It took about 10 minutes before we were acknowledged at the desk. Once seated it took another 10 minutes for the waitress to even ask for drinks. We had to ask for the specials and soup of the day. The portions were ridiculously small for the price.

First of all this restaurant is not close. We traveled 40-45 min to get there. We had a reservation and we arrived on time. We waited 15 min before someone even came to the hostess stand or acknowleded us, and the servers just walked past without even saying hi or someone will be with you shortly. We were put in the corner, we had no bread (everyone else did), they ran out of the dish we ordered and we were substituted for something else without asking what we would like, and our food was cold. The food itself would probably taste good but since it was cold I couldn't make a good determination. Not to mention the prices were not cheap. The server said "if its a big deal that you didn't get your dish I might be able to give you a little off your bill" and that didn't happen either. I did call and complain to the owner who was very nice and apologetic and is supposed to be sending us a $75 gift certificate for our poor service. If we get the gift certificate hopefully the dinner will be better. I will not be going back unless I get the gift certificate and even then I'm not sure I want to try again.

I had heard great things about this restaurant. The place is beautiful & warm. We found the menu to be expensive, except for wine by the glass. When our dinners came, the presentation was impressive, but the food was average, at best. Didn't justify the high-end steakhouse pricing. We won't be back.

Took two out of town visitors and what a mistake! Steak was fatty, noodle side dish was smothered in soy sauce, calamari was tough. The waiter didn't serve the steak with a steak knife and we had to get up to go find someone to ask for a steak knife. The server didn't bring bread plates with the bread or appetizer plates with the shared calamari. Even the complimentary bananas forester for someone's birthday was a show lacking flavor. When the waiter saw most of the fatty steak left on the plate he was so clueless that he asked "would you like to box this up to take home?" Top it off with no validation for valet parking. Never going back, don't waste your money.

Overall a pleasant Saturday night dining experience. Our table was ready per our online reservation. Our server arrived immediately and was very personable. She gave us a few minutes to go over the fairly extensive wine list and then took our order. The food is somewhat pricey but comparable to other, similar establishments. The French Onion Soup was good and the Pistachio Crusted Scallops were very tasty. Others in our group enjoyed the salmon as well as the eggplant entrees. For dessert the Bananas Foster was excellent. Overall, not inexpensive but great food and service - a pleasant evening out. Would go back again.

Every couple years we try again with this restaurant. It's an amazing location and a good atmosphere and I keep hoping that they're going to get their act together. But although nothing about our experience was awful it just seemed to miss the mark fairly consistently. The whole experience just felt un-polished for lack of a better word. For a Friday night in such a fantastic location they should be turning people away, but there were plenty of open tables. That in itself I think is quite telling.

Ivy on the Glenn has some of the basic selections but is also full of something different and tasty. We did a four course dinner for two, with a shared appetizer and desert. Each had our own salad and I highly recommend the beet salad, it was very good and not overly beety in flavor. The steak was good with sides. I really liked the desert, I had bananas foster for the first time and it was lovely as the waitperson prepared it at the table. The ambiance was wonderful, wood and metal and a large fire place. Nicely laid out with an cozy but modern feel.

Made our reservations on a Sunday evening, so it was not overly busy. Really nice restaurant with very good food and outstanding service - I was a little surprised that they choose not to use tablecloths. In any case, Ivy at the Glenn keeps their menus relatively simple, but cover the bases. The preparations are elegant and are delivered by staff who are happy to be there and who make you happy to be there. A good wine list as well. It does take awhile, but I would expect no less of a fine dining establishment. The delivery was well paced - the allowed us to talk and delivered hot courses only when we were ready. Based on other reviews I have seen, the service sounds very inconsistent, but ours was superb.

Tried again after a long hiatus. The service was great - our server was John - very attentive and outgoing. We waited forever for our food - my daughter had to leave and was almost late picking up her daughter. Our reservation was at 6:15, we got our appetizer and soup/salad timeley but our entrees didn't arrive until 7:20 - after waiting 30 minutes after soup/salad. When the food arrived it was sadly just "okay" - our food was not cooked the way we requested (burgers were not medium). We sat near the kitchen and we weren't the only people waiting a longer than usual time to get our food - the wait staff tried very hard to make up for the slow kitchen.

