Jack's Restaurant is a casual dining experience offering Turner New Zealand all natural meats and fish as well as Italian cuisine. Dinner is served seven days a week starting at 5:00pm. Breakfast on Sundays 8:30-2:30 Catering and banquets are available. Great for business groups. Happy Hour everyday from 5:00pm until 6:30pm in the bar.Continued

  • "My wife nor I wanted to cook so where does one o on Easter? Easy our great stand-by Jack's. Made reservations and even though they closed early we never felt rushed and the dishes we had were, as usually, prepared to perfection. We both love this place!"

  • "The best meal on the table by far was the Filet with mashed potatoes, grilled carrots and a red wine reduction. Cooked perfectly, tender, scrumptious. A step down was the Rack of Lamb and the Veal. Very good, but not as good... Pass on the seafood pasta arribiata. We ordered it spicy, which it wasnt. And I wouldnt call it "seafood" - its more like (excessive) Calamari and assorted other pieces of shrimp. But I would go again, and order the Filet. Like I said. Excellent"

  • "Jack actually seated us! It was the 15 year anniversary of the restaurant and dessert was Spumoni on the house. I had a delicious Salmon-they were so accommodating with my no dairy, no gluten diet. I was so happy with the ease in which they offered changing out vegetables. My friend had delicious lamb-it was perfectly pink. My other guest had the seafood risotto and it was such a generous and very very fresh seafood. Everything was so tasty. I can't wait to return to this Dana Point gem. Satoria"

  • "As we walk in, the greeting is good, the request for a quieter table honored. There's a group in the outdoor section having a great time. Our booth is the same one we had 2 years ago. The clientele is basically the same, too -- mostly Dana Point natives who love having somewhere to eat where they can depend on great food, a personal environment, and generous drinks. All three times we've been there have been exceptional experiences, of which the grilled carrots are a part (don't pass them up), as well as evolving menu items focused on quality and taste; one supplier is Turner from New Zealand, for both meat and fish. As diners leave, the staff and diners converse about the present dinner and the next. There aren't many places like this."

  • "We love Jacks....it's one of our favorites. Our food is always good, fresh and consistently prepared. It's great that sides/salad are included...that makes it a great value. Our only issue was that we wanted to order from the menu and it was not available on Valentine's Day, it was Prix Fixe (not a big fan of those menus). I was really craving our favorites....the waiter was able to accommodate us which was nice....Thanks Jack!!"

  • "Jack's is a refreshing find, insofar as they have stuck to a more traditional theme than joining the new wave of trendy "American new" restaurants and loud gastropubs. The food is exceptional. I enjoyed a mushroom and filet mignon fettuccine in mustard cream sauce, and my date had duck breast with cherry sauce that came with spinach and mushrooms. There is definitely something for everyone on the menu. They even have a few vegetarian and gluten-free selections that looked outstanding."

  • "We have been eating at Jack's in Dana Point for about 14-15 years. We have never had a bad meal or poor service in all of these years. It is our go-to restaurant for special occasions and for a nice dinner out. Jack greets his guests with warmth and familiarity and the food is delicious whether you select pasta, pizza or one of the fine dining selections. Special requests are accommodated with a smile and the staff is very on top of things. My husband wishes they would bring back the Portobello Pork Chops but that won't stop us from recommending Jack's to anyone who asks."

We had a wonderful time, the food was outstanding and delicious. My husband is still talking about it days later. The restaurant was a bit loud but that wasn't that big of a deal and that's the only negative I can think of. Oh and the wine we had?.....TO....DIE....FOR! We loved our visit and I think I will celebrate my Birthday that is coming up!"

  • "Found Jack's on Open Table, as I began my search for a Valentine's Day evening. We were greeted immediately and taken to a small table - nice and quiet location. I made a error by not recognizing that Jack's would have a special, limited selection menu. As such, we had to reset our expectations. The halibut plate was wonderful, tender and moist with outstanding flavor. The salmon was tasty, but not dry. The wine selection was ok but they did have a premium red available by the glass that was quite nice. I would like them to expand the bottle selection with some nice higher end selections. Jack's was an outstanding choice for us and I've now added them into my local fav's.."

This is the kind of place you want near your home - if we lived nearby, it'd be our default for "I don't feel like cooking tonight" nights.   • "I took my wife to dinner for our 11th year anniversary. From the minute we walked in to the restaurant, we were treated great and service was excellent. We ordered a mojito and a glass of bourbon. We had the duck confit appetizer and it was delicious. We then ordered dinner. My wife had the crab crusted roughy and she loved it. I had the grass fed strip steak served with organic mash and organic roasted carrots. All in all I definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "It was a nice evening. We had a nice table in the corner. Pizzas are really the best thing we found and we are a lot! Wish there was a little more of a variety, lots of veal so it's good if you like veal. My scallops has sand in it, bummer. We were in a good mood and everyone was very nice. Service was good but felt a little forgotten because the bartender was our server and he was pretty busy. Good spot. Probably won't return just because the flavors weren't there for us in the sauce but many people enjoy it!"
