  • "11am for a 2 person reservation for brunch - We were asked to wait a moment and the host left????, when he came back, he proceeded to lead us outdoors. It was very humid out, so I asked to be seated indoors. The host then led us back to the "wait to be seated area" as we waited, the party behind us were seated to a table indoors. A female then came to seat us, she said she had a table but it would be a tight squeeze, she brought us to a table of 4, that we would have to share with another party. I said I wasn't going to share a table with others, she brought us back outside. Both hosts looked lost and still didn't know where to seat us. The place was empty! We said we were just going to leave, neither said anything to us!! Terrible service!"

  • "First time and it was a sensational brunch. There was a nice variety of food for all age groups as we went with our two young children aged 3 & 5. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The live music was a wonderful touch which we all enjoyed."

  • "Sunday brunch. Wait staff was very poor with an attitude. Food was medicore with few selections. Food staff did not know about ingredients in food. Asked if one dish contained meat. Was told no. Then asked again and it contained duck. Live music was very good, great band but a little too loud for a Sunday brunch. I wouldn't go back again. Not worth the money."

  • "I have been to Ivy before and am reminded that their appetizer/sharing menu is not great. I guess you are going for a more upscale crowd, but sharing plates are not great. The mushroom toast was rock hard and the calamari was rubbery. Why don't you scale it down for the appetizers so that they are items that are easier to share and less "upscale" and more hearty with better taste. Wine list and cocktails are great. Service very good and outside patio is awesome."

  • "Went for brunch on Sunday June 8th and had a really good time. Food was very good (except the roast beef - very dry). Not a lot of selection, but enough for an enjoyable meal. Music was a little to loud. Could barely have a conversation at the table. Really nice atmosphere."

  • "Group of girls took a friend there for her birthday on June 1st. The food was all excellent sushi bar was amazing, waffles and eggs Benny outstanding, too bad they ran out of oysters so soon especially when not so busy. We all had a few different drinks they even offered some $5 drink specials. I would recommend it highly for brunch and have already told a few people, who are planning to go. Just go early enough for the oysters! Oh and make sure you try the creme freche and chocolate cAramel sauce you had 4 women drooling!"

  • " When I ordered a chai tea the waitress said all they had was black pekoe and nothing else. When my friend arrived she asked for peppermint as she was not feeling well again to be told only have black pekoe. At that point I had to tell her that I was there last week and that waitress was rhyming off a long list of various teas. So she says oh we have changed our kitchen maybe we do have let me check and there was chai and peppermint. there was no toaster for the bread although there was one on display last week it didn't work. The perogies were made weird. Looked baked. Took a long time to refill the shrimp cocktail bowl.the music is a nice added touch and they are very talented, found it too loud as we had to yell to have a conversation."

  • "My partner and I visited the Ivy Bar for the first time to explore their brunch. We were not disappointed! In fact it was better than we had anticipated. Quality food and good ambience with live mellow music from the duo who were playing. The environment was classy, relaxed and friendly. Price point for brunch was reasonable. We plan to go again! Thanks for a great first experience!"

  • "Brought a friend who was visiting from BC. She had a great time, good food and because it was a Tuesday night, it was very quiet, so we didn't have to tell over each other, bit still had an amazing ambiance setting. Have been in the past on the weekend and the place can get packed. Great for special occasions "

  • "I had been to IVY before for brunch and this visit was far inferior. Juices were obviously from concentrate and very watery. Lack of selection of food; no bacon or scrambled eggs on a brunch menu? There was a lack of utensils; nothing to remove hot veggies from their plates. It took 5-10 minutes to get a cup of coffee, without a spoon. Omelet station was staffed by someone who was not qualified. There was a hair in the juice glass. Overall experience was horrible and so different from a previous experience. It seems that they have scaled down the selections and really need to keep an eye on their staff. "

  • "In the highly competitive food service business consistency is key. This visit the key did not fit. Signature dishes no longer available with no replacements. Poor selections."

  • "we had the seafood fettucine and the rib dinner. We thought both entrees were over priced. My huband did not like the ribs. For the price, he did not receive a fair size portion for the ribs. The ribs were also tough and there was barely any meat on the bone."

