  • "This was our second visit to Isabella's, last time we brought family with us, this time it was just the two of us. It was a sunny, warm day and we were seated in front of the window where we could watch people and dogs walking by. The food was great and it came fairly quickly. Overall we really enjoyed our experience and will go there again."

  • "We have gone to isabella's a few times. the food is always terrific, and the ambience is nice, so areas of the restaurant are better than others. The service is great too. All the foods I have tried are wonderful, but I think my favorite there is the gazpacho on the soup list is amazing!!!!"

  • "This was my second time there. But this time I brought my parents as well as my wife. Everyone was pleased with their meal. And believe me, with this group of diverse tastes and wide ranging needs and restrictions, this was no small task. But we all enjoyed the evening."

  • "We had a wonderful meal here. The four of us split a few tapas (order the Chorizo and Manchego, trust me :)) and split the lobster paella and everything was served with perfect timing and temperature. It was just an overall wonderful experience and when the bill came ($90 for four of us including a bottle of wine!) we were surprised at how reasonable it was for such a great restaurant. I would highly recommend Isabella's for dinner. Fantastic food, smiling helpful and attentive staff, and a great atmosphere. "

  • "We dine at Isabellas frequently. My Mom and best friend do not live in the area, and this is the first place they mention when we say let's go out for lunch or dinner. The food is always good! "

  • "twelve of us were in the Sun Room and were FROZEN the entire meal - frigid air was blasting from the huge air vent directed at our table. We asked and asked and asked, but the manager didn't want to turn the air off because people in the front needed to be cool. It ruined our lunch. Any HVAC person who would leave the vents pointing like that doesn't know what he is doing. and the restaurant needs to do something before the heat sets in to rectify it. OR not seat anyone in that room, losing valuable tables. Yes, even the guys were frozen!"

  • "We have been to Isabella's a few times, and the food and service are always wonderful. The only hiccup we had this time was that our table was right at the entry of the restaurant and near the bar where there was a large crowd that was somewhat loud. The back area of the restaurant had been reserved out to a private party, but I mentioned to them that I had made the reservations 2 weeks in advance and would have appreciated notice of where our table was going to be situated. We were a party of 7, and it was hard to have a conversation with the overlapping noise from the bar. Food for thought!"

  • "This was our 1st time dining here and everything we tried was amazing! We were having an evening out with another couple and we both really enjoyed our experience. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful with what to try. We will definitely be back again!"

  • "We are so happy we tried Isabella's. It is our favorite restaurant in downtown Frederick. Atmosphere is relaxing and food is delicious. Love the variety."

  • "Every tapas we ordered was great. The spicy shrimp was especially delicious with the grilled onions. Nothing was left behind. The asparagus fries with sauce was mouth watering, as was Romano sauce with the lightly breaded and fried calamari."

  • "This place is a gem. Great tapas, great and interesting wines, huge bar and friendly service. You can't go wrong with the bacon wrapped dates, the cocoa-crusted filet mignon, the asparagus "fries", the gambas a pil-pil (sizzling shrimp with garlic), or most of the other tapas here. Kiss Jaleo goodbye and come up to Frederick for great and less expensive tapas!"

  • "Excellent Tappas. I got the lunch special, which was a "pick three" and I had a hard time deciding which to pick because it all sounded good. I will be back to order what I didn't pick the last time. Fantastic lunch."

  • "Went to Isabella's for dinner during restaurant week and was very disappointed. They appeared to be understaffed for restaurant week and even though the restaurant was not full, had to wait an excessive time for waiter who spilled water on the table and drinks on the floor. For the money, portions were small and food was fair with the exception of the Asparagus fries which were outstanding. Entertainment was excellent. We have been to Isabella's for brunch in the past which was very good so maybe it was just a bad night."

  • "Short notice for wife's birthday dinner. Good service, martini's are a little small, very good margaritas. The asparagus fries are phenomenal, have to try them. Stuffed scallops were excellent and the bread is very good also."

  • "Isabella's is a great place to try some different foods. Their food is very good and not overly expensive. Try the asparagus fries and the bacon-wrapped dates!"