My wife and I dined here for dinner to celebrate her new job. The seasonal menu had a lot of great, fresh options. We were pleased to learn that almost all of the menu items could be modified to be gluten-free. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine along with our appetizer, soup/salads, dinner entrees (BBQ pork & pistachio-crusted scallops) and topped the night off with bananas foster made table-side. We will be coming back soon to try out some other dinner options, and maybe even the brunch menu someday.

We have eaten at Ivy at the Glen several times, but this one of more enjoyable meals. My husband had steak and I had the tuna...both were amazing and service was impeccable. We probably enjoyed it more because the restaurant wasn't packed, which it often is. Thus the noise level can escalate at those times. But the food is always delicious.

What a disappointment this visit was. This was our 4th time to Ivy & most likely our last. Each visit the service got progressively worse. We were there for over 2 hours. Tables that came after us left before us. Food was barely warm. Steak was under cooked. After 30 minutes of recooking MY food they brought me SOMEBODY ELSE's food which had also been sent back to be recooked, GROSS!! We never did see a manager even though our waitress said she told the manager about our situation. For the money spent at Ivy, there are a lot better dinning choices available, go to one of them instead.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 9/14/2014
Food was excellent - all dishes were delicious and well prepared. Service was absolutely the worst. Only 3 other tables in this large restaurant were occupied (one with 10-12 people). Staff seemed completely confused and overwhelmed, and simply didn't know how to handle a large group, causing all others there to suffer with interminable wait times (15 minutes for order to be take, 45 minutes later to be served our orders but only after a complaint was made to the owner). Appetizer came only after another reminder, and drink refills were not forthcoming until (again) another reminder. If this place were ever to approach even 25% capacity, woe to anyone who dines there. Great potential here as the food was wonderful but only if staff improves

We had purchased a Groupon for Ivy at the Glenn to give it a try. We started with the chile relleno as an appetizer and then proceeded to have clam chowder and the frisee salad. My entree was the encrusted salmon which was very flavorful and moist. It was so nice to not have a dried out piece of salmon. My husband had the pork dish and said it was very good. We finished by sharing the homemade donuts, which were delightful with a cup of coffee. All in all a great food experience and the waitstaff was wonderful. They had been dealing with many kids there that night due to homecoming and were handling it quite well. A great experience overall and we will be back.

Sarah, our server, was wonderful. We let her know we were not in a hurry and had a lot of visiting to do, and Sarah was very accommodating. The restaurant is classy and offers a comfortable place to dine and visit. All of us were very pleased with the food -- it was all delicious. The portobella sandwich was very yummy, and I'm looking forward to trying more menu items. So many items sounded so good, and it was hard to select which one to try. This was my second visit to Ivy at the Glenn, and I plan to return with more friends and family. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

8 people/Saturday dinner. Initial observations: Beautiful restaurant, great spot, friendly hostess. That's where it all went downhill. Waiter (and entire staff) sweating heavily due to lack of AC. Dinner was around sunset and entire restaurant was asking to drop the blinds. 30 MIN LATER THEY DID! Must've waited for all dishes to come up because everyone's food was overdone and searing hot. My wife's scallops were horrible and the redo plate she ordered arrived after all plates were off the table. No manager on duty we were told. Women's bathroom was "filthy, out of order stall, and no soap" according to my wife. They messed up at least 3 of our checks at the end. This is the worst experience I've had in years. #closingsoon #notforthatprice

The food was the best part of our experience - everything was delicious - appetizers, main course and dessert. We ordered a bottle of white wine which was good but wasn't chilled sufficiently. The glasses on the table were covered with water spots, a small but important detail. We also found there were 5 water glasses on a table for 4 people, and after my son drank from one realized that there was lipstick all over it - yuck. Our server was very attentive, and just lovely throughout the meal, without hovering over us. All three courses of the meal took a really long time to come out, for the table side bananas foster we heard a server say there was a 30 minute wait for the cart since they only had one working.