  • "Would never recommend this place to anyone. I visit new restaurants for groups I put together and I would never utilize this establishment. Noise level for a brunch was unbearable. My party and several couples around us left. Bench seating extremely uncomfortable and you could hardly get between tables or get up from the bench seating. I will be letting anyone that listens not to go there."

  • "I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. A group of friends had raved about the Sunday Brunch, and coincidently Groupon offer was available at the same time. I didn't know what to expect. The ambiance was lovely and the quite of foo was very good. Our server was the only. There were limited seating options through Open Table, hence I assumed the restaurant would have been busy. Not so. There were only 3 couples already dining when we arrived. Two other patrons who arrived very shortly after us, made the same comment. The reservation options seams to be limited through Open Table (I assume that is the choice of the restaurant), and it's difficulty to book reservation directly with the restaurant because the phone isn't answered."

  • "6 of us for Sunday brunch at 1:30. The cheese, salads & fruits promised on the website were mia; just picked over or empty plates. They only refilled the cheese & fruit 35 minutes later when we complained that the vegetarians had nothing to eat. The meat eaters fared better, liked the bacon and sausage and would have tried the beef but it too was gone. Only 1 server manning both the omelette station and the seafood bar on opposite sides of the room. There were no shrimp or oysters. Management was decent and comped the meal after we complained. Our server was good and tried to help. A Facebook coupon promo might have caught them off guard on the day we went. For these reasons we would try again."

  • "We really enjoyed our brunch at Ivy. There was a nice selection of food on the buffet and we really appreciated the ability to order eggs Benedict, French toast and steak from the kitchen, the ensure they were hot and cooked to our liking."

  • "Our staff enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch at Ivy this week! We requested Shane again, as he provided such attentive service at our last group luncheon on the patio in July and were just as impressed! We enjoyed a comfy banquette table adorned with beautiful throw pillows. Very quaint and comfortable. The food and wine were awesome. We did enjoy many of Shane's menu recommendations. The calamari dish is the best in the west! We will be back soon. Well done!"

  • "The surroundings were nice, however, the server rushed us through dinner. There is a difference between an attentive server and one that is just obviously trying to rush you out so he can seat other people. We were paying customers and celebrating a birthday along with a girls night out and I felt that they should have offered us seats in the bar or an alternative without rushing us out. I would not recommend this place to upscale diners or foodies. The seats need to be re-upholstered since when you sat down you sank in. The throw pillows have to go because they are nasty. Never again. There are better spots to go to than this place."

  • "This was my second visit for Brunch. The food is excellent and the staff are super friendly. The only negative thing I could say is the tables are a little too close and it makes it difficult getting in and out to go to the buffet. The seating would be fine if you are having full table service. I will definitely be coming back though."

  • "Went for brunch last Sunday, the food was fantastic, the place is really nice, the seating was not at all private, we had a couple on either side of us, almost feels like they were at your table. (didn't bother us, we had fun meeting them, but really, maybe there was a more private spot if we had of asked."

  • "My recent trip to Ivy Bar for brunch was good. The atmosphere was jazzy and contemporary, but a little cool in temperature for my liking. We were seated next to the patio exit where several staff exited on occasion, letting in the cool October air. I would have preferred a summer brunch at this location. There was only one chef manning the waffle, omelette and steak stations, and though he did an outstanding job, several people, including myself waited for sometime before we were served. My omelette was very satisfying, as were the fresh-made waffles. A nice place to go, but a little over-priced for what is offered compared to other high-end brunch locations."

  • "The décor and hoping dance/bar on Friday & Saturdays is perfect crowd for the group of us north of 40 that love dancing. This ain't ball room dancing but get your heart pumping moving dance floor. Food was fantastic, had only been here for dancing before today. Wine list is a surprize( a good one)."

  • "Ivy Bar is great place for seafood bar, even though they ran out of crabs. The oysters were amazing and the mussels were fresh. The chef at the bar was also very friendly and accommodating. The rest of the food was okay. The omelette and waffle station was also good. I found there wasn't much selection of their hot food and the bread and antipasto station just seemed abundant but plain. It was a good experience all the together; the service was pretty good as well. We'll definitely go back again for brunch."

