  • "Place is beautiful, inside as well as outside. Lovely environment in which to dine. Service was very attentive. Ribs are not as good as Tony Roma's, however the fish was outstanding. Also, the prices are quite high as everything is a la carte except for barbeque,. Probably won't go back for dinner, but will try for lunch or happy hour."

  • "Outside was beautiful but very noisy and inside was huge and again very noisy. The food was what I would expect from a restaurant like Applebee's- just more BBQ sauce. They only had canned sparkling wine - and the server only came back once to see if we wanted more drinks - and then forgot to place the order! We didn't come for a quiet dinner, but if that is what you are looking for- it's not here!! The kids running around on the grass chasing the ducks was sweet - but not what I want to see at 8:00 at night."

  • "We sat outside to enjoy the pretty evening, the place was packed. Mostly it's families with small children. They get to run around and play In the nice grass yard. We didn't realize it was such a family affair and probably should have eaten inside. We didn't mind the kids, just weren't prepared for all the noise and activity. We went for ribs, unfortunately they were dry and tough, also the cocktails took a long time to appear. There are so many great places to eat in this area, we won't go back to this restaurant. It's too bad because it is a pretty spot."

  • "Jackalope reminds me a little of Claim Jumper . It is a nice setting, and a huge restaurant, and the menu reminds me of Claim Jumper. The service was great, the setting is beautiful and I would go again. It's the kind of place that you take guests when they come to town and sit outside by the water and grass to cool down and relax. I would go again."

  • "Went there for my spouse's birthday and mentioned to restaurant that we were there for that. However, no Happy Birthday's, no small desert, no candle in a rib, nothing, except from the host. Food was good, service was also good (the suggestive selling for the bison steak was a little over the top, its ok to mention dinner specials and state that its very good, anything beyond that makes us feel we are at a timeshare presentation)"

  • "We arrived on time, but the three hostesses couldn't work the computer. After much confusion one hostess took us to a room with several available tables for us to take our pick. Our server (Manuel?) never approached our table all evening. We waited 30 minutes then I went to a hostess who sent a server (Robin) from another area to take a drink order. Sometime later, after noticing we were still waiting for a server, Robin adopted us - otherwise we'd still be there waiting. The food was average at best. Not much selection on the menu and way overpriced for the quality, quantity and presentation. if ribs are their specialty they should find another one. There are to many great restaurants in the valley. Don't waste time or money on this one."

  • "I met my brother to have a bday celebration on my husband's 70th bday on the day we were at the restaurant. We were in awe of the magnificent grounds & restaurant & have already recommended it to several people!! The food was great also as was our server. It was tasty despite the fact that the ribeye steak could have been more tender. Accomodated my wheelchair nicely. Only downfall was the terrible wind & cold that day. Also large group at next table who were having a great time & were very loud & noisy which dampened our own experience somewhat. Restaurant was packed due to no outside seating because of wind. I will be back to celebrate my 70th this Fall along with my twin brother-all the way from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. THANK YOU"

  • "We had a 7:00PM reservation with friends from out of town and we asked to be sat where we could talk. Right after we were seated the band fired up and it was so loud we were shouting at each other just to converse. We were not that close to the bar either. It is customery that the band usually starts at 9:00PM but not here it was blazing full bore at 7 :00PM While the food was good the service was good the noise for a Tuesday night was ridiculous. If your looking for a night club eating experience this is for you"

  • "Big place with wonderful outdoor dining but... Arrived 15min early only to be perfunctorily told to "check back in a few minutes" - a place this big should have a system to notify waiting guests. After checking back 2x we are escorted back to a noisy table next to the kitchen...and left to wait for 5-10min before anyone even offers us water. A very average wedge salad came quickly enough but the silverware left when it was cleared and wasn't replaced when our entrees came so I had to get up and get it myself. A solicitous manager came along about this time and seemed sincere in her effort to fix the situation but the damage was done..."

  • "The grounds are beautiful & the restaurant was highly recommended by friends. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't a good one. We waited over an hour for our food with no update from our server, in fact we never saw our server during that time and had to flag someone down to ask about our order. When the food came we were disappointed since the place was recommended. We ordered their specialty, the ribs, and they were dry, tasteless, and overdone, a big disappointment."

Grand building, ample parking and spacious grounds raise expectations beyond what came from the kitchen on our visit. Prices are reasonable and wine list is more than adequate. Live music and patron involvement add to the sense of fun. All said though, we came to eat and were less than impressed. Many chances to add small touches and create more ambience were missed. Food was midling and presentation less than we expected from the big capital investment Jackalope has put into impressing its guests."

