Jackson's Bistro Bar & Sushi
Perfect for Happy Hour DiningI had a friend come to town and wanted to take her to a place on the water while trying to avoid the beach bar atmosphere that is Hogan's Beach or the chain atmosphere of Bahama Breeze. Jackson's was the perfect alternative w/out committing to a commute to the beach. The fact that they offer sushi as well as an extensive menu made our decision easy of what to eat.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything we could have asked for.Great food. Great service. Great view. So good we went back the next night with friends.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for a business lunch meetsHostess went out of her way to put us in a quiet room area for a business lunch meeting. It was perfect for the occasion. Our server knew when not to interrupt, yet still took care of us. Sensible portions. Well done!
.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMJackson's is Great - Harbour IslandI had the good fortune of being the General Manager of the entire Market on Harbour Island when it opened back in 1985. I was in charge of everything, including the People Mover System, and I leased the very space in which Jackson's Bistro Bar & Sushi now resides. (It was once a marvelous Columbia Restaurant location.)
The other night I had the delightful experience of dining in my "old stomping grounds," and Jackson's did not disappoint me in any way. The cuisine, view, service, and general ambience was everything The Market on Harbour Island was originally conceived to be.
I encourage anyone visiting or living in Tampa to consider visiting Jackson's especially around sunset. Ask for a window table and the magic will unfold from there...6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed the experienceWe recently moved from Los Angeles, so I was a bit concerned on the type of atmosphere we'd find here in the Tampa area. More so, that we really like great food and we come from the land of anything and everything being available. That said, we really enjoyed Jacksons. We had the Scallops and the Crab-loaded Grouper. Simply amazing meals. The service was very friendly and attentive and you certainly can't beat the view here; even from the inside booths. Highly recommend.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food. Ok service.Food was fabulous. Service was ok. Wine was iffy.
First bottle bad. Second drinkable. But grouper
stack, scallops and lobster risotto and steak were
Awesome.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeHad a friend visiting from San Diego. Where do you take them for dinner that shows off Tampa? Jackson's is THE place. The waterfront, the city lights, the outdoor dining and great food, too. She/I loved it.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGood sushiThe sushi was good as always. I wish there were more variety but our food was good and service was great!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but sit outsideThe food was good, service was great, but sitting outside is the best way to enjoy this place.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMJackson's never disappoints!I've been to Jackson's for Sunday brunch, Friday happy hour, a baby shower, and girl's night out; I have never been disappointed. The sushi is always fresh and top quality. I especially love the fresh ginger dressing on the Ginger salad. Refreshing!
Looking forward to my next visit. :-)5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasing dinner at Jackson's BistroMy wife and I took our daughter and her date (for prom) to Jackson's Bistro Bar & Sushi. We were seated at a window so we had a beautiful view of the Tampa Bay inland waterway. The service was good and the food was very good. The sushi was especially good and we will certainly recommend this bistro as well as return again for dinner. Since it is located on the water, casual attire is fine as well as more formal attire.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNice ending to busy dayWe were attending a trade show at the Convention center. Jacksons is across the inlet and was a great end of the day. Prices reasonable, service great and great seating on the deck.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial OccasionMy husband, daughter and son enjoyed a dinner on the deck at Jackson's. We were seated a few minutes prior to our reservation time and at the location that I asked for. The food was wonderful, the service was great. They were very busy that night however we did not feel rushed to leave our table for other guests arriving. It is simply a great place to celebrate a special occasion or to just enjoy a nice dinner out!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timeThe only "bad" thing was the light level. Too low for me.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI had eaten lunch at Jackson'sI had eaten lunch at Jackson's before, but this was my first brunch experience. I was impressed with the variety of food and the quality. The fish and flank steak were excellent, as were the vegetables. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, and will definitely come back. I thought the price was very reasonable.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMJackson's Bistro has an impressiveJackson's Bistro has an impressive Sunday brunch. All of the regular breakfast items were available along with a carving station. It was a fresh seafood lover's dream...several kinds of fish, shrimp, and oysters on the half-shell. Our waiter, Maurice was great, even if he is a Dook fan.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Jackson's beforeI have been to Jackson's before for cocktails and company based parties. Truly enjoyed the experiences but this time was the first time I had dinner there and it was one of the best places I have ever had the pleasure of dining.
