  • Catering: Chef Brian McPherson brings his seasonally inspired American cuisine, hand crafted cocktails and the best of local waters and farms from Jackson 20 to all our private events located in the stylish Hotel Monaco Alexandria. Beautifully appointed event space, seating 10 – 150, play host to a myriad of events including intimate wine dinners, swank cocktail parties, elegant rehearsal dinners and beautiful weddings. Our brick lined interior courtyard is ideal for receptions or dining, from Jackson 20 cook-outs to garden-style receptions.
  • Special Events & Promotions: Join us in our outdoor courtyard for our pet friendly doggie Happy Hour from 5-8pm Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in April. Monthly pig roast April-October the second Wednesday of every month. Occasional beer and wine dinners.

  • "My wife and I enjoyed everything about our meal at Jackson 20. The brunch fare was delicious and the service was outstanding. Even the manager stopped by to say hello, I believe his name was William and he was very gracious. All around great experience and we could have asked for a better time. I would highly recommend Jackson 20 for Sunday brunch they are definitely giving the rest of Old Town a run for their money."

  • "I love the dishes offered in Jackson 20. I ordered the bison hanger steak and thought the flavor was supreme and the meat a bit chewy. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My dinner partner ordered the salmon with crispy skin and I tasted it. Fabulous flavor of wild salmon with sauteed brussell sprouts and other vegetables. We ordered dessert and I had the pecan pie which was not like the usual very sweet version. This slice was redolent with bourbon and the filling was well formed not gooey as some are. My dinner partner had an unusual piece of Chocolate lemon meringue pie. It was truly terrific, with a not too sweet chocolate filling topped by lemon layer and meringue on top. Unusual and good."

  • "I went to Jackson 20 for Brunch with a group of friends. I found the ambience and service to be outstanding and for that reason I will always consider going back. We were seated promptly and our waiter was very attentive. The menu covers the basic brunch selections and the portions are appropriate. I have always been pleased with the food however, this was the first time I ordered the omelette and I must say I was dissappointed. All fluff with little ingredients inside. This will not stop me from returning - I will just order something else next time."

  • "I attended brunch with a group of girls. Most of us have eaten at Jackson 20 before and were excited to go back together. The food was very good and served promptly. The only issue we had was that the restaurant is very loud. Our server was very quiet, which made it very difficult to hear him. The server also didn't say much to us at all, didn't really offer us any additional information and didn't greet us. He was, however, polite, efficient, and available so we didn't really mind. Overall, we will be back - especially for those hashbrowns!"

  • "Jackson 20 is the place for brunch in Old Town. Bottomless mimosas and great brunch dishes are a sure win. The service has been spotty in the past, but I've seen a great improvement. It's my regular spot for brunch, you can't beat it. Make sure you make a reservation though, since it's so popular it fills up and stays that way. I also enjoy their happy hour. The cocktail menu is to die for. They have some really great concoctions unique to Jackson 20. It's nice to sit outside on a sunny afternoon sipping on one of their specialty cocktails."

  • "Jackson 20 is an adorable a restaurant in old town. The food selection is not vast however it's very good. Also the cocktails are pretty good. The service is always spot on, I do recommend that you make a reservation. Try the mushroom gnocchi, kielbasa, or the Buffalo steak."

  • "It was my friend and I's first time dining here. We were greeted and seated immediately, which was great - but that was just about the only 'service' we received. Our server's attitude screamed, "I do not want to work right now," as he was extremely slow to take our order and lacked adequate interaction (friendly smile, coming by to check-up on us, etc). We had the tuna carpaccio as appetizer to share, and I had the amish chicken as main entree + 2 glasses of wine + cheesecake for dessert. Tip included, I paid $72 just for myself. As a foodie, I don't mind paying a price for a good meal, if it was an enjoyable experience (good food + service). I would only recommend this restaurant for their food. They need to do something about service."

  • "Quality of food did not match the prices...even for Old Town. House wines were very good. I believe my Cab was from Egret. My wife had a sauvignon blanc that was respectable. One appetizer was over-cooked and over salted, the other was excelent. The main courses were excellent, but again, a bit salty (perhaps from the omnipresent pork bits?). There are better options in Old Town, but Jackson 20 is...ok. I'd give it a C+ for food. Our waitress, Maria, was very attentive and pleasant. The closer you are to the bar area, the louder it is, but in general, very good ambience. We may try it again - may have been an off night for the cooks."

