoor area for eating
was breezy although heated. Strange."
Dined on 12/22/2013
This was our first time to the El
Segundo incarnation of Jackson's (formerly in Hermosa Beach) and we were not disappointed. The food was incredible. The space is small and the ambience very simple but the chairs were extremely comfortable...made me want to stay and try more and more food! Good service, nice wine choices and cocktails. But what really blew us away was the food. Everything we ordered from salads to pasta to short ribs was fantastic. Foodie Food. And large portions...we're big eaters and even we couldn't finish everything!"
Dined on 12/21/2013
Wonderful restaurant, we've been a
number of times and will continue to come back, because we are never disappointed! Don't let the location next to the movie theater dissuade you - this is a very quality restaurant."
Dined on 11/30/2013
We went after a movie at Arc
Light. The decor and ambience is wonderful. We enjoyable a delicious beet salad, spinach flatbread and spicy red sauce pasta....all very good. We will definitely return."

The Thanksgiving fixed menu was
really good, and reasonably priced. The turkey was very tasty and moist, and the pecan pie was to die for."
Dined on 11/28/2013
...with a last minute change of
plans on Thanksgiving we hunted for a available reservation nearby and found Jackson's! The thanksgiving dinner was perfect! wonderful flavors, ample portions, happy server, everything we needed, wanted and more than we expected on a holiday and all a a very reasonable price. Thank you Jackson's! ...we'll be back!"
Dined on 11/28/2013
The food was exceptional but the
service was slow, for the number of guests that were dining in the early afternoon."
Dined on 11/22/2013
I absolutely love this place! It's
cozy, has a vintage feel, romantic, hip. It's a mixture of ambiance. The food, amazing! The service, amazing! The rustic, cabin wood style feel just makes me feel at home. The fireplace with the lounge chairs, is great for two friends meeting up, or for two in need of a romantic night. When you sit at the bar, you see all the fresh ingredients that are used in drinks. Limes, blackberries, peppers, lemons, strawberries, feels like a farmers market. There's not one thing, I dislike about this place. The owner almost always comes out to greet the guest, serve the your dish, or meets you at the front door. That, is a great person, with a passion for food and people."
Dined on 11/22/2013
I was long a fan of Jackson's
Bistro in Hermosa and I had not been to Jackson's Food and Drink in awhile. I went with a friend who is much more of a foodie than me and she also loved it. We sat on the patio, so it was not too noisy. We had the pork belly, the aspargus with egg, the filet mignon truffle risotto, the miso cod and a pomegranite and goat cheese salad. Jackson's also has a modest corkage and we brought our own wine. We absolutely loved every dish and I will not wait so long to return."
Dined on 11/15/2013
When one finds a gem like this
tucked into a nook of a neighborhood location it is a rare find! There have only been a few that we have found that would cause us to pause and reflect upon "how fast can we come come back for more!" One is on the Hawaiian Island of Hawaii - dead center of the island and now Jackson's. Fantastic! Now on our list of 'musts' each time we are back in town. Thank you!!"
Dined on 11/7/2013
The restaurant is promising and
the wines by the glass program decent, yet we have been twice and both times at least 50% of our dishes were nearly inedible. The cloyingly sweet fig and pomegranate salad nearly did us in last night; the pasta with shrimp was so overly sauced that I had to dig out the pasta onto another plate and strip off the sauce. Perhaps they should simply their menu? Just burgers, chicken and steak? Those all looked decent around us. My advice: simply and then when you get the simple menu right, amplify again. I don't think we'll be going back, however. We want to support local businesses but in this case the quality just makes for a poor meal. It's a shame."
Dined on 11/9/2013
We have been here about 5 times
now, and each time the food and service has been great. We usually try different things, and so far have not ever been disappointed."
Dined on 10/31/2013
I used to visit Jackson't in the
former Hermosa Beach location. It was a pleasant experience to again enjoy their offerings, this time in the new El Segundo location. Despite a totally different type of location the new restaurant manages to have the look and feel and most importantly the food of the former venue. It's nice to have another good local restaurant close enough to the aerospace companies to get in/out and enjoy quailty food. It's also nice to be able to eat and actually carry on a conversation versus a couple of peer restaurants that are overly noisy ---- nice job Jackson's."
Dined on 11/4/2013
Decided to try Jackson because I
often see movies with my hubby for Date Night. The place is really cute but the food was a huge bummer. I got the pasta and my hubby got the steak. Both were not good. And we LOVE to eat. It was noticeably not great food. The beer was okay but not great. Our table was wobbly and the fixed it with several folded up pieces of paper. Poor guy tried but over all for a $100 meal it just wasn't worth it. If they can get the menu to be better then...oh, who am I kidding. We won't be back. Missed opportunity."

We had a group of 6 our for dinner
on a Saturday night. Started with some shared appetizers- the Mac and Cheese was fabulous. Everyone ordered something different with ravs all around. The butternut squash soup was rich and delicious, the fig salad I could live on. The main courses were great and we loved the option of ordering smaller portions on some dishes. Then we shared 3 desserts- the Pumpkin pie was wonderful as well the berry pie. Will absolutely return."
