  • Public Transit: Silver Spring Metro station is .6 miles from our establishment (approximately a 12 minute walk). We are 6 blocks south of the metro on Georgia Avenue. Metrobus line 70 stops on Georgia and Sligo Avenue. Metrobus 79 (express) also runs on Georgia Avenue.

  • Parking Details: There is metered street parking surrounding the building and a Montgomery County Parking Garage located directly across the street from our main entrance on Sligo Avenue.   • "We dined as two middle-aged couples before an event at the nearby cultural center. Reception and service were excellent, on a miserable rainy night. Menu was interesting and varied and accomodated the vegetarians in the party. Portion sizes were reasonable and service was friendly and speedy, attentitve but not rushed or obtrusive. We discovered this gem through a search for local restaurants on Open Table since both couples live in Northern Virginia. It was helpful that the website said the entrance was around the corner on Sligo since it was an unfamiliar neighborhood for us."

  • "From the outside, we weren't even sure Jackie's was open! We had drinks in the side bar. EXTREMELY interesting and creative cocktails. We consulted with the "beverage director" when we sat down because the cocktails on the restaurant side were different and even better!! The food was right on with smaller portions just right for trying 2-3 dishes. I've had small plates experiences where I leave hungry and this would never be the case here. They are smaller portions, not small plates. The mashed potatoes, cheese fries, margaritas, rib eye, lobster, everything was amazing!"

  • "At Jackie's, you're looking at true top-notch food, and great drinks too. My girlfriend and I had wild mushroom confit, lobster with squid ink tagliatelle, char with this crazy and awesome avocado, pineapple/chili, and tomato garnish, venison, ribeye, and chocolate desert. The plates are tasting size. We also had 2 mixed drinks each. The ambience is very cool, slightly industrial, and the service was impeccable. This isn't a McDonald's or a Denny's, you should expect to pay for the quality, but that said, I've paid close to twice as much other places for the quality of the food and drink at Jackie's. For what you get, it's a good deal, and there's a reason the head chef was a guest on a Bobby Flay show."

  • "We went to a performance at the Montgomery County performing arts center on a Sunday afternoon, and wanted to do an early dinner after the show. we found Jackie's due to proximity and saw some wonderful reviews -- boy were they right! Everything we had was WONDERFUL. The plates are small, meant for sharing, even the entrees (for example, the delicious rib eye steak was about 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches). They had a great deal on sunday -- 3 plates for $27 (one from snacks and veggies, one from farm and sea, and one dessert). three of us did 2 of those deals and got one more veggie and entree, and we had PLENTY. Loved the brussel sprouts, the marinated artichoke, the arctic char, and the amish chicken and both desserts."

  • "The only way to order is by tasting plates. You choose three tasting plates for a fixed amount, or four and the price goes up. You will find yourself devouring the contents of the bread basket waiting for the next tiny, yet elegant, tasting plate. The irony is that the super small portion of the tasting plate is served in or on the largest dish possible. Everything is so rich with cream and such that, yes, you can fill full after three tasting plates. Seemed arrogant for the restaurant to imply that I don't know when to stop eating and take home a doggy bag. Obviously no wasted food at this restaurant. We were licking our plates and bowls between servings of a tasting plate. By the way, absolutely no refill on the bread basket."

  • "Jackie's was a terrific find! Where else can someone who despises brussel sprouts polish off a whole plate of them? I loved them at Range, but this was better. Korean chicken, papperadell with oxtail ragu, fluke and artic char were all plates we'd have over again. We found the portions more than ample, too. And dessert -- how even to choose? Our knowledgeable server helped us with this and the tropical fruit vacherin was outstanding. This is a serious kitchen -- imaginative food, quality ingredients, beautiful presentations and a thrill for the taste buds. My one regret is that we don't live closer. Bethesda needs a restaurant of this quality, which would be packed if in this area. So we will make the drive. It's well worth it."

  • "This has to be the best deal in MoCo. On Mondays only, there is only one item on the menu - for $12 you get 3 pieces of expertly seasoned and cooked plump friend chicken, kale cooked like collard greens, a voluptious heap of sensous potato/deviled egg salad, a biscuit and HOT DOUGHNUTS... Are you kidding me??? Amazing amazing amazing. Go to Jackies any other night for a truly gourmet meal. Go on monday with the kids for an inexpensive delicous meal."

  • "Best roasted brussel sprouts I've ever had. Pork belly was excellent and so was the short ribs entrée. My only complaint was sitting under this row of very bright spotlights. While they turned them down when I mentioned it, my husband and I felt very warm during the dinner from the heat of the lights. Will definitely go back and ask for a different table."

  • "I'm still counting my blessings that Silver Spring is home to such a fantastic restaurant. The chef has really creative, delicious ideas and we loved everything we had. .The Sidebar that ajoins the restaurant has very great signature cocktails. We were there on a Friday night and the noise level was very high, so it was relief to go over to our table where it was much more quiet. the younger crowd may enjoy the bar scene more than we did (early 50's)."

Considering the ingredients, presentation and location the price of the small plates should be in line with the size, not the price of full size portions. So, a bit pricey for a neighborhood gem."

  • "I've been here three times now, and each time did not disappoint. I welcome the passion and enthusiasm from each server about the food and the delicate preparation that goes into each dish. Since the dishes are generally smaller (think slightly larger tapas), you're able to try a number of different preparations.   • "Colleague from the UK... staying at the Sheraton... Meet Me at Jackies! You've never let me down, and you didn't last night. Fun and delightful stuff (the endive starter was MY pleasure--- I did NOT share it!). Arctic Char was moist, tender.... thank you, with tiny little potatoes and perfect tiny cubes of veg... not too much, not too little... just right, And this time, the waitstaff was totally professional--- no trainees/ A tad Mr Personality... but he knew the menu, the wine list... and enough to check back at the right times. Urban Butcher, Olazza and Kitchen Bar notwithstanding, Jackie's is the only great dining, to take friends, to meet and greet ... certainly East of the Park, and possibly North of the District Line"

  • "We had high hopes after checking out the menu, but the food just did not live up to the descriptions. We started with donuts which were freshly made but lacked in flavor. Both the chocolate and coconut glazes were lackluster. The omelette was rubbery- definitely overcooked the eggs, and the "oxtail" consisted of a couple chunks of fat, with virtually no meat. It was also pretty small and came with no side dish- not worth the $12. Husband had the corned beef, which was okay but on the dry side. Biscuits and gravy were so-so. The home fries were okay but had to dump salt all over them. The basil-limeade had no basil flavor whatsoever. Overall the food was a disappointment and I wouldn't go back here again."

  • "I ate here like 5 yrs ago hoping that I could still get the great steak that I once had, maybe those great sliders. Unfortunately, those items were no longer on the menu replaced, instead, by a tapas/small plate menu. I thought the food was good, but some items were very overrated. The most annoying menu item was the Korean barbecue chicken. I paid $9 for this dish and basically got two "small" chicken wings. For $70, I guess I was expecting just a little more. Our service was great, but I just thought it was a little high for what you got serving size wise."