I and one of my guests had the Grouper Stack, the other had the scallops linguine and it was tremendously delicious. We also had the Lobster Mac & Cheese, Tomato Salad, Crab Ravioli. All so very good. Wonderful presentation of all dishes. As our waitress stated the corn emulsion was very tasty. Everything was light and every bite a joy.
Will definitely be back and refer others to Jacksons!!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMJackson's Redeemed!Second visit to Jackson's and my experience was different. Service was excellent (Thank you Frankie!). My colleague and I ordered Salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Fish was fresh and succulent. Pea puree was excellent as usual. Will certainly return.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDidn't like how dark the roomDidn't like how dark the room was where the buffet was..4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA beautiful/scenic viewMaurice, our waiter, could not have been more attentive. Yummy foods and lots of choices. We will certainly be back- with friends!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVEI absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Jackson's Sunday brunch! You definitely get your money's worth with the high quality, delicious food that is available. This is my 5th time coming here for brunch and I've never had a disappointing experience. Every time I've come the buffet items are always different which is great! It is also a good location if you want to have a large group (10+).4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place has it all!Loved the brunch buffet, the service, and the view. I wouldn't change a thing!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had reservations for 6:00We had reservations for 6:00 outside but arrived
at 5:15. We were seated immediately but
not close to the water. When a table became
available, we asked to move and were
graciously accommodated. Very professional
staff, excellent food, and beautiful view.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great, especiallyThe food was great, especially the sushi. Unfortunately we were seated by a large group of young girls. It was our anniversary (which I put on the reservation) so it was loud and not romantic at all. Looking back we wish we would have say outside by the water. Otherwise we had a pretty good experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food and serviceFirst, our server Sarah was great and that always makes everything better. The sushi was very good, their heirloom tomato salad wonderful, and our main courses were also outstanding, with the exception of the risotto, which was a little al dente for our tastes.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMJackson's seems to be veryJackson's seems to be very popular with the locals, which you should tell you something. The food is very good, including the sushi menu. The lobster bisque could be a meal- you will want to lick the bowl. The service is terrific. Freddie juggled our sushi/ regular menu orders so that everything came out at the same time. And the view. Sitting outside, looking at the water and the sunset, there isn't a more pleasant place to spend an evening. The staff is great and doesn't rush anyone. It is a little noisy- but that is because everyone is having a fabulous time. Still, the tables are spaced for privacy so you can enjoy your company. I would absolutely go back- again and again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for brunch last Sunday.Went for brunch last Sunday. Selection and quality of buffet was quite good. Seafood, including boiled shrimp, sushi (rolls) and salmon, was complemented with carving and omelet stations. The usual eggs benedict, sausage, bacon French toast, etc. was also available. Pastries were tasty. Service was good. The only complaint we had was that the decaf coffee was extremely weak. Jackson's will also validate parking for two hours.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server Chase was outstanding. Our server Chase was outstanding. We were quickly seated outside (per our request) and all was ideal. The focaccia bread served prior to our meal did not seem the freshest but, other than that, all was ideal. The food was great, service attentive, ambiance just right. Would go back again in a heart beat.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent ambiance and food!Excellent ambiance and food! We were visiting from Oregon and it was close to the hotel (Marriott)and the outdoor patio with view was wonderful. Our relatives from Tampa selected it and we returned a second time our last evening in Tampa. Eating outside for us is maybe two months a year! Our waitress the second evening was Maria (I think)--an older lady who really knew her stuff. I noted her stations were close to the entrance, which was a kind gesture for her.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place right on harbourNice place right on harbour isle. Close to the westin. Downtown nearby. It is on the water. Awesome view2/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
