Have never had a bad meal.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAthens in YorkvilleWe have never been diappointed by Ithaka.
Start with the cocktails which are quite ample and go next to the appetizers all of which are wonderful such as the spreads in the Pekilia (yummy spicy feta).
Saganaki is to die for as are the lamb meatballs.
Great salads (I loved the feta with tomatoes).
Main courses are always wonderful from the clay pot specials to the lightly seasoned boneless butterflied chicken breast (a personsl favorite) to the always fresh fish.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic Greek FoodIthaka is very nice Authentic Greek restaurant. Pkilia and grill octopus are outstanding. Mousaka and Pasticio are cooked like grandma's cooking as Greeks say. Atmosphere is very pleasant. Also, service is very nice, and attentive. Defiantly I will go back, and recommend to my friends and to my co-workers.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways one of our favoriteAlways one of our favorite neighborhood dining spots. Great Greek cuisine.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMService is great..Our waterService is great..Our water is Costis...wonderful....vg food...fresh fish, chicken kebab...dessert...dumplings all very good...highly recommend5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMVisit a "Greek Island" in NYCThis place just gets better with each visit. The restaurant is welcoming with a bar and dining area in the front but I prefer the room further back where the lighting and decor looks and feels like a Taverna on a Greek island. The wait staff is courteous, efficient and cordial. The fresh fish is always a delicious choice and I love the "clay pot" menu offerings, too. Finish your meal with a Greek coffee and some baklava and you have enjoyed a visit to a Greek Island in NYC.
,5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNice local place.Attractively done interior. Interesting menu. Quiet enough for conversation. We ordered only two dishes so that's not much to go on. They were OK, not memorable. Perhaps others might have been better. We'll see next time.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingWe had mothers day lunch at Ithaka and everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and large portions. The service was excellent and they didn't rush us out at the end of our meal. I would highly recommend Ithaka5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Greek Dining TreasureMy friend married a woman from Greece, and they introduced us to this place. What a find. The food is authentic, delectable and reasonably priced. The menu has a nice selection of entrees and tapas, and we usually order a combination of the two and eat family style. Highly recommend the Greek salad, fried cheese, grilled meatballs, lamb skewers and the yogurt dip. The service is attentive and friendly. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Greek restaurant. The best Greek restaurant on the Upper East side.
The grilled octopus was the best I have ever had and the dips were amazing.
The grilled Orata was incredible, as well as the lamb with orzo pasta that my friend had.
Drinks were generous and the Greek wine, Santorini that our waiter recommended, pared well with our dinner.
Service was great. Attentive. professional and the waiter was very knowledgeable.
Well organized restaurant, that gives you the feeling from the time you walk in, that you'll enjoy your dining experience.

Always a favorite place to bring visitors knowing all will be impressed! Best for fresh fish and great for conversation; like visiting Greece without packing your bags.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything we ordered wasEverything we ordered was well-executed, in particular a perfectly grilled Bronzino. Ingredients (olive oil, feta, vegetables) were highest quality. The service was fast and professional. Food and service match more expensive Greek venues, e.g. Periyali. The major weakness was a poor wine list, offering generic Chilean wines (at $10 the glass) and undistinguished Greek selections.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. The fresh fish, whole fish was great! The appetizer, hummus plate we started with was also excellent. First time there, but I can tell that the neighborhood folks know this is a solid place for a sophisticated dinner.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
