  • Public Transit: Silver Spring Metro station is .6 miles from our establishment (approximately a 12 minute walk). We are 6 blocks south of the metro on Georgia Avenue. Metrobus line 70 stops on Georgia and Sligo Avenue. Metrobus 79 (express) also runs on Georgia Avenue.

  • Parking Details: There is metered street parking surrounding the building and a Montgomery County Parking Garage located directly across the street from our main entrance on Sligo Avenue.   • "We were very disappointed when we visited the "new Jackie's" back in the early spring and had not returned until Sat evening (having been a regular for years). We were disappointed earlier because we weren't seated in the area requested and the host was a little haughty, which we thought was silly. Sat evening was very different. The host who took our reservation request earlier in the afternoon made sure we were seated where we had asked, the food was significantly better (the new chef seems to have found his bearings), and our service was good overall. Matt made certain our drinks were perfect. We will start returning to one of our longtime favorite restaurants now."

  • "Jackie's has long been a favorite "occasion" place for my wife and me. The atmosphere is cute and trendy, and the food has always been top-notch. Sometime between our last and this visit, Jackie's changed to a small plate restaurant. To their credit, all the plates we ordered were appropriately sized for our waiter's suggestion of 3 plates per person. Also, everything we ate was delicious. However, my wife and I both felt that Jackie's was better off before, and we don't think we'll be returning. Previously the menu was always creative, but comforting. Now, plates are "dotted" with sauces and foams. Caviar is used as a topping for potatoes for no better reason than it's fancy. Great food turned into food that is trying too hard."

  • "After a hot day of moving furniture we found this little neighborhood gem. Very ambience. Really delicious and varied offerings. Top notch service. We did the 3 and 4 course meals fixed price meals. A 3.5 course meal would have filled me up so unless you are really hungry stick with the three course. There is enough to sample among a group so vary orders. Pricey but worth it."

  • "We had not been back to Jackie's since the menu was changed, but what a great surprise. The food was delicious and we had a great waiter. It's fun to share small plates but you can rapidly run up the bill. The wine list is nice with choices for just a glass if you want. Desserts were wonderful!"

  • "Jackie's features a seasonal menu that is fresh and delicious. As expected with small plates, the food arrived in waves and we started with the brussels and anchovy crisps, both of which were surprisingly delicious. Next were the green tomatoes. We wish that we would have realized that they were fried tomatoes. That was not our favorite and frankly we didn't eat them. However next were our "main meals", and I ordered the char and my wife had the wagyu. My char was fantastic, but wow, the wagyu was outrageously delicious. I'd order 3 of those next time! That made up for the disappointing fried tomatoes. I also appreciate that our waited was attentive, friendly, and that our wine was very good and my water glass was never empty."

  • "Sometimes the evil dinner forces just merge. We like Jackie's and the usually excellent food and drinks and especially their any-3-items for $27. After days of family guests we were looking forward to time together and a nice dinner. However, dinner was a mix of small but loud running children, slow kitchen, too many below-par food items, and a really bad cocktail. The waiter graciously volunteered couple of excellent complementary glasses of wine and that did ease the pain enough to keep the neighborhood Jackie's in our go-to list."

  • "I've been coming to Jackie's sporadically over the past six years - crossing town to do so. While I appreciate the service, generally like small plates and appreciate the attention to presentation I am frankly finding it increasingly and unbearably pretentious. I had the scallops - and they were good but I think they were actually cut in half. Again - I have no problem with the concept of small plates, haute cuisine or with paying for it - but it wasn't that great and both me and my date felt unsatisfied. Think my Jackie's run is done. Might drop in for their cocktails before heading elsewhere to eat, but that's about it. Shame since I had sentiment towards the place as one of my first and favourite DC dining experiences."

  • "The bulletin should be out - Jackie's menu isn't like it used to be - and not quite for the better. While the hip ambiance was still there, and food quality was high, patrons should be warned of strict portion control! Either change the name to "Jackie's Tapas House" or offer larger portions as entrees - but don't assume that patrons should plan accordingly simply based on a price tag. While our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, service was PAINFULLY SLOW - a 2 and 1/2 hour sitting for 4 people! We dared not order additional items for fear of staying the night."

  • "We used to love Jackie's. But in our last two or three dinners, we have found the food not so special and the portions shrinking . My quail first came out uncooked, the waiter took it back, and brought a free appetizer--Brussels sprouts. Nice thought but Brussels sprouts are one of a handful of foods that I don't like. Bring back the old menu and the old portion sizes."

  • "We wanted to go to dinner Saturday and couldn't decide where to go. We have eaten at Jackie's many times. I decided to find something new. Nothing "new" appealed. I checked all the menus of the restaurants I was considering and there was no question: Jackie's was where we were going. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. I had a wild greens salad, then a dish with small sliced tomatoes and feta cheese, and then pork with slices of orange beets. My plain descriptions here do not do justice to the food. The selection of items in each dish and the accompany sauces and seasonings set this apart as a meal to remember. It was a very special evening."

