Izakaya food is essentially Japanese tapas, and the fun is to create a meal out of small plates of delicious tidbits like miso-marinated eggplant, crunchy fried chicken, and Japanese peppers sautéed in soy sauce. There's even sushi for those who can't goo without. The service is good and helpful if you need any items explained. It's a perfect restaurant to dine with friends, a date, a large group, and my favorite spot for dinner with my boyfriend and his mother.