  • "Reservation was for 7:30 PM: Seated at 7:50 PM. Waited until 8:10 to even put in a drink order which took another 10 minutes to arrive. My steak was ordered rare and came out medium. The salad was literally swiming in dressing. My wife had fish and liked her main course. Not a good experiance."

  • "We're staying in Palm Springs and were going to a casino for a show, so we looked on line for a place to eat nearby. The Jackalope Ranch sounded good. The location is beautiful. We were concerned that the parking lot was packed. Would we have to wait? My Husband HATES to wait. But we had an Opentable reservation and were seated right away in the "quiet" room. You could hear music, but it was not loud. My margarita was not good and the replacement not good either. I passed it to my husband and ordered beer. The food was OK. Ribs not very warm. We probably won't return."

  • "Love the outdoor dining and ambience here, but the food off the menu is just "OK". Loved it when we first moved to Laquinta 4 years ago, but nothing special about it anymore. The happy hour bar menu is much better. We had a party of 8, so tip is automatically included. Service was a little lacking. Asked for lemons and bread or our water, but never got. Ribs (their specialty) came and were lukewarm at best. All thought the ribs were meaty, but could have used extra sauce with the dish. This is the second time I have wrote a review this year and even wrote a private note to the restaurant, but hasn't seemed to help. I am done taking guests here for this year, will try again next year and hope for the best."

  • "The setting for the restaurant is gorgeous. We had a table on the patio near the waterfalls which wrap around the patio and provide a lovely view and ambiance. We ordered the spare ribs, which were a bit tough, as though they had been boiled and then covered in bbq sauce. The sauce had a strange taste and after taste. The restaurant was busy with a pleasant low buzz of lots of people having a nice time. I would recommend Jackalope Ranch for its unique and lovely setting. Just don't order the ribs."

  • "What an amazing time we had for our friends 10 year anniversary here. We were delighted to meet a group of young ladies at the front door all in sync and accommodating. We were seated rather quickly and guided to our table. Very rare that a hostess talks to you all the way to your table. Dinner was fantastic too. We ended up having steaks and seafood. Which we didn't expect on the menu. Were pleasantly surprised. We will be returning next weekend! Can't wait!"

  • "Jackalope has been a tradition when we attend the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, so we were happy to introduce two friends to this restaurant. Advance reservations were made for patio dining at 6:30. Upon arrival, we checked in with the hostess (again requesting a nice outdoor table) before going to Happy Hour. When we checked back, we were told our wait would be at least an hour! Service for Happy Hour was extremely slow. Drink order was wrong. Server apologized but left it and walked away! We were finally seated about 8 P.M. The ribs were dry. BBQ sauce was never delivered or offered. Although we enjoyed the beautiful grounds, we were disappointed in the service and food. It may be time for us to start a new dining tradition."

  • "Gorgeous place... but the food is amazingly poor and prices high for what you get. Go for the views... but eat somewhere else before you go. Two thumbs down for food. Shocking how a place this beautiful can serve food so lousy. No wonder the average review on Yelp with nearly 300 reviewers is only 3 out of 5 stars. The owners apparently think people eat with their eyeballs."

  • "We arrived10 minutes early and stood around in the lobby for 20 min while they seated walk ins. I inquired and was told to stand over there they would get to me me. Not a good way to begin a first experience. After that the service improved a bit and the food was mediocre. We won't be back!"

  • "Not as very good, actually. Our calamari was greasy. My "Caesar Salad" tasted bland and was small at $7.99. I returned the salad. The steaks we ordered were cooked properly and were good but at $35 for a grilled rib eye with some mashed, a bit pricey. One of us ordered Chicken Paillard. It was NOT real Chicken Paillard. It was breaded deep fried pounded chicken breast. Greasy like the Calamari. Our server was not that attentive and we repeatedly had to ask for water and other drinks. Appetizers were brought with our salads, etc. Lastly the large booth had a spotlight overhead that was way too bright and could not be turned down or off. The light shined in our eyes and didn't make the dinner any better. Check for 6 over $300."

  • "We have eaten many times at Jackalope Ranch and every prior visit was great! This time the restaurant was way off! We ordered BBQ ribs and BBQ chicken. The chicken was raw and had an awful flavor. The ribs were extremely raw. The manager was professional and brought different dishes for us: BBQ pulled pork. It was mediocre. The service was great as well as the manager so we would go back and give it another chance. Even the best restaurants have off nights. I hope this was just a one-time bad meal!"
