Diner Reviews
  • "We loved this restaurant. The good was very very tasty and the portions were perfect. Drinks and wine also very good. The selection of both food and wine are good not overwhelming. We love the hotel location and the service so we will return!!"

  • "The space is open and full of light. The glass ceiling makes it particularly attractive (think of it on a snowy day). But the cuisine leaves much to be desired. "So so" or "just Ok" is rather generous."

  • "I felt the atmosphere was spectular. The chanderlers were beautiful and service was great. The food tasted remarkable however very small portions. I was hungray after spending $100 per person."

  • "I had a great time at Isola as you are walking in you start noticing the beauty of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. I had the baby octopus and the pollo (chicken) The restaurants looks great I must admit I will definitely recommend this place to my friends."

  • "My best friends took me here for dinner and it was such a great experience. The food was incredible especially the crudo. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The only downfall was the service. Our waiter was just plain rude. Such a shame such a great place has such unfortunate staff."

  • "It was my first time coming to this restaurant. I have to say I was really impressed! The ambience is absolutely gorgeous and the food is yummy. I was also really impressed by the waitstaff particularly because they were not only friendly but helpful. I will definitely be coming back here again!"

  • "Service was very slow. It wasn't very crowded and yet it was like our waiter was completely missing. Food was great!"

  • "This place is great. the roof is completely glass and it was so bright when we entered. The service was amazing. There was a little problem with the burger I have ordered. I wanted to have it medium rare but it came well-done. I communicated this to our server and he immediately took care of the problem. My burger has been removed and a new one came within 10 minutes or so. Also, in terms of the ambiance, you feel like you are having your brunch outside because of the glass roof. Strongly recommended."

  • "I gave three stars to the service only because we got surprised a little in the end. We had two bellinis from the cocktail list, then we decided to go for champagne. We asked a waitress to get it for us without looking at the menu. So eventually, we had three glasses of it and ta-da we got a bill. These three glasses cost us almost half of the total bill, when each of us had appetizers, main course, desert and bellinis. Seems like she brought us the most expensive champagne from the menu. May be you say it is my mistake and I should have specified the price or the name of the champagne. But I usually expect from waitress to ask me if I'm fine with my choice if the price of the cocktail exceeds the price of the previous drinks."

  • "The ambiance screams romance. The chandeliers does catch your eyes and the wooden bar tables adds a bit of rustic feel to the place. Besides the decor, the food is absolutely amazing. Had brunch and the LEMON RICOTTA PANCAKES won the table over...pair that with a glass of German Riesling and you'll have a memorable meal. Will definitely be making another reservation soon but for dinner."

  • "I came here because of Michelle Phan and the setting of the restaurant. I order the smoked salmon but should had order the lemon pancakes(that my friend order). As the waiter said, it was a life changing pancakes.. My taste bud died and went to heaven every bit. Overall, I was still satisfied with my smoked salmon."

  • "The interior is beautiful and makes a great first impression. All seating areas are equally nice. The crowd was a mix of people of all ages, and everyone was dressed very well. The staff was polite but not outgoing with friendliness. We loved the ambience. The music fit the scene. There was no change in music for the holiday. The cocktails were delicious and the wine list offered a large variety. The food we ordered was very good, but they were out of some items when we arrived for our dinner at 7:30. The portion sizes were just right, not overwhelming but not pretentiously small. Desserts were all very good. They were unique and beautifully plated. I would go there again for dinner, and I would definitely also visit their bar."

  • "What a beautiful setting for drinks or dinner, you are literally in this huge greenhouse with these oversized sparkling chandeliers. We had dinner there. Appetizer, onion tart with a fig jam that was delicious. We were never offered any bread which we thought was odd. Wine is expensive, glass of Chardonnay $14.00. Entrees we had the Bronzino which was good and Monkfish which was just okay. From a quick study of the menu, one can tell the speciality there is either pasta or pizza and very reasonable prices. The fish was more and for the prices charged, it really should have been extraordinary. We'll definitely revisit but maybe to just have a drink and or a pizza."

  • "a beautiful setting, with limited menu, but what was on the menu was excellent. My only complaint is that the seating arrangement is a bit strange, with not one table that is particularly inviting to sit at ....."

  • "Went here with 4 girlfriends this weekend for brunch. The Mondrian, and Isola is an elegant spot with great food. No need to wait in lines that stretch around the block, or get knocked about in a crowded noisy restaurant. The ambience is social but not busy and the ambience is elegant. We were left alone to our girly chatter, were not rushed, and the food was great. Service was available whenever we needed it. Oh, and its never harmful if they have lots of fun cocktails and a great wine list! In short, its perfect for a 'grown up' brunch :)"

  • "The decor is gorgeous, and I had only been here for drinks in the past, but the food was terrible. I ordered the tuna carpaccio pizza, which out of nowhere had eggplants that were severely undercooked. The service started out well, but once our food came, everyone dropped off the face of the planet. My belleni was terrible, and because no waiter was in sight, I downed it quickly hoping a bus boy would stop by eventually so that I could order a mimosa instead. My belleni was whisked away before I could even open my mouth to ask for the waiter to come, so that I could order a new drink. Then we sat there for another 25 minutes, waiting for someone to take our food away. Terrible service. Terrible food. At least the chandeliers are pretty..."

  • "We had our 6 month anniversary in the beautiful romantic setting of the Mondrian Hotel's Isola Trattoria. It was absolutely lovely to injest all that creativity and design orientation. Our reservation was perfect and the overall experience was impeccable! Just lovely all the way around. And we have some fun, attractive photos to continue to remind us..."

  • "Lets Start with a Crudo Bar that has NO Crudo on the weekends. Its like a pizza place that does not serve pizza. The online brunch menu did not have any crude so we called in advance to check and were guaranteed there were at least 3 crudos available. We waited 50 yes... 50 minutes for a simple beer and bloody mary while at least 4 bartenders and 10 wait staff were wondering around without much to do. Our server had the personality of a frozen TV dinner . The food was greasy - not very fresh and arrived cold."

  • "The decor and ambience are great in this restaurant. Unfortunately, you can't eat ambience. The food was good, but not great. I was expecting more from the dishes we ordered. I prefer other restaurants for food quality. I would return for drinks though, as the bar scene and overall energy was great."

  • "Cheese on burger was salty and cheese on salad was a bit salty couldnt enjoy the other flavors. The digestive wine at the end of our business meeting was a nice compliment."

  • "If this restaurant was half the price, I still wouldn't go back... I thought that the food was poor, and even worse for how expensive it was."

  • "I had a great experience at Isola and I plan on dining there plenty of times in the future. I ordered the broccoli rabe pizza and it was to die for. The menu had great choices and I cannot wait to go back and try the other plates. The ambience is amazing and I was in love with the chandeliers. I guess you could say I'm a sucker for them. I think this restaurant is perfect for a date, a night out with close friends, or a private party. The drink menu was fabulous as well and I definitely recommend trying the Mondrian Bellini. Delish!"

  • "Notable entry into the burger wars is Isola's truffled lardo version. Juicy and flavorful, this burger stands out from the crowd. A good glass of wine in accompaniment makes this a gourmet experience."