  • "Great food matched by educated wait staff who made great recommendations. Beautiful table right by the fire to celebrate a birthday. Nicely done!"

  • "Restaurant Week special got me through the door. They seemed a little overwhelmed that Saturday evening, but the service was super-friendly and efficient. Actually, too efficient. I don't dawdle at the table, but it was way, way too rushed. I think b/c of Restaurant Week, so I'll be back another time. Menu choices were great and very well prepared. Nice vibe and rapport with diners."

  • "We went here for brunch and I wasn't terribly impressed. Our waiter didn't know why the stuffed French toast and regular French toast w cinnamon butter cost the same. Hubby had to ask for more syrup than the 2tbs worth he was given. The sausage was incredibly dry...he really should have sent it back. My stuffed French toast was quite good. I could see this place as being better for happy hour and drinking....lovely bar! It was just ok, no great ah ha moment."

  • "Excellent option for Sunday brunch. Pleasantly surprised to find brunch in addition to the usual tapas offering. Perfect for our party of eight. Expect to return."

  • "Try the sizzling shrimp and don't forget to dip the bread in that sauce! Thanks for a great anniversary dinner at our favorite restaurant!"

  • "Isabella's has something for everyone. The worst part of the experience is choosing which plates to get. I could have eaten everything on the expansive menu....the choices range from veggies to full meals and everything in between. The asparagus sticks in tomato aioli sauce are spectacular.. The brie was so warm and tasty, and this time we enjoyed the mussels which were out of this world.. the nice dense bread topped things off dipped in the garlic mussel broth. If you haven't tried tappas, this is the place to do it. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is lively. The wait staff are informative, pleasant ..never rushing you through the wonderful experience.Great adult beverage selection. Isabella's is a MUST!!!!!!!"

  • "This was a great find in Frederick! We loved the food and enjoyed our server. The noise level was super loud as there was a host of wine drinkers standing next to the bar when we first arrived. However, they did not stay long. We enjoyed the food and flavors so much that we considered eating there two nights in a row :). That is a first for us. Great job!"

  • "We had early reservations, so got there while "Happy Hour" was still in play. Everyone was happy, and the noise level confirmed that. But still, it was exciting and fun to be there with a noisy crowd--first time we had done that in a long while. Food was terrific, a nice variety of tapas made for an enjoyable meal. Two people, 80 bucks (but a lot of that was wine)"

  • "We met a couple there and knew what to expect. The food was great. Between to 4 of us we must have had about 10 different tapas, 2 bottles of red wine, and samples of delicious draft brews. The ice cream sampler and coffee were a great way to end the evening. We left with happy stomachs..."

  • "We sat in back bar and it was cozy. After 2 drinks we sat at our table and had great service there as well. Just very quaint- a hidden treasure. The only issue was the chicken- it was covered in pepper and that wasn't described on the menu. I liked the dish, but the pepper dte all the flavor. Menu had so many selections, it was hard to decide. Some items were over priced, but the menu has something for everyone."

  • "the service was great the food had a good flavor but some parts of the food was cold (scallops, peas)"

  • "I've been to Isabella's a number of times and the food is always good, not great, but good. It does get very loud around 10:00 p.m. on weekends as they've started having a DJ and dancing."

  • "Isabellas has yet to disappoint! Brunch was just as good as dinner! Love that the menu is small andnot overwhelming... The food was again amazing! Stuffed French toast, goat cheese fritter salad, and the burger really were delicious! Looking forward to our next visit"

  • "Isabella's is a good find. It is pretty consistent. We got a table for 2 right by the door. I would request in the future not to have that table. It was full that night so they couldn't move us."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner the other night. I had the Bacon-Wrapped Scallops and my husband had the Skirt Steak. Both dishes were well seasoned and enjoyable. Brian, our Server, was knowledgeable and very polite. It made for a wonderful evening."

  • "We were a group of 4 who each ordered various items from the tapas menu and shared them between all four of us. Each dish we got was very tasty. The portions were small, but rich in flavor. We especially enjoyed finishing the sauces by sopping them up with the bread. The wait staff was attentive and kept bringing our choices with fairly short waiting periods. It seemed we always had something to share, sometimes four items at once."
