Jackalope RanchGreat ambience.This is head and shoulders the best Happy Hour place in the Eastern Valley, and rivals any other place in the valley as well. I had a great salad a week earlier that I had to eat again so this is why I chose Jackalope for a lunch date with an old friend I had not seen in a long time.
This is clearly a great choice for such a moment. I still believe the food is not up to par with other comparable restaurants, but they are making progress. The early bird specials are a nice treat and the prices include a small salad as well. I would order the sauces on the side next time as the spices were a bit strong for someone who prefers things on the mild side.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable experience!Our daughter attended a wedding reception here and was very impressed with the food and atmosphere so we thought we would give Jackalope a try, our first experience was enjoyable. The service and food were very good; to start we shared the Caprisie appetizer, then I also had the Jicama Avocado salad, both were good. For the main course I had the prime rib (a little dry) and my wife had the tamale, which she enjoyed very much. We sat inside but after we completed our dinner we took a walk around the outside, very nice! We requested a quiet table and got a good one. When I told the Maitre de of the occasion she said they would provide a treat gratis. A big brownie with two scoops of ice cream and whipped cream arrived as the finale. Our guy was very appreciative. While we would have enjoyed dining on the patio, we were not unhappy dining inside. I selected the ribs, and my wife chose the filet mignon. Both entrees were nicely prepared and quite tasty. We also enjoyed a glass each of the Jackalope pinot grigio, which was inexpensive but very good. Our server, Manuel, was both friendly and efficient.
