And the food was divine. Every time we book through OpenTable, it seems we get preferential treatment. We had a table for two overlooking the ocean. The skyline is magnificent from here. The dining pace was relaxed, service was skilled, and the meal was prepared with great attention to detail. The husband enjoyed the chopped salad and filet trio while I savored the romaine wedge salad and macademia encrusted sea bass. We both saved a little room for the trio of creme brûlée. When we got home, we discovered some extra popovers tucked into our leftover bag. Fun evening for two, far from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

The service was fantastic! The view is teriffic, the food was mediocre. The mashed potatoes ruined this meal for me, they tasted like they came from a box, there were enough mashed potatoes to feed a family of four, the broccolini had a burnt flavor. The lamb was good, not the best. My friend ordered the scallops, she enjoyed them but like me received a heaping mound of potatoes that were not good. I haven't been here in a while and now I know why.

We ran into horrific traffic and had to call the restaurant to let them know that we would be significantly late for our reservation time. They were extremely gracious, and when we arrived, they sat us immediately, at a table with an amazing view right next to the window. Our waiter was outstanding. He made excellent recommendations when we asked for them and was the perfect balance of being attentive without being annoying. We enjoyed our food immensely and had lots of leftovers due to the large portions of the side dishes.

Went there for the first time for our 31st anniversary. Made reservations and asked for a window table. We were actually shown a couple of tables that were amazing and got to choose which we preferred. View was incredible. Waiter and other servers were right on point. Had a delicious steak dinner. Place emptied out about 8:30pm, so it was very quiet and just a very relaxing, enjoyable time. Will be back for sure. Interested to try C level too. Great place for special occasion!

We had a great time, excellent table waiting for us, the service was outstanding. Huge free parking. You have a great view. Make sure to taste the Doube Baked Potatoe and the NY Steak. Even when the $$$ are a little toward the high-end, when the check arrive we were surprise as we expected to pay more. I did notice that the place had a large number of patrons even on a tuesday night, that is always a good sign.

The twice baked potatoe stuffed with lobster was a meal in itself. It could easily feed 4 hungry guys. The double pork chops dinner was excellent. The food was the best I ever had in awhile. We were there at night and could see the city lights. I think a dinner during daylight hours would be more scenic.

This is our second time dining at Island Prime. We came for a combination birthday/anniversary celebration. As native San Diegans, we seek out the best in surf and turf with a view....Island Prime meets all of our wants and adds the best service, accommodations, location, and food. Our favorite way to start is with one of their signature martinis and the colossal prawn appetizer. We followed that with a beautifully cooked lobster tail and a tender filet mignon washed down with a sparkling pinot noir. The family style sides were the perfect complement to a wonderful meal. This romantic restaurant will be a well looked forward to annual destination!

I was a fan of Island Prime & its romantic atmosphere & delicious food until my most recent visit. Our waitress was sweet, but the service was quite slow. The portions have become exorbitant, & I feel like it's because they are compensating for the decrease in quality. The flavor of our food was good-not $220 for 2 people good, though. The ahi tower appetizer was delicious but enormous. My tasty rib eye, which I requested medium rare, came medium well. My boyfriend's dry-aged steak special introduced us to new & interesting flavors. As the double stuffed baked potato was the size of a football, we could only eat a third of it. We left our big to-go bag with a homeless man, as we were visiting from out of town. I hope he enjoyed it!

Three scallops were way over priced. The prime rib was good. Enrique, I think, was awesome. The table was on the water's edge. For the money I would rather go to one of the other Cohn family restaurants. The Prado or C Level is a much better bang for the buck!

We arrived for our dinner reservation at 7:45pm. The bar service was excellent, everything went well until we sat down . The waitstaff was very slow to acknowledge that we were sitting there, we had to make ourselves noticed. From the appetizers to the main entree the service was very slow. The entree ordered was seafood, took forever, when it got to our table, it was lukewarm. A real turnoff!

Its a shame that a restaurant with such a great view serves such mediocre food. We go a couple times a year for the scenery and leave disappointed in the food. This time I had the lamb chops which were good, but were served with quinoa which was sweetened and very tough broccolini. My wife had a wonderful serving of ahi which was destroyed by sweet sauce spread over it. The accompanying items were also saturated with sugar. Deborah Scott's tends to ruin outstanding food by smothering it in sugar. She refuses to let the natural flavor of quality food be prominent and instead camouflages it. This is a characteristic of Cohn restaurants, but Island Prime is the worst. Next time we want dinner with a bay view, it will be a picnic.

I have been lucky enough to go here on a number of occasions. Anyone that has been here knows that you go for the amazing view. I took my girlfriend here for a milestone bday and informed the restaurant of this as well. I had requested, in advance, a table next to the windows if possible. I know this is not always possible. We made a late reservation (7:45PM) knowing it would not be as crowded. When we arrived the host noted the bday and window request. They asked us to wait (took about 15min) so they can accommodate us. Yet we didn't get a table by the window despite open tables. Then they did not give any dessert for her birthday. I was overall disappointed, perhaps more so because I have been here in the past and really enjoyed it.