  • "We went to Ivy Bar & Kitchen celebrating my Dad's birthday on a Monday evening. The ambiance is incredible! Spacious, modern and well lit, With service being prompt and friendly. Also noticed a great patio section -- too bad patio season is coming to an end. I imagine this place to be a bustling night scene on the weekends, which would be great, but it's also a notable spot if you are looking for mid-price fine dining with an exceptional wine list. Ivy's "Duck Duo" dish with a braised cabbage and cranberry mustard was my pick, and it was delicious! I'll definitely be coming back to see the weekend crowd."

  • "Been hard pressed to find a really good breakfast place in burlington that offers above the regular breakfast chains. This place is a deal for $ 25/person. Apparently they recently decreased their price from $ 45 which is way too much to spend on breakfast/brunch. But at$ 25 it is a great deal for what they offer. Fresh made to order eggs benedict, banana bread french toast, steak.. oysters, mussels, crab legs and a ton more! it was all amazing. Will definitely go back for brunch."

  • "Thank you for a great evening! Everyone commented on the fresh air from your living wall...lovely! The food was awesome. Our server was very helpful...I have several food allergies and she was able to accommodate me. We will definitely visit again. Next time we will introduce some new friends to your restaurant."

  • "We went to celebrate my birthday & were looked after by Brooke. She was fun and professional and helped us navigate our way through the cocktail and dinner menu. Appetizers were absolutely delicious and helped set the tone for a great night of celebration. Unfortunately the main courses were a disappointment. My husband ordered the steak feature, and, although it was cooked perfectly, the meat was incredibly tough which speaks to the quality or the butchery of the meat. My mother and I had the Tagliatelle and it was okay but nothing special. My father had the duck and he was less than impressed as well. My daughter was REALLY well looked after and we were impressed with the pasta that the chef put together. Great place. Great service."

  • "I find the food is always very tasty at Ivy and the ambiance is like a high end vacation resort. The patio is large, beautiful and private. The indoors has a stunning chandelier and a mix of low tables with couches and regular tables. The staff is also very friendly. It's a great place to hang our with friends or enjoy a special occasion."

  • "The brunch was not up to expectations ... our reservation was for 12 and at that time their oysters was already all out - they weren't very packed at the time even ... and it was Fathers day so i would expect that they should have been well prepared and stocked. Other items... a few were good, most were on the fair side."

  • "Our reservation was at 5 pm before going to a movie and we were the first in the restaurant. By the time we left there were several other tables occupied which is a good sign. The service was excellent. The price of food is a little high. Ordered the 2 specials - Swordfish was $24 with a small piece of fish and salad. Also ordered the pasta of the day - garlic cream sauce with chicken, asparagus and tomatoes and it was $26. Food tasted great but the prices could be a little lower for the portion sizes. Had the caprese salad and Caesar salad and both were good."

  • "We were a little hesitant going to Ivy after seeing mixed online reviews, but have absolutely no regrets now that we've gone. Sunday's brunch was an extensive buffet (not the menu posted on their website, mind you), delicious and varied, and we thought quite reasonable compared with other higher-end brunch buffets we have been to. The mussels were excellent and the Banana Bread French Toast was off-the-hook! Service was awesome and there was a very entertaining folky jazz duo as well. Recommended!"

  • "Had a great night out with my wife and enjoyed our time at Ivy. Even though service was a little slow it was still pleasant and the food was very good. The dishes seemed well thought out and the plate presentation were clean and neat. The flavours of the food were well balanced ,I especially like my duck "duo" plate even though I questioned how much foie gras was in my sausage. The servers were very attentive ,pleasant and energetic. all in all and great experience one I hope to repeat one day"

  • "Restaurant decor is cool, staff are very friendly, menu choice extensive, but food execution missed the mark on Good Friday. Sliders were dry, Calamari very rubbery, salting was under and over, Fondue low on flavour. It wasn't terrible, but not competitive with other great restaurants in Burlington. We might give Ivy another chance if we are feeling adventurous."
