  • "We had a beautiful view of the Marina, great service and were not rushed through our meal. Portions were very adequate-to-generous. The menu was top notch, with some great selections. I must say the Béarnaise was one of the best I've ever had, as was the Maytag Bleu sauce. The Hollandaise was not my favorite and I experienced a bit more pepper throughout the meal than I tend to enjoy. I would also recommend, if you choose the Wagyu steak, order it rare. I went for medium rare and found it a bit overdone. It is so tender that rare is the better choice... I should have known that!"

  • "This is usually a great place to eat. There were three of us one. ordered a bone in New York strip and the other ordered a filet. Both ordered med. rare and I ordered rack of lamb also med rare. The steaks were over cooked and the lamb was perfect. It was still a good time. Like I said this is usually a great place to eat, but let's face it ever babe Ruth didn't hit a home run all the time."

  • "We've dined at Jack Binion's Steakhouse several times over the years and have always had a wonderful experience. The staff is very attentive and the food is always wonderful. If you are a steak lover I suggest the bone in Cowboy cut...have them charboil it to seal in the wonderful flavor. The sides can be shared since you get so much. Even the bread they serve at the beginning of the meal is tasty...definitely try the port wine butter spread."

  • "We had 6:15 reservations prior to seeing the 8:00 show. We were not seated until a few minutes to 7. We were told they could not seat us because people who had finished their dinner would not leave - were relaxing waiting for the show. Why not comp a drink and move them?We ordered right away-shrimp- when we were told they could get our order out in time. The server was great. She did not have the support. It was 7:45 no food, we left. At these prices we did not want to gobble or get a doggie bag. We paid for our drinks and salad. No offer to comp! As we were leaving a woman was standing up talking to the manager with her steak balancing on her fork. She stated she waited one hour for a raw steak she ordered medium. It was visibly raw."

  • "Kitchen staff too over 75 minutes to prepare our dinner, we placed our Dinner order at about 6:30PM and at 7:50PM we advised a member of the serving staff not to bother bringing our food to the table, to wrap it as we were attending a concert at 8;00PM and needed to go to the auditorium. We observed in the hour and 20 minute wait many tables being served their dinners knowing that they were seated after my wife & myself were seated. We have dined in this restaurant multiple times and were always treated well, this time, however, much was to be desired"

  • "We went here for dinner prior to an 8:00pm show at The Venue. We had a reservation for 5:45. We were seated, and the waitress took more than 10 minutes to show up at the table. I ordered prime rib, medium, and my husband had a steak, medium. The salad came out quickly. At 7:35 I told the waitress we are going to be late for the show! She brought the food- his steak was raw (literally), mine well done. I asked for the steak to be removed from the table and the bill. We did share the prime rib, which was awful. They took both off the bill. Many other patrons had the same experience around us. Very disappointing food and service. I do not recommend."

  • "Jack Binion's is a great place for a celebratory dinner or for a special business dinner. The food was great and it is certain to impress your guests or claimants. Do have a steak, after all, it is a steak house. Our steaks were tender and succulent, even though we had them well done. The mashed potatoes were the tastiest I have had and the Cesar salad was good... But had too much dressing ( next time I will ask for the dressing on the side). The waitress was ok but not as attentive as I would have liked her to be. She could use some lessons from the European waiters. She was good, but for the prices they charge, she should have been more attentive."

  • "Great views over the marina up to the Chicago skyline and down to the Indiana steel mills. Service was prompt and efficient. We were slightly late for our reservation due to traffic problems but were seated immediately in a choice location. There were a variety of breads with butter and port laced cheese served promptly upon being seated. The bottle of wine we asked for was not available but a more expensive substitute was offered at the same price. The prime rib was superb and the brussels sprouts side with goat cheese and nuts was very tasty and the asparagus side was very well prepared. If going to a performance at the Venue you should allow two hours dining time to be able to have a leisurely meal. It is expensive but worth it."

We were not the only ones and it seemed to be the rule. We were told by the greeter that "it was always this way on a concert night" Other than that, the food was great and service was outstanding."

  • "We went before seeing a concert at the Venue. We made reservations for 5:15 and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waitress was very attentive without being annoying as were the bus staff. Our water glasses stayed full and the food was nicely paced. The onion soup was tried - tasty but nothing too special. The spinach salad was very good - a generous portion for one person or nice small portion for two. Two steaks were the entrees sampled - filet mignon and strip. Both were very tender and perfectly cooked. The baked potato was big enough for two to share and the brussel sprouts with goat cheese and walnuts were delicious. One slice of cheesecake was split onto two plates for two to share - great idea. A wonderful finish to the meal."

  • "It will be awhile before we return to Binion's. It took nearly an hour before we got our dinner and when we did we only got half of it. The server said it was on two trays so we waited to get the rest of our food before starting. While waiting for a LONG time, our food was getting cold and two porters came by asking if we needed to-go boxes. When they found we hadn't gotten all of our food, they were shocked and quickly ran to get our food. THANK YOU LADIES! The same happened with our drink orders...forgot those too along with the drink orders being wrong! Throughout the entire visit, not once did a Manager come by to ask how was our dinner. You should NEVER have this kind of experience in a fine dining restaurant spending $300."

  • "My most recent visit was to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a 545 reservation on a Saturday evening. We were promptly seated and an assortment of bread and soft cheese spreads where brought out. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, the frise salad, 5 onion soup, wagu beef sirloin, prime ribeye, asparagus, blue crab macaroni and cheese, creme brulee, and carrot cake. We also placed an order for an amaretto stone sour and coffee. The service was good albeit a little hurried. The server at the table next to us asked the diners if there was a problem because he noticed their menus were closed. I was pleased he wasn't our server. We also heard servers arguing amongst themselves. It still was a nice experience. Tipped about 17%"

When he picked up empty glass after first drink never asked if we wanted another. Grabbed it so fast as he was walking by we couldn't even get his attention to ask for another.   • "The atmosphere and scenic view was very nice; however, I was very disappointed with the food. The grilled salmon was flavorless, the jumbo shrimp was over cooked and the crab cake was over seasoned to the point of being salty. We had eaten very light all day in anticipation of this meal and left hungry. I'm addition we both had upset stomachs the next morning. I saw friends who had the filet mignon and said it was great. Maybe since its a steakhouse that's what you have to stick to. We don't eat beef but reviewed the menu in advance and were sure we could have something we liked. It didn't work out! Very disappointed"

  • "This particular steakhouse, is great for the area in Indiana. There are FAR better steakhouses about 18 miles north in the heart of the City of Chicago's beautiful down town area. I would try there before making the drive here. Really in all honesty I was shocked at the quality of food here. The food was good, but not great. The service is ok because the waitress we had was new apparently and was not used to the menu, because our order of 4 people with almost the exact order was to hard for her to get correct. The view of the lake surrounding the pier however is breathtaking. Perfect place for a business meeting or to impress a romantic date. The noise level of the restaurant was at a minimum. My family enjoyed themselves. 3 stars."

  • "This place has floor to ceiling windows surrounding the dining area that overlook Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. I make sure to take business guests there whenever possible. Too bad they are not open for lunch! They are pricey, so unless company is paying or special occasion, it's best to avoid. They do steaks very well, but don't get fooled by the Wagyu - it can be tough compared to regular beef. In the summer/fall, they have chanterelle mushrooms!"
