  • "The food was good, prompt service, polite employees."

  • "Consistently good. Quite on a Monday night, but even when busy noise level is good. Great selection and good wait staff!"

  • "Good food and good value. We go virtually every week - sometimes more than once. Great service and very friendly. It's like eating with family."

  • "My family loves J Alexander's! The food is typically fairly good and the prices are reasonable. It's a BIG, crowded and noisy restaurant. Our server was fantantistic!! There were raves about the food from our table, and we took up the large corner booth for 3 full hours, without feeling hurried by the staff, although the entry was packed with waiting customers."

  • "As usual, everything was great. We love this place!"

  • "JAlexanders was the perfect choice for lunch to cap off a fun meeting with a good friend. Clubby atmosphere and discreet but watchful wait staff made the meal a definite break from the standard Tech Center/Park Meadows lunch fare. But you choose JAlexanders hoping for something special food-wise, and this lunch hit the mark. Superb Thai Kai and Redwoods salads were perfectly dressed, beautifully presented and just the right note for our mid-day meal. Already making plans for when we can return!"

  • "My mom, my wife and I dined there. They did have our reservation, the place is kind of dark. Our waiter seemed very aloof, it didnt seem like he wanted to be there. After taking our order he came back around to confirm cooking temperatures. The filet mignon was good, though the outside seemed a little crispy. The prime rib (delicious) with mashed potatoes (fake potatoes). The steakburger and fries was good, it tasted like a steak on a bun, it did come with a lot of fries. We did order dessert, TO GO, a chocolate cake and a carrot cake. When we got home, there was no carrot cake, just a chocolate cake and what looks and tasted like a lava cake. Very disappointed about not getting what we had ordered as my wife and i live out of the area."

  • "My wife ordered a "cosmo". Upon delivery of the cocktail was informed that there was no more Citron Vodka available. The "cosmo" did not taste like she had on previous visits. So she thinks that Citron Vodka was not used. In addition, she ordered the pasta soup which was NOT hot (I verified) and was not good as expected. Overall she did not have a good experience (she is not usually critical) the others in our party were satisfied."

  • "Normally my experience is very nice - service and food. This time around the service was on point but the food was not. I ordered the filet mignon but it came back well done and very dry. I ordered medium. Because I was with clients in town from PA, I did not send it back as it would have interupted the flow. I ended up spending $250 and leaving unsatisfied with the experience."

  • "Was looking for a place to take my wife for her birthday and realized it had been a couple years since we'd been to J. Alexanders...sometimes you take great restaurants in your own neighborhood for granted. It was just as we remembered--great bar, outstanding food, reasonable pricing, extremely well run with attentive servers and great care given to the smallest details. I guarantee it won't be a couple of years before we go back again."

  • "One of my favorite places. Crab cakes are awesome!!"

  • "I have not been at this restaurant since the 1990's and my last visit there I thought it mediocre. That combined with the fact that I no longer live in the south part of metro area means I totally forgot it. I noticed while scanning for a restaurant that this had really good reviews so decided to retry to see if it was good. I was not disappointed, the food was great as was the service. Will remember this for the future when we want something different."

  • "Generally good food, steaks are consistently good. They do run out of entrees on weekends some times. Chicken is so so. Service is good"

  • "Always get a great meal here. Their prime rib, filet, scallops, and french dip are some of our favorites. They are always consistent. Martinis are excellent and wine choices are so reasonably priced. They need to improve their desserts, otherwise, great meal."

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times. The food and service are always exceptional. The Scottish Salmon was excellent as were the salads. Always fresh and well prepared. We never had to wait long for anything and our server was very attentive."

  • "Working near Park Meadows, J. Alexander's is the place to go if you want a great steak without trekking downtown. Nice for celebrations, the prime rib is amazing. The carrot cake defies it's veggie origin...and apologizes for it by smothering itself in gooey creamcheese icing. A great time for all!"

