The ambience, food and service were perfect to honor our daughter. Four of us ordered the Filet Mignon. All of us agreed that it was cooked perfectly - crisp on the outside and moist, tender and hot to our individual liking on the inside. One ordered the Halibut also prepared and seasoned perfectly. Nonetheless, was able to have back to back business meetings with two different clients and the staff was remarkably understanding and supportive. The food was very good - the salmon dip and crackers appetizer and the seared tuna entree were esp. notable. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without being intrusive - we were able to have some pretty serious business discussions with only the necessary interuptions, but yet she was always keeping an eye on our table to see if we needed anything. It was our favorite restaurant (we dined there at least once a week). Was told by manager of the J Alexander's Northbrook restaurant that the company has no intention of reopening in Chicago.
