  • Great Special Occasion Restaurant

The family went here for high school graduation dinner. Eat steaks here. They were great. I don't recommend the fish as it was a little overdone. (probably previously frozen) And the shrimp in the pasta were a little undercooked. The warm tomato, bleu cheese salad was delicious as was the green gazpacho.

Nice quiet restaurant, but service slow, had to ask for bread, salad came with dinner making for a long wait. Meat under cooked, much rarer than we asked for but good. Baked potato dry. Waiter working inside and outside by pool, he had a large group outside.

Ordered steak medium and was very over cooked. Disappointed in cut and quality of meat for the price. Did not have croutons for the salad...said they were out. Service was sub-par for the cost of the meal.

  • We came to celebrate our 5
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012

We came to celebrate our 5 year anniversary at the Hotel after one of my new girlfriends, from Nac took me here for brunch a few weeks ago. I was so impressed with the "quaint" atmosphere, that I decided to come back with my husband and spend the night to celebrate our anniversary here, again with my new girlfriend friend and her husband. We are new to E. Texas. That evening a wedding reception was also taking place and we were fortunate to have meet the new bride and groom who were staying on the same floor as we were. What a great memory for all of us. They just having gotten married and us celebrating our 5 wedding anniversary. The complimentary champagne was wonderful too! Thank you for making that night so special. Bev Wells

  • While I typically do not complain
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 8/26/2011
While I typically do not complain about my food selection(s) I feel it important to inform you that my Ribeye Steak was a bit overcooked (I ordered just on the rare side of medium but it was served as medium-well), somewhat dry and not nearly as tender as I had expected. My wife had the Talapia, which was very flavorful. We expected a bit more upscale setting and dressed per your website (Business Casual) only to find most at the restaurant very casual. Not exactly what we expected.

The food was outstanding. Our server was new, so she was still learning on the job. She was nice but slow. The manager was extremely nice and offered complimentary dessert because of the slow service. This is the only nice restaurant in Nacogdoches, and the only one that takes reservations, so it was the best choice for us during a busy weekend.

It took about 30 minutes from the time we finished our appetizer to when we got our food. It tasted like it had been sitting under a hot lamp for about the last 15 minutes. I'm going to chalk it up to the possibility that our waitress was new. Overall, I would go back again to at least see if the service was any different.