  • "Patrick was simply delightful! Very knowledgeable of the menu and about good wines. Ben, the Manager, stopped by and was very hospitable. Can't wait to go back for more great food, wine and service."

  • "We go here every week and it is wonderful! It has the feel and service of a much more expensive restaurant. Our favorite server has always been Leann but others are good too."

  • "Not near as good as it used to be. I think Hillstone in Cherry Creek is worth the drive."

  • "Finding a good suburb restaurant can be a challenge. This place has a great menu and always executes well on the food. I think they are a little proud however of what they offer and prices sting a bit for what you get. The wine list is limited as is the beer list but you can find a couple reasonable picks. What I'd like to know is why they choose to water down the ranch dressing and horseradish sauces. Are you really saving $$ by serving yuk! Give it a try you'll like it but feel you were pinched a tad."

  • "The calamari is outstanding. The marinara dipping sauce is one I'm going to be trying to recreate for years at home. Steaks were perfectly cooked and really delicious. Everything was served piping hot. My only complaint is that they are a little too heavy with the tarragon in the maitre'd butter with which they finish the steaks. If you don't care for tarragon, ask them to use a different butter to serve the steaks, and all will be well. That said, I still enjoyed my steak very much."

  • "J. Alexander's has never disappointed us. Their food is consistently good. Service is always on spot and friendly. However you want to dine - quickly or slowly - they accommodate you. We love the atmosphere. Nice lighting. Mostly booths. A few tables for larger groups. It's a comfortable restaurant. Reasonably priced. We are very happy they now accept reservations."

  • "I met up with friends for a long awaited catch-up session, so we were at the restaurant for 4 hours on a slow night. Service and food were fine except they had our main course out before we even finished our salads. We had more plates on the table than we knew what to do with. I will definitely return and will take all my clients there for a great meal in the future."

  • "My husband and I had never been to J. Alexander's before, but we'd always heard wonderful things about it. We were completely impressed with the wonderful food and beautiful atmosphere. I had the best martini of my life–a Fleur de Lis. We will definitely return to J. Alexander's!"

  • "We were seated promptly. They had just started carrying one if my favorite wines by the bottle. My husband I split the prime rib and although it was a little over cooked for our liking the flavor and the tenderness was very good. The wait staff worked as a team and were great. The manager came over when my husband mentions the prime rib was more medium than rare and offered to take it back and bring something different. Overall we had a great evening and a great dinner. We will definitely return to this restaurant."

  • "A shining star exists amid Metro South dining mediocrity! Highly recommend the Grilled Artichokes with dipping sauce appetizer, and the Scottish Salmon entree - IMHO, THE best fish dish in CO, surpassing fine dining versions! Nothing like the seared, wood-fired crispy outside and tender flaky inside. Ahi tuna (ordered rare, of course) also very good, Interesting sides to choose from. Yummy specialty cocktails come with a small carafe 'bonus' on ice. Ultra casual atmosphere, but booth dining keeps it intimate enough for date nite. Bar area is a bit compact but lively. Service is highly efficient and friendly. Only dined here twice, but it's now our definite go-to place."

  • "We had a 5:30pm reservation. We got there 10 minutes early. Ordered a bottle of wine and waited in the bar. Our buzzer still hadn't notified us at 5:45pm, so I went to check. I got the impression that something had happened,we'd been lost, etc. Hostess said..."Stand right here and I will get you seated". good meal and service followed. JI"

  • "Josh was our waiter. He gave us 5 star service. As most know, the wait staff can make-or-break a restaurant experience."

  • "Food was exceptional. Only issues were on a Valentines Day dinner, bacon was put in my vegetarian dates salad after a request for no bacon. It was also apparent they were rushing the food out in order to catch up to reservations. Otherwise everything was good."

  • "We were quickly seated and served. The chips with the trio of dips was outstanding. The steaks, I had the NY strip and my wife the filet Mingon, we're cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The sides, baked potato and Mac &cheese were also great. The server was very attentive."