  • "Always a favorite brunch spot, this time no differnt the waiter was excelent. We both had bottomless mimosas and our glasses never went below half full. I had the B.E.L.T. (bacon, egg, lettuce and friend green tomato), and he had the eggs benedict. Both were great!"

A member of our party has a nut allergy - a fact we forgot to mention until after we placed our order. Our server was absolutely wonderful about it: she was concerned without being weird, and thoughtful and accommodating about the whole thing. Diners with allergies may know that restaurants often fumble the PR side of this big time, but Jackson 20 and our incredible server got it so right!"

I love the fresh local vegetables the chef incorporates into his menu. It's almost as though he walks across the street to the farmers market, picks up his veggies and then prepares it for you on the spot! Tasty is all I can say... really tasty!!!!"

  • "The ribs at Jackson 20 are to die for!!! In fact, I'm going back tonight and may have them again!!! The wine list is terrific and the table service is the best in town! Maria served us and she is super attentive. All of the Jackson 20 family go out of their way to let you know how welcome you are. I also highly recommend the half chicken. It is juicy and full of flavor! The chefs at Jackson 20 are so talented. I love everthing about this restaurant!!!"

Service was good, and food would have been pretty good, except that everything on my plate was cold--scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, all cold. Toast was served separately, and a little late, and that was cold too. First cup of coffee was good, but refill on top of a little left in the cup was cold. Can't recommend."

  • "I was in town for business and found this restaurant on-line. I really enjoyed being able to book my table on-line. We were greeted warmly, had a great table along the comfortable benches, awesome service and spectacular food. We were hungry after a long day and the portions were plenty and very tasty. I had the chicken dish with brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and carrots. Very tasty for such a simple meal. The beat salad to start was great, too! I'd recommend it and go back again! We ordered sparkling water and they refilled it often and asked how things were several times!"

  • "I'm not a big fan of potato chips, so when they arrived as a side with my portabella sandwich, I initially avoided them. I'm so glad I did try one. The homemade potato chips are sliced really thin, have just a dash of salt and have such surprising flavor -- I ate every one on my plate! We also ordered the corn and ham fritters -- seriously tasty with a crunchy outside, creamy corn bread, actual kernels and meaty bits of ham. And then you dip them in the avocado cream -- wow! That was one delicious breakfast."

  • "Took my parents to Jackson 20 for brunch. Friends kept telling me how spectacular the brunch was. While the food and the atmosphere weren't at all terrible I can't say it was anything to rave about necessarily. If you have people coming to town who like to keep it simple and stick to the basics of brunch this is a good spot. Due to the acoustics of the restaurant though it is quite noisy when at capacity."

  • "I was attracted to the southern menu on open table but when I arrived was dismayed to see it was part of a hotel but was a cute place. My beet salad was very good. The wine choice also good. I ordered shrimp and grits, there were a few problems with the fish but it was good enough that I finished it."

  • "Maybe my wife and I just ordered all the wrong items, but everything we had was just too heavy. The food was good, but just too much. For example, we ordered the lobster dip appetizer expecting a small bowl of really good melted cheese and lobster with small toasts to get us started, Instead, they brought a huge loaf of bread, hollowed out and filled with melted cheese and lobster. Once again, it was good, but it would have been much more appropriate for a table of 4 to share rather than 2. My wife didn't touch her entree after that. My osso buco was good, but the sauce was very thick. The service was very good, not rushed at all. I think we will go back with either a bigger party or order different items."

  • "My husband and I had lunch there on Valentine's Day and we had one of the special's pointed out to us by our waiter. It was the bbq salmon, collard greens and mac & cheese. The salmon was very good, but those greens were awful!!!!!! They tasted like candied collard greens. They were so sweet I felt like I got a cavity after taking a bite. The mac & cheese was just OK. I have had better. I don't think we will be going back there again, regardless if it is across the street from my office."