  • "Jackie's clearly has a creative chef, but the night we went, a heavy hand overwhelmed good ingredients. The soft shell crab was fresh and lightly battered, but the accompanying sauce smear was too sweet and powerful for the crab which demands delicacy. The stellar halibut was cooked until dry, the little dumplings tasted like under cooked matzah balls and the petit squash were lost in a coying sauce. The brussel sprouts and quail were a hit!"

  • "There's so much to like about Jackie's, among them the change-ups in the menu. You won't be bored eating here, ever! Summer brings an emphasis on fresh fruits, vegetables and lightly prepared fish. The halibut was outstanding and I savored every bite. Fried green tomatoes were crispy, light and full of flavor. The truffle noodles, despite sounding heavy, was not. We polished that off along with the brussel sprouts which are a must-have every time we come. A new addition was a pork tenderloin served with delicately flavored cippolini onions and scrumptious roasted fennel. I can't say enough good things about the serious cooking that goes on here. It's creative, delicious, and inventive and we always look forward to a return visit."

  • "I think had we gone on any other night than Monday, we would have given a much higher rating. Monday night is fried chicken night and that is all that is on the menu. Fried Talapia can substituted for chicken. Having a gluten allergy, the evening looked to be a disaster, but the terrific waiter, Collin, persuaded the kitchen to give us the side dish of ribs as a main course. We will try it again on a different night."

  • "I held a business Brunch at this restaurant. The food was very good. The staff seems a little stressed. It appears that one section of the restaurant could not be seated because it had a foul order and the staff could not identify what was causing it. One would think management would have stepped in to provide instructions on how to care of the situation. Once that issue is addressed I am sure anyone would fully enjoy their experience."

  • "I visited Jackie's for brunch, and was pretty disappointed in the experience. We ordered the cinnamon rolls to start, but they were very dry, as if they were not freshly made. Our waiter was not the most attentive, so we sat with empty plates and coffee mugs that needed to be refilled. I was surprised that when the waiter for the table next to us refilled his patron's coffee mug, he didn't offer to refill ours. When we finally did get more coffee, it was cold. However, the omelets that we ordered were very good - similar to the level of quality that we would expect from Jackie's."

  • "We were looking forward to trying Jackie's since we moved to the neighborhood. I had worried about getting a reservation at the last minute on a Saturday night, but I soon realized my fears were unfounded because there were many open tables when we arrived. We were seated right away and the servers were nice, but the prices for the food were unjustified. The waitress warned us that the portion sizes were "tasting sizes" (something we wish we'd known before choosing to dine there) and she was not exaggerating. We thought the prices were a bit high before we realized we wouldn't even be getting a full sized meal! The food tasted fine, but the skimpy portions and high prices ensured we'll never return for another dinner there."

  • "If you are looking for a place with great food & a fun atmosphere were you can try new tastes, this is it! Jackie's does "tasting plates," so you order several dishes and everyone can try a few bites. Our very knowledgeable and friendly server recommended 3-4 plates per person, and this was perfect for us. Expect seasonal ingredients mixed with everything from Wagyu beef and black truffles to staples like potatoes and deviled eggs . Seafood, vegetarian, meats of all kinds all well prepared in surprising and fun ways and beautifully plated. Wine list has some great choices and is reasonably priced. Exterior is unassuming, but don't pass this one by. Great dinner out to celebrate our anniversary. Will definitely be back (with friends)!"

There were no normal options, everything had a weird name. We had a nice bottle of wine and the service was good, but neither my date or I would return there."

  • "Six of us had a family celebration dinner on a weeknight; we were seated quickly, and the menu was explained (new owner & chef since we'd been before). All the plates were very good, service was good and attentive. Only issues were (1) a rather chilly temperature indoors, when it was very nice outdoors--maybe catering a little more to the working staff in the kitchen, rather than the customers; and (2) a noticeable lack of total vegetarian dishes on the menu, which is surprising for Silver Spring these days."

They offer a three course meal for $27 and I had the fried green tomatoes, sea scallop with foie gras and two tiny beignets for dessert. It was fine. No complaints but I would not be in a hurry to go back. Not sure what that's about. "

  • "We have been before at Jackie's, always great, but this time, the service was super slow. The restaurant was half empty, but it took them more than 30 minutes to serve 4 salads/appetizers, and more than 40 minutes for the rest of the food! The food was delivered not at the same time either, so we had to still wait longer to make sure everybody was fully served before we ate together... Not good. What happened Jackie's? The restaurant is not cheap, so we expect a little bit better service."
